Xiu frowned as she gazed into the basket, eying the contents carefully. Had she forgotten anything? A plate of freshly-baked spookies sat beside a thermos of freshly brewed--and still hot--tea. Further off to the side of the basket was a small box that contained four different kinds of mooncakes--the festival would be coming up soon, after all--and sitting above all of this stuff was an envelope containing this year's prom photos. Although they were no longer necessary to help jolt the ghoul's memories--after all, that hadn't actually been Mitsu in the first place--the baku thought that it would be nice to give her friends a copy anyways.
To say that she was worried about the lycan would have been a great understatement, though. Honestly, the baku was relieved that her friend was back home, safe and sound, but she had no doubt that it would take some time for Mitsu to recover. And even then, how much would this experience have changed her? A little? A lot?
Before long, she found herself in front of the familiar door. After a bit of hesitation, the baku lifted her hand and rapped her knuckles against the door. "Aniki? Mitsu? Umm, it's Xiu. I hope I'm not bothering you, but..."

Having just been relaxing for a bit when he heard a knock at the door, Shun looked over in that direction before casting a glance to Mitsu. Though, he soon heard Xiu's voice on the other side. Getting up, he made his way towards the door and opened it on up.
"Hello Xiu," he greeted quietly. Again, he shot a glance back towards the lycan to see if she would be willing to let the Baku in.
"Is everything well?" he asked her when he turned his attention back towards his adoptive little sister. It had been a little while since he last really spoke to her. But perhaps Lizzy filled her in on the current situation. The last time he really met with the baku, it was still a case of 'memory issues'. Or rather, an impostor.

Mitsu had been busy combing out Milo (who had been a white foxfire this whole time so shh) when the knock on the door came. It startled her enough that the brush in her hand went flying her eyes watching it as it arched in the air, hit the ground, bounced and vanished under the bed. Milo didn't seem to notice his brushing had been done he continued to wiggle happily on the bed content as Mitsu patted him instead.
Turning a leery gaze toward the door Mitsu soon heard Xiu's voice her eyes brightening slightly but there was still a hint of concern. Grabbing up the little puff of fur she held him close as she scooted off the bed. Shun had went to answer the door and Mitsu stood back a decent ways watching him converse with the baku on the other side. It...seemed safe?
Mitsu didn't have much of a reaction to give as Shun looked back at her. Mostly she just stared back. At least it wasn't a discouraging look?

The baku brightened slightly as the door opened, and she offered the reaper a small, pleasant smile. "Hi, aniki. Sorry to show up unannounced--I'm not bothering you guys, am I?" The last thing she wanted was to bother them while they were napping or something, as Jack knows that she wanted them to get their rest and recover.
She nodded quickly at the question before holding up the basket for him to see. "Yes! I just wanted to drop by and see how you two were doing, so I brought some snacks, tea, and this year's prom pictures." There was a pause, and then she held the basket handle out to Shun.
"I can always visit some other time if you two would prefer, though! I really just wanted to make sure you guys were okay, and drop off some tea and mooncakes."

Mitsu didn't give much of a response. But since she didn't say no and Shun felt it would be good for her to interact with her friends too, he decided that it was fine to let Xiu come on in. Stepping back, he opened the door a little more widely so the Baku can come inside.
"No, you're fine. We were just relaxing is all. I'm sure Mitsu would be very happy to see you. It's been awhile after all," he said quietly before moving back to sit over by the bed once more. He paused though, at the mention of moon cakes.
"Huh. I suppose it is about that time of year again, isn't it? Thank you by the way."

The foxfire in Mitsu's arms began to wiggle excitedly, his little feet trying to run toward Xiu despite being held up and against Mitsu. Perhaps he thought if he worked hard enough he could make Mitsu move or bring the other ghoul closer.
As the door was opened wider to allow Xiu entrance Mitsu rose a hand to wave keeping the other around Milo. A certain treat caught her attention though. Mooncakes. The baku seemed to remember it was a favorite and often reminded the lycan of the full moon festival and spending time with her parents.
When it was uncertain if Milo could wiggle any harder, honestly he was doing all the work here, Mitsu finally let him down and the little puff immediately bounded over to Xiu circling around her feet in a tiny blur of white.

Xiu seemed relieved to know that she hadn't come at a bad time, and when she was wordlessly invited inside, she slipped in after Shun. "Yup! I still remember when I had you help me make mooncakes last year. And don't mention it."
She smiled and gave a dismissive wave of her hand before turning to look at Mitsu, her expression immediately softening. Of course, she was excited to see her friend again, though the ghoul still told herself to be particularly gentle around the other ghoul. She didn't completely know how Mitsu was faring right now, after all, though it was a relief to see her here and safe. Before she could open her mouth and say anything, however, a certain foxfire decided to bounce over and say hi.
Laughing, Xiu crouched down so that she could pet the excitable little mini, giving it a few pats on the head before turning to smile up at Mitsu.
"Hi, Mitsu! It's almost time for the festival again, so I thought I'd bring you guys some mooncakes again this year. Umm, you like them, right?"

Shun took a moment to watch the two girls while sitting quietly.
"Ah yes, I remember that as well. I take it you managed to make them just fine this time around?" he asked. He looked between the two again. In fact, he recalled that he had made some for Mitsu. Or rather Xiu helped him make some for her.
"What kind of mooncake did you make this time around, Xiu?"

Milo couldn't have been more excited his little body nearly vibrating from happiness. His little feet couldn't stay still as he received pets, doing his best to push his head into Xiu's hand. Yes, pets, give me your love. At least that's what his beady little eyes said.
At the greeting after Mitsu rose her hand again in a silent hi finally taking a few steps closer so that she wasn't nearly across the room. She was also curious as to what kind of mooncakes Xiu had made though her direction was taking her closer and closer to Shun. Perhaps she was still a little wary, her hands nervously running through her short hair.

The ghoul grinned at the question, nodding her head enthusiastically. "Yes! The turned out pretty well, I think! They look almost just like the ones you can buy in the stores." But hopefully they would taste better, considering that they were fresh and homemade.
Xiu was more than happy to lavish love and attention on the foxfire, scratching him behind the ears with a little laugh. He certainly was an affectionate fellow, wasn't he? However, she straightened up when Shun asked about the mooncakes, moving to the basket and pulling out the tin box to show them.
"Ummm, I made different kinds! Red bean, lotus seed paste..." She paused to bend down and grab the thermos of tea, "And I made you guys some tea to go with it, since it's a little thick and dry without something to drink."
She noticed that Mitsu seemed a lot more skittish than she was before, and so--while pushing away the rather hostile thoughts when she thought about the hunters--Xiu made certain not to accidentally startle the poor ghoul. She offered the lycan another small smile, and then dived back into the basket to pull out the envelope.
"And these are the prom pictures from this year! There are a few of you two in the set, so I thought you'd like a copy."

"Sounds good, thank you Xiu," Shun nodded before pausing at the mention of tea. He sort of eyed her warily, "This isn't your special tea is it?"
As in the one that knocks people out. Last he saw Xiu he was more sleep deprived so....

Xiu had pulled out the tin with the mooncakes and Mitsu slowly eased forward to investigate. They looked really good, though anything Xiu made looked really good. Mitsu wished she could learn to make them like her mother had.
The tea hadn't even sparked a thought until Shun asked if it was Xiu's special tea. Suddenly Mitsu was leery to try it not really wanting to dive back into her dreams. She managed to doze here and there but mostly she avoided the whole adventure afraid of what she would relive. Mitsu already saw things during her waking hours it would be hard enough to think she was actually experiencing it all over again for real.
She did, however, reach for the envelope with the Prom photos. While it seemed so long ago at this point it was still a happy memory that she clung to. Over all Mitsu had really enjoyed Prom and was excited to see pictures...even if her facial expression was having a hard time showing it.
When Xiu produced the tin Milo was certain she had a treat for him. Instantly the pup went into his routine of tricks he knew hoping one would land him a treat like it normally did. Too bad no one explained to him that it was easier to get a treat when he was actually asked to do a trick. Oh well, it didn't stop him from sitting down, then laying down, rolling over and promptly sitting up and offering a little paw. Surely that would get him something, those little beady eyes looking at Xiu expectantly.

Xiu puffed her cheeks out at the question. "Of course not! I assure you that I would warn you ahead of time if I made you a batch of...of my 'special tea', as you put it." Her tail lashed behind her as she pouted up at the reaper, cheeks still puffed out like a blowfish.
When she turned back to see that Mitsu was reaching for the prom pictures, however, the ghoul's expression immediately changed to that of a smile. She leaned forward to hand it to her, drawing back when the envelope was in Mitsu's hands. "You two looked really great that night! Judging by the pictures, I think my camera really loved you guys too."
Her attention was then diverted to Milo--the most precious of foxfires--as he went through...tricks? A whole bunch of tricks, it seemed, though the baku couldn't fathom why he would suddenly perform so many of them in a row. It was adorable, to be sure, but...oh!
Xiu looked from the tin of mooncakes, to the mini, and then back. Aah, now she understood. "You don't want these! Though umm, I might have something that you'll like." Prompting stuffing the tin of mooncakes at Shun, the ghoul dug through her obi until she produced a small bag of mini treats, pouring one into her hand and stooping down. "I made these for my own minis, but I'm sure they won't mind sharing. Good boil, Milo!"

Shun eyed Xiu a little more, before nodding to her.
"Alright. I'll keep that in mind for the future," he stated before moving to go take a look at the pictures as well. He went ahead and pulled a photo or two out of the envelope. Immediately his gaze softened as he saw a nice picture of the two of them together. Silently, he showed it off to his lycan.
"Thank you Xiu, I don't think I had seen any of the pictures from this year till now," he said, then reached for the tin of mooncakes to try one.
"Would you two like one?" he offered before looking to the Baku "I take it you've settled back in your room just fine then?"

With the envelope in her hands Mitsu carefully removed the pictures to look through. There were a lot of faces some she was good friends with and some she was only familiar with. They were all happy and smiling frozen in that moment that was Prom. Shun had began to search through a few pictures as well and managed to turn up one of the two of them together.
Looking at it curiously Mitsu touched the picture slightly looking at the way she had been. Why did that moment feel like it had been years ago? It felt so distant. The memory was still there it just didn't seem as fresh as other things. Not to mention she looked very different now even in the short span of time. Carefully her fingers touched her hair in the photo before they pulled back to run through the short cut hair she currently had with a frown.
When it seemed Xiu had something for him Milo began to wiggle excitedly. He turned in a quick circle as she stooped down toward him and quickly investigated her hand as soon as it was offered. It didn't seem to matter that it hadn't come from the tin he didn't know the difference. All Milo knew was it was food and it was tasty.
Having demolished the treat in no time Milo sniffed Xiu's hands for remains licking her fingers to make sure he had gotten everything before he promptly went through his routine of tricks again. This time at the end he stood up on his hind feet and lifted both of his front paws in a begging motion. He knew how to work it.
