The day had dawned bright only to have dusky grey clouds drift forward to cover the sun and strike up a chill breeze. There was the threat of rain hanging in the air, or perhaps something a touch more threatening like a storm, either way it had driven most in doors. However this was the sort of day that pulled Arrakis outdoors. She wasn’t overly fond of the hot, dry, overly crowed streets during the summer or spring. That wasn’t to say that Arrakis was antisocial, because this simply wasn’t the case. She just didn’t enjoy stupid talk, or endless questions, or the looks that people often gave her when she answered their endlessly stupid questions. If one didn’t want to know the answer to a question then one shouldn’t ask. She firmly believed in the motto too stupid to live, she was just sure that some people were just dragging society down.
Though she wouldn’t say it, she felt that everyone should be given and IQ test and if they didn’t pass then they should either be short or made sterile. This might just be her being a bit harsh of course; her mother would be stunned to learn that she thought such things. Her mother was a gentle lady, a princess with impeccable manners, who had all the grace and tact of a duchess. At times it drove Arrakis up the wall, she hated it that her mother could just accept things and never get angry. That her mother never had a harsh thing to say and was always patient; she wasn’t sure her mother had the ability to raise her voice.
Arrakis shook her head to rid herself of such thoughts, the tip of her tail flicking as she wrapped it around her feet. She had sat her pencil down at some point during her mind wanderings. She plucked it back up now and returned to her writing, she was a bit annoyed with the breeze as it constantly kept trying to turn her page but even this couldn’t damper her spirits completely. She set back to writing tuning the world out once more. ((Hope there is enough there to reply to.)))

It didn't take much to annoy Neoma. Being serious nearly all the time she lost all humor out of conversations and took teasing as more attacks instead of the banter it usually was. So when her housemates decided to crack a joke or two she did not find it funny. It got her so riled up that she had to leave the house for fear of killing the idiots. And with her powers she very well could have if she got out of control. Once outside thought she relaxed. Neoma loved when it was dreary out. For some reason it made her comfortable and gave a wonderful ache to her bones that made her want to go out into a dark section of the forest and experiment with some of her bone manipulation. She wondered if she could extend her spine into a sort of extra tail or if that would be too much for her body to handle. The thought of it sent a masochistic thrill through her and she found herself hurrying toward the cave she knew was in the farthest part of the forest.
Of course it was going to take her about an hour or so to get there, which was almost too much time considering she would eventually have to walk back. And it was always a hassle convincing herself to go back. Perhaps she could go to her moms? Though that house was always......chaotic. She thought about all the problems her family was going through and she knew that that wasn't an option either. Frustrated she found herself just wandering around.
It took a few minutes but finally she spotted someone writing a bit of a way ahead of her. Slowing down she wondered if this would only annoy her further or actually be interesting. Casting a look toward the sky she closed her eyes in prayer to the hidden moon, asking for guidance and protection from those inferior to her intellect before finally approaching the other female. "May I ask what you're writing?

Arrakis was shocked when she heard someone else’s footsteps and even more shocked when she looked up to find a female walking her way. She was silent for a long moment observing the female before she tucked her hair behind her ear and shrugged. “Poetry, of sorts.” She stated softly looking the female up and down before looking down at what she was writing. She wasn’t sure she wanted this other snooping about and into what she was writing. People tended to not fully understand the stuff she wrote. When people thought of poetry they thought, of the bright happy love poems, and the things she wrote were far from bright and happy and were so far removed from love poems it was hard to think of them as poetry at times. Still she enjoyed them and it gave her something to do, so despite how mortified most people were when they read her stuff she kept writing. She just preferred not to let those around her read it.
“Might I inquire what you are doing out here? I... am curious, most are inside right now.” She whispered softly, and there was no sound of judgment in her voice. Just a sort of quiet curiosity that lingered softly in the back.

Poetry. Wasn't exactly what she had assumed. The lingering thought of a diary entry slipped away in her thoughts. She tried not to dwell on the thoughts that were insignificant. "Of what sorts?" She didn't try to get much closer, she didn't like getting into many people's space, and certainly wouldn't have wanted her to get to far into her space. There was a line between curious and nosy and while her curiosity often sparked she made sure she always remained a safe distance away so that the other didn't feel pressured into talking to her, or felt like she was prying into their business.
Still she wondered what sort of poetry. She wasn't a big fan of many literally works, and she certainly wasn't into writing any herself. She wasn't exactly gifted in anything creative, and most humor completely escaped her. The only type of poetry she considered her liking was Edgar Allen Poe. And only his darker and twisted works could soothe her little dark places.
"Getting away. It's nothing more then that." It was probably a thousand times more complex in a way but she didn't exactly share the fact that she regularly went out and manipulated her bones in weird ways just because she could. And ranting about the annoyance of her housemates wasn't that thrilling either. "Besides I like it when it gets like this out. It just makes me want to go out and do things. You?"

Arrakis inclined her head slightly before giving a soft waver with her hand. “Complicated sorts.” She said softly before looking back up at the other. She was silent for a long moment, her eyes watching the other, calculating. She wasn’t sure if she should trust this femme, but something told her that it would be alright. Perhaps it was the fact the other was out on such a dreary day, or maybe it was the polite distance, either way she felt it might be alright to let her know just what it was she was writing.
“Of the dark sort, I suppose. I’m not sure if you are aware of one Edgar Allen Poe, but it’s a bit like his poetry. His… darker poetry. Perhaps a bit darker, and more morbid than his writings, but along the same general lines as such.” She said giving a small shrug as she nodded her head once more.
“Ah, getting away, I can understand that.” She said with a soft smile. She was often attempting to get away, be it from her mother, her brother, people in general. She wasn’t exactly the most social person ever and she often wanted to just be left alone.
“I suppose you could say I was also getting away. I enjoy days like this, the atmosphere is invigorating, and the lack of others about is pleasant. The power from the coming storm is almost intoxicating. Days like this are perhaps my favorite.” She gave a small shrug, it was true. The feeling on days like this was something that gave her energy. It drove her to do things, to be active and it wasn’t something that happened often. “What is it you were planning to do? Any special plans or just wandering until something interests you?”
