Aiushtha sat on a small 'island' in the middle of a spring. On this island, was a large oak tree, hollow in the trunk and covered in glorious leaves. Her eyes were closed and she was rocking back and forth, mumbling to herself. This was the same thing she did every morning; meditating to her Life Tree for a good day, praying that it will guide her and keep her safe as he always has. Around her, butterflies flitted to and fro, attracted to the sweet scent that always clung to her - a mixture of flowers and fruit.
Her rocking stop and she ended with her snout pressed to the ground and stayed that way for a few moments before she stood, pressing her lips to the trunk of the tree. Turning, she entered the spring and swum the short distance to the shore, exiting the crystal clear water and shaking herself dry. Across the shore, lay a pile of sharp sticks, a satchel and a leather water skin. The satchel and water skin were hung at her side, a sharp stick picked up in her mouth. The jungle was dangerous, she wasn't exactly sure who or what she'd come across in such a place it was why she only ventured out this far once a week to collect food and anything else she found interesting.
After making sure she had everything she needed, she set off forward, humming softly.

The bokh was eating away at him. It was time to feed on more than just grass--which had never satiated himself for very long. He moved through the dense jungles, brushing the thick folliage away with his knife held ready. The sweltering heat was pleasant as it clung to him, he could hear the soft sounds of the jungle so clearly with his half-lidded eyes. He heard the soft sounds of glas creeping to him. Someoen was singing, a chey he could tell. He moved slower through the jungle, weaving his way to her sound interested in if she be friend or foe. His hooves move without sound as he makes his way over there, his eyes closed and the sounds guiding him. He listened ad finally opened his eyes to watch as she moved and glided from the trees. He called out to her, revealing himself, "Chindilan?"

Aiushtha heard the footsteps and stopped dead in her tracks. The voice came next and she turned, eyes landing on one who looked like her. She'd never met anyone else and for that reason at this moment she was terrified to the very core. the sharp object in the stallions mouth, mixed with the blood on his coat and the skulls that adorned him didn't help, either.
The words he spoke made no sense to her and she tilted her head, legs ready to bolt should she need to. She knew this jungle like the back of her hoof. With this knowledge and her speed, she'd be able to lose him easily.
"What do you want?" Her voice was raspy and a little shaky, much to her annoyance. She didn't want to let herself look weak. She made a point to make the sharpened stick in her mouth rather obvious.

The stallion inclined his head with half-closed eyes, "You are Gadji. Sometimes, I forget myself and speak in my own language." He picked at her through his lowered lids. The way the butterflies flitted around her, the spots on her back like a deer. The leaves and bangles and tufts. He had her her easily byt all thse contraptions in the woods.
"I do not wish you harm, I am a traveler. I am Roma, some call us gypsy." He made a face at the word, "We roam the earth and let it take us where it will. The call for somewhere new is always present and we linger only a short time. But we do not expect the Gadji to understand that calling." He paused delicately, "I was asking if you were weary?
As a hunter, he could taste the fear on her. It wreaked. She was anxious, ready to bolt. She was wound tight like a string ready to surge forward at the slightest provocation. He wanted to let her know that he was not dangerous (as he believed she was not) but how could one undo the initial image of walking up wielding a blade? It wasn't that easy to overcome.

Aiushtha tilted her head. "Ro..ma.." It was not a word she was familiar with. But then, she wasn't familiar with most words. She had a fairly decent grasp on the language; something the 'enchanted' creatures of the forest taught her. Sometimes her voice would change into odd tones - the chirp of a bird, the squeak of a squirrel. It just depended on who had taught her what.
"Not weary." She replied, mouth dry from the heavy, frantic breathing her fear produced. "Afraid." It didn't occur to her that the two words had similar meanings. How could one think of such a thing when they didn't know it existed?
Teal eyes glanced around, always finding themselves back to the blood at his feet. A hunter? She knew that word. She had never hunted. Once or twice, she'd taken the corpses of animals that had died, the familiars in her land helping her remove the fur to keep her cold during winters. She continued this act; but it was never inside her lands. Never anyone she knew or loved. Never a friend.
"No hunt here," she stomped her foot, glaring. "No."

Raphael watched her reaction. Often, he had hunted creatures that did like this. They panted and ran, their fear driving them onwards and to their doom. Seldom did they use their fear to help them escape, seldom did they do anything but panic and let it drive them into distraction.
She had the very same look on her face as most of the prey did right before he brought his knife down.
He knew he must be terrifying to her with his bloody appearance and knife. Carefully, he let the mouth fall from his mouth to the leaves below. "I won't hunt here. I don't kill for pleasure either. I only kill to eat. It doesn't make the death any less...but it is not pointless, it is not wasteful."
He was trying to explain himself to her, but why? He didn't owe her an explanation but he did want to explain. "I am a hunter, but I am not evil. I will not harm you."
He wasn't sure if she understood or if she cared to understand what he was saying. Hopefully, she could look past him--past what he looked like but if not he would leave her in peace.

As the knife fell so did some of Aiushtha's fear. Her muscles relaxed, her eyes no longer wide and her heart beat slowed. The only fear left was the fear she felt every day she traveled these woods. The fear of the unknown. She watched the stallion with careful eyes, a quizzical look on her face. Her familiars had told her there were others like her in the lands but she had never come across one until now.
She raised a hoof, leaning forward a little. Hesitant. After a few seconds, she placed the hoof down and poked her nose at the stallion, sniffing at him. He didn't smell any different from her, really. If she ignored the smell of past hunts that seemed to linger on him, they smelt the same. They were the same.
Aiushtha stepped back. "Aiushtha." Stomping her foot at the stallion, she asked. "You?" Her tone and pronunciation trilled. She'd learnt this from a bird. The butterflies around her flitted across her face and she blew a breath of air at them.

Raphael smiled lightly as she sniffed at him. Her face seemed so mistrusting of him, so hostile and at the same time so uncertain. It was an interesting study. He'd learned from his father to study things--to study prey and other soquilli. You could learn so much through simple observation, that was certain.
He pondered over her name, let it roll around in his mouth before he spoke again. "I am Raphael of the Romani." He inclined his head at the mare gently. She seemed wholly unused to him. Was it just males or was it all soquili kind?
There seemed to be a wild air about her as though she was untamed, and possibly unlearned in some ways. Stupid by no means, just not learned in the usual ways. It appeared she relied more on instinct than anything.
He lowered his eyes gently, resting them from the sun. "Is this where you live? I'm sorry to intrude."

"Ra..Raphael..," the name came out slowly; his accent wasn't something she was used to and it took her a moment to get used to trying to mimic him. Shifting in place, she glanced around awkwardly.
This wasn't her home.. but it was close enough.
"Not here," she replied, looking around. "Further away. Days."
It was a lie and had she grown up not raised by animals, she might have felt bad. All she knew at that moment was that there was a strange stallion stomping around her forest. She had decided he wasn't a threat at current, but it didn't mean she trusted him.
"Your home?" She asked, raising a brow. If he lived close, that could be a problem. It would only be a matter of time before he stumbled across her spring..

He could hear the lie in her voice, but he didn't press it. Let her have it if she liked, it was not of importance really since he was just trying to be nice.
"I'm visiting the area. We'll be here a few days for a hunt, then we'll be leaving to go back and see my mother." He had left to go on a special hunt with his father Lucian.
"Our home is where we journey, it has no set place. We move as the wind blows us, we let it take us where it wills. We have no home but what is in our hearts." He smiled, he wished he could make her understand more that he wasn't a threat but maybe she would understand in time.

Aiushtha tilted her head to the side. We? She understood that word. It meant more strangers on her land. She frowned lightly, not wanting to bring someone else close to her. If he wasn't standing in front of her she didn't care.
Hunting.. This was close to her lands still. Close to her friends. She moved past he stallion and began trudging away from the way she came. "Not here. No hunt. Follow," she called over her shoulder to the stallion. She'd take him away from the area and then get back to her own business.
