The warm woods beckon on a day like today. You can hear birdsong and the earth smells comforting beneath your paws. But even beautiful things can be deadly, as I'm sure the stories have reminded you time and time again...

What's a couple of warren rabbits doing out in the forest anyway? Seems a large group of does, and one sole buck, have taken it upon themselves to delve into the foliage; but why? Tell me what brings you out here, soft paws....

Rules and Game Info

- You must post an introduction to your rabbit at the very least before the game officially begins at 1 PM CST. It could be two lines long for all I care, but you must have some sort of rp post.

- Questions will start at 1 PM CST; you will have 1 hour to respond, or until everyone has posted their answer- whichever comes first.

- Rabbits that fail to make the timeframe will be DQ'd; your bun won't die, you just won't get to play. If you won flayrah but then DQ'd, you will not receive your flayrah point.

- When choosing an answer, please put the letter of choice somewhere in your post, such as ((I choose A)) as well as a bit of rp about your rabbit completing the action.

- There are two pieces of Flayrah to find, but there's also two elil out in the woods. Keep your wits about you and you should be just fine. First Flayrah will be rolled among those that made the 'right' choice in a certain situation, and the last will be rolled at the end among all the survivors.

- There are 6 questions total, you are not obligated to stay until the very end. If at any point (besides a timed event after a question you have already answered) your rabbit takes fright and decides to head for home, they may do so.

- I do my best to make this believable, or at the very least true to the Watership theme. Not everyone will agree with my story-telling, and I'm sorry for that. I do the best I can, and if you find this unenjoyable, I suggest waiting for another staff member to hold a game <3

Hope you all have fun!

This was the day. The young rabbit was going to explore the forest, and this time, she wasn't going to be scared off. She was Catnip, a brave explorer, and brave explorers didn't run off before even entering scary places. No matter what.

And she'd show those boys who thought that she wasn't as good as they were.

The forest was different. Large. Rainfall was still a youngish doe and she hadn't ventured far from the warren in her lifetime, but she was filled with resolve and determination. Still, she worried she might go tharn if danger appeared. She wasn't quite sure what to expect as she turned her soft eyes upwards, to the thick canopy. Warm sunlight trickled down and it was a beautiful sight, but not one she was completely taking in. She was watching or elil.

"We'd better find something tasty."

Feverfew shoved past the smaller doe, nearly bowling her over, as she shoved her nose to the earth, sniffing through the tender grass shoots for anything to bring home. They were soft and succulent, but not what either doe was looking for.

"Hey, watch it. Be more careful!" The younger doe piped up as she regained her balance, a small scowl on her features as she passed Feverfew. She then sat up on her haunches, ears swiveling as she kept watch for elil.

((Posting from my phone; sorry if there's typos!))

"Are you sure this is safe?"

Thicket grinned at his friend. "Perfectly safe. Never fear, m'lady. Thicket is here! And besides, we won't go too far in. Just far enough to get away from the warren a bit. There's a big, beautiful world out here, Cicely, and it would be remiss of us to ignore it out of cowardice."

For her part, Cicely wasn't too sure. The doe glanced about nervously, watching for any of the Owsla. She was committed to this adventure, but the woods were frightening enough. She didn't want to get in trouble with the warren authorities as well. "S-so long as we don't get lost. And we're back before anybody notices we're gone." She trusted Thicket. The buck had been her friend since they were outskirters, but he was certainly the more reckless of the two.

A third rabbit was also drifting nearby. She was a little younger than the conversing pair, and as was her custom, she took little notice of them. Her business was with the trees, not other rabbits. Besides, if they figured out what she was up to, they might have reported her. She might have been called Lamb's Ear, but a lamb she was not. The doe was stubborn and fearless- this coupled a rebellious streak had her headed for the forest. She wanted to explore and find better, more interesting things, and she knew they could be found in the forest. She figured that if any elil showed their ugly snouts, she'd just outrun them, as was a rabbit's birthright. Their legs had been blessed once, after all. Show her an elil who'd been given that.

((No worries Scara! Glad everyone made it heart
Trying to make this one a little more difficult than the last game. Hopefully it's not too dangerous o: ))

You don't need to go far to see where man sometimes comes through. Broken and bent branches, a more clear path through the woods, but it's been a long time since anyone's been this way. Or any animal for that matter.

You can't say the same for the underbrush you're passing through. There's a heavy musk here, and you can't help but crinkle your nose at the cloying smell. By Frith, what on earth is that? Seems you should know, but perhaps you've never smelled it before, or just can't quite remember.

A - I... am pretty sure I don't want to stay in the underbrush. Whatever is stinking up the place probably isn't friendly to rabbits.

B - Nothing good ever comes from crossing, or using, a path of man. It's just too quiet, I'd rather stay in cover.

The underbrush smelled, and Catnip wrinkled her nose at the unfamiliar scent. What was that? She sniffed the air again, and then peered out of the underbrush. She could see a clear path, with broken and bent branches, but it didn't look as if anyone, animal or otherwise, had been down it for a while. Maybe that meant that it wasn't safe.

And that would be bad. Maybe it would be a better idea to stay in the underbrush, even if it did have an icky smell permeating it. At least she knew that something was using it, and even if the creature that made the smell was unfriendly, it certainly had to be safer than the unused path.

(A)

"What is that stench?"

Feverfew wrinkled her nose and glanced up at her sort-of-friend who had taken to watching for danger. She did not like the smell, nor did she like the look of the path ahead of them, even though it hadn't been used.

"I don't know. I don't see anything. Maybe we should cross. Just in case." Rainfall dropped to all four paws and inhaled the cloying scent, doing her best to decipher it. She just couldn't remember. Both does exchanged a glance and nodded. They did not want to stick around and become a snack for elil. Perhaps it was safer in the brush on the other side.

After another quick look for danger and, when they thought it was safe, they darted over the path in an effort to reach the other side.

Lamb chooses A; Cicely and Thicket choose B.

The smell was too much for Lamb's Ear, and she was sure that the path was long abandoned. Darting in and out of cover until she was satisfied nothing was going to eat her, the grey doe stepped cautiously into the cleared. She kept her ears and eyes alert for strange sounds, shapes, and shadows, as well as the alien, telltale glint of wire- snares were just as dangerous as predators, if not more so.

Cicely put on a brave face, but truth be told, the doe was nervous and unsettled. "Let's stick to the brush, Thicket. I'd rather face something with four legs than the possibility of traps or coming across a man with poison or worse."

Thicket found himself forced to agree with her. "I don't like the smell here any more than you, but I am not dumb enough to risk man. We'll stay in here until we find a safer place to cross."

1 - Feverfew
2 - Rainfall
3 - Lamb's Ear

Edit:
---------------------------------------------------------------------

The three rabbits hurried to cross the path, but one of the does suddenly felt something sharp suddenly bite across her throat, and couldn't move forward.

There was a reason the underbrush had the stink of Embleer all over it. A clever fox might be able to snag whatever fell into a hunter's old snare before the human came back to claim it. If the human ever came back to claim it.

Lamb's Ear, you have been ensnared!

Feverfew and Rainfall can try to bite through the wire, or undo the trap. But they only have a few minutes before that fox comes back to see what all the commotion is about...

Aurrie, if you want to attempt to free Lamb, you have 15 minutes to do so.

- Post at least one line of rp and roll a d8, you must get an 8 to chew through the wire, or at least loosen it enough that Lamb may slip out.

- You can roll once per minute, for 15 minutes, starting at the time of your first post attempt.

- If 15 minutes pass, the fox will be upon the three of you, and there's no guarantee he'll go after the easy meal that'll certainly be there once he gets back from hunting down a rabbit...

- If you choose to hurry along, simply say so and I'll continue on, and Lamb's Ear will perish from the snare. You may also opt to have one of your does stay behind to try and help, and the other hurry along as well, you can split them up.

A wire!

Both does hurried back for the third that was snagged, hearts beating like mad as they chewed at and tried to loosen the wire.

The wire was hard and hurt Rainfall's teeth, but she continued to pull at it, anyway, doing her best to loosen it from about the doe's neck. Feverfew studied it in an effort to understand the way it worked better.

"Try not to pull!" She told the snared doe.

((Good work! That was quicker than I thought it would be. But glad it didn't come down to the *cough* wire. 8D; ))

Pulling the snare loose enough for Lamb's Ear to pull her head free with a wheeze, she's able to run free, though not without a thin cut through her skin around her neck. A painful reminder, if nothing else.

For those that stayed in the underbrush...

Perhaps you didn't see, but maybe you heard the other rabbits cross. And maybe heard the ordeal with the snare, with a shudder. At least it wasn't you.

But now that musky smell is so heavy you can hardly breathe. You're not far from a hole in the earth, half covered by bramble. It might be safer in there, at least wait out whatever is making that smell. Otherwise, you can continue on, it looks like it gets clearer up ahead, and maybe you can see for a bit further and find a better path.

A - That hole does look like a good idea, especially if something comes by to check out the snare.

B - It's not my hole, so I certainly don't trust it, I'd rather keep moving. *goes on ahead*

C - Maybe... I'd rather cross that man-made path after all. I'm really not liking this, and I'd rather go with the other rabbits.
---------------------
For those that crossed the path...

Hearts hammering, you all make it safely to the other side. Somehow. Grateful for your lives, you dive into a thicket. The air is much cleaner over here, and in fact, smells rather sweet.

A - Wait here for just a bit, I need to catch my breath.

B - I don't want to stick around to see what happens next, and I think I can hear something ahead. Sound's like... water.

C - I'm not staying, and I'm not going towards that sound either. Forget that, I'm heading deeper into the bramble.

Rainfall - B
Feverfew - C

Both Feverfew and Rainfall's hearts were racing. The pair of does didn't hang around on the path once the third doe was free, but darted into the brush on the other side. Both leaned into each other, trembling at the thought of how close death nearly came to them.

The air was cleaner, here.

"We can't stay, too close to the snare, too close to elil. D'you hear that? Water. We should go towards it."

"You can go. I'm not gonna. It's safer in this here bramble. Gonna stay in it. You can go get drowned or picked off by a fox if you want." Feverfew grumbled unhappily.

"We'll meet back up here."
