Pihkasow was fed up. As he wandered through the grass, kicking dirt and small rocks, he mumbled to himself about how stupid his brother was being, and how he was tired of being jerked around like he was. He was so full of indignance that he hadn't even noticed the size of that last rock he'd kicked, and boy did his toes ever hurt now. He flopped into a seated position, huffing and blowing his bangs away from his eyes as they fell when he sat. All he wanted was a little bit of love, and everything just had to get all complicated all the time. He was so tired of it...
He glanced about casually, watching the horizon for any signs of movement, and when he was satisfied that he hadn't spotted anything, he flopped over again, this time onto his side, a little cloud of dust kicking up around him. He lay in the grass, staring at a little beetle climbing up a blade. He huffed and heaved sighs and mumbled more as he lay there. He didn't know what to do now, his brother had sent him off, and he was so tired of fighting he'd just left. 'What a jerk...' the large orange-furred male thought to himself.

Maleficar stalked forward, watching a hare as it hopped about munching on grass. It thought it was safe, thought it could see and hear everything around it. Its ears had not even swiveled her way. What a stupid creature it was. The leopardess smiled as she watched it and crept ever closer to the unsuspecting rabbit. She was going to enjoy pouncing this little thing and eating it. If she was in a worse mood she might have toyed with it before she killed it, but her mood rarely got that bad these days. That damn Dysi's doing... making her go soft and cheerful! Bah! Maleficar heard something moving nearby, something not quiet at all, and it kept getting closer. The hare heard it as well and it's ears swiveled toward the sound and then hit sat up on its haunches to see what it was. Apparently whatever it was did not please the rabbit, for it took off running. The leopardess gave a small sigh and took off after the rabbit, catching it within a few steps. She really had been close enough to catch it for a while, but had not felt like exerting the energy to run after the creature when she could just sneak right up on it. The way she landed on it, she silenced the creature before it even died at her paws. With the rabbit dead, and no attention needed on the hunt anymore, Maleficar raised her head over the rocks she was behind and looked for the source of the noise. What she saw was a bright lion, that looked quite sour in mood. She got to see him flop down and make a dust cloud. The leopardess shook her head and ducked back behind the rock. Hmm, a lion in a foul mood, interesting. She picked up the dead rabbit and hopped onto a nice big rock to lay down with it between her paws. "Someone is in a frump." She had to tease the male about it, it was just a rule. "Almost cost me my lunch." Not even close, but still.

Pihka looked up from his spot in the dirt lazily, not even bothering to lift his head. As he turned his gaze to the sky, he spotted a female leopard. It had been a long time since he'd seen a leopard around, strange. He rolled his eyes and groaned. "Oh, like I caaaare about your lunch. Some of us have much bigger problems, honey." He said sarcastically, lifting a brow at her and then propping himself up on his forepaws. Pihka was no stranger to this game, he put up with Nadie, after all. And she was pretty difficult at times too. He wasn't gonna let this female best him, especially in a bad mood.
He eyed the rabbit, "But I bet that would be an easy catch for someone of your lovely stature." He changed his furrowed brow and wrinkled nose to a little mischievous grin as he flipped his bangs from before his eyes. "That's a pretty big bunny-rabbit you got there." He said with a wink.
She wanted to tease...two played that game as far as Pihka was concerned.

Maleficar looked smug as could be. "You should care about my lunch. If you had chased it away, I might have had to eat you." She sounded serious, but really, she probably would have batted him around, roughed him up, and left him rather than eaten him. He was a lion after all, and a leopard could only rough most lions up so much before the greater muscle mass of the lion won out. While it might have been an empty threat on eating him, the leopardess was no less serious that there would have been consequences for his costing her her lunch. She was much more worried about having something to eat and surviving than whatever was bothering this lion.
Maleficar ignored the rabbit between her legs for a little big longer, though. She had caught it, so she could eat it whenever she liked now. For the moment she was going to continue to bother the lion. "Does the widdle frumpy lion have problems? Aww, poor widdle lion." She was enjoying teasing him way too much. He was just so dramatic it made it fun. Of course, this was one time where she thought Dysi might approve of her teasing and toying with someone. Ah, Dysi, the adorable pansy leopard, Maleficar really needed to stop thinking about him so much.
Maleficar laughed, a not so pleasant sound really, at the lion's compliments. "Of course it is an easy catch. Usually, I don't have to chase it down, though." She gave a smug look at the rabbit. "It is a bigger bunny rabbit than you likely could catch, Frumpy." Her smug look grew a bit and the leopardess started eating her meal. She did not bother to paint herself in its blood or anything like she might have usually. She would rather just sit here in front of the lion and eat, and when she finished eating, the true fun would begin.

"Oh...pffbbbtt...haha...yeah!" Pihka almost choked on his words, "don't make me laugh! Hahahaha." and he burst into a deep, hearty chuckle anyways. He didn't mean to lose his cool but he found it positively hilarious that this female thought that she could best him in strength as well as intellect. The intellect part he had considered as at least a slight possibility, though he had been trained well in those sneaky female mind-games lately, but strength? Pffffft! He rolled his eyes.
"Funny you should ask that anyways, because it's creatures such as yourself that cause such grief and distraughtness in males everywhere. I'm just tired of being a toy, so I'm prepared to not put up, with your attitude. Thank you. Miss." Pihka said, adding a little nod at the end for emphasis, and looked away from her, as though he were staring off into the distance, and he narrowed his eyes- though he was still watching her in his peripherals, and his ears were swiveled back slightly.
"I don't even catch bunny rabbits. I catch real food." The large orange-furred lion huffed, blowing his bangs out of his face. He lifted a brow, waiting to gauge her reaction to his words and actions.

Maleficar's muzzle slowly curled into a cruel smile as she watched the male laugh. He was an idiot, but let him remain that way. He likely thought strength was the only factor in a fight or some such rot. She would deal with giving him a lesson otherwise only if she thought it necessary, and right now was not that time, not yet anyway. "I am afraid I was quite serious." She yawned as the male started blaming the strife of males on females like herself. She was the strife of everyone, not just males. Really, it was not hard to be the strife of everyone... okay not everyone, she was nice to Dysi, but that was a different story all together.
"Ah, so female problems having you in such a tail twist. I can relate to that, male problems ever so often do the same to me.... and then I just make someone bloody over it." Maleficar shrugged as if this was of no consequence and finally took a bite from her rabbit. It was a nice fat rabbit, best kind in her opinion. "Any food is real food when one lives on their own. I find rabbits amusing to hunt when I want a light lunch. Truthfully they bleed just as readily as anything else, though. Large game is usually only my target when I am planning to stay in one place... and I rarely do that."
Maleficar turned her attention to her meal since the male seemed determined to not put up with her. It really did not bother her that he wanted to ignore her. If he wished to continue the conversation, she would, if not, she had a rabbit to eat. The leopardess laid on her rock doing just that, enjoying her rabbit meal and wondering what she would catch later. Maybe she would go after a snake. There were ones without poison she could get her paws on. She would rather not risk venom when there were ones without such dangerous things that one could hunt.

The big lion was growing annoyed now, his plan wasn't working. Why had he honestly expected it to? Everyone knows that the best way to annoy someone ignoring you was to ignore them because then they just get mad and end up talking to you again. Pihka wasn't going to talk to her again just yet...he tightened his lips and furrowed his brow, still staring off into the distance. He could hear that she was eating her rabbit, and he waited, his gaze scanning the horizon as he tried not to pay attention to her. It was annoying because she was reminding him of Nadie, and also because he kind of liked being treated that way for some stupid reason.
He flicked his tail in agitation, swiveling his ears further toward her and waiting...the lion shuffled his paws in the dirt, hearing ripping and crunching as the leopardess ate. It seemed like she was taking forever on purpose, and it was making Pihka feel as though he would possibly explode.
"Make someone bloody...yeah. Good idea. Rip that stupid brother of mine to shreds, huh?" He turned, his gaze settling on the leopardess intensely, his ears now laid back into his mane.

Maleficar only watched the male out of the corner of her eye, but she knew by the sound that he was getting tired of his game of ignore the female. She thought it both sad and amusing. He really was an idiot for getting all huffy with her, especially since he felt the need for her company, while she really did not feel the same for his. Oh sure, she liked toying with him, but when it came right down to it, she had no problem just walking away and spending the day alone. The lion seemed to have no such ability as his paws shifted, his ears stayed turned toward her as she ate, and he finally spoke to her again.
Maleficar looked over when he spoke. "If it really would make you feel better, you always can. I have no siblings, so I would not know what is expected of them in behavior." Her mother had always taught her to look out for herself, first, though, and all other creatures were just tools or toys. This male would have benefited from a mother like hers. One that did not raise weak offspring. Maleficar could have had siblings that were not strong enough and got left behind. It is not as if she would have known it. It was an odd thought to have, since she was used to just not thinking about such things.
"The question stands, do you let him push you around? Because if you do, then you are making your own problems. The world is ruled by the strong. The weak often find themselves abused by the strong." Maleficar licked her chops as she finished her rabbit and let the remains lay. She stood, blood still on her muzzle and a bit on her paws and jumped off the rock she had perched on, approaching the lion. "It is up to each one of us if we will be the strong or the weak. It might simply be a matter of asserting yourself with this brother. You may not need blood to do that... Fear can work very well." Or pleasure, but she would not mention that. When she started giving advice, she was not sure, but eh, she would go with it.

Pihka waited a moment longer, staring at the leopardess until she spoke back. He heaved a little huff and flicked his tail, his ears twitching. "Well I'd say not to expect much. You're lucky. Mine was my best friend, but this stupid lioness..." He trailed off, rolling his eyes. "She's so perfect though. Ugghhh!" Pihka slumped onto the ground in frustration. As the leopardess got closer to him, blood-stained muzzle and all, he noted butterflies in his stomach momentarily. 'Of all the creatures on this earth...' he thought to himself. Why was this leopardess making him have feelings? She seemed legitimately evil to him. He rolled onto his side to get a little more space between them.
"I don't let anyone push me around, lady." He said, lifting his head to look at her properly."And I'm definitely not weak. You see the size of me?" Pihka grinned, standing again next to her, now overfilled with confidence rather than his pitiful, frustrated self of moments ago. "I'm WAY bigger than you. Right? So...I'm not weak." He sputtered, looking down at her now. Pihka puffed up his mane. "But I'm not gonna hurt my brother over some stupid girl, I just wish she would pick for crying out loud. I love her...he says he loves her...she won't pick between us...it just makes me so mad. I'm tired of it all." He admitted, not meaning to ramble on about the whole situation, especially to another female who he admittedly was finding attractive.

Maleficar laughed at the mention of love. She knew that was the term for what she felt for Dysi, but she would have NEVER admitted it. Love was a way to make one weak. "Of course she would not pick. She will likely wait for one of you to do it for her, so that in the meantime she can bask in the attention both of you are willing to lavish on her. It is a matter of ego really. No female is going to chase away a male willing to do things for her and treat her well." The leopardess sat down right there in front of the lion, which showed just how much of a threat she thought he was.
Maleficar started grooming her paws and muzzle, cleaning the blood off of them and giving the male a chance to gather his fluffy little thoughts. She paused in her grooming to say a bit more, though. "Size is not always strength. I know many creatures bigger than I whom are quite weak. The sway of a pretty tail can turn them into simpering idiots. Strength is in that fluffy head of yours as wells in the muscle it controls." She went right back to her grooming when she was finished saying her piece.
Maleficar found it odd that she cared to speak to the male when he had admitted to such a weakness as love for some lioness that was stringing him along. It was very strange to her to think of wishing so much to be the choice of another. She had not even WANTED Dysi around. She had done everything to chase him off, and he had just sat there and defied her. Now, now she made sure her path would cross with his every so often because she was attached to him and he had become the same to her.

The large male was again growing extremely annoyed that she continued to defy his boundaries that he was setting, but at the same time, he was intrigued because she made some good points. Pihka had never thought about Nadie like that, in his mind she was a fine piece of respectable tail. But now that the leopardess mentioned it, all these thoughts and memories of bringing her things only to STILL be denied, his brother, always trying to best his gifts. He huffed again and turned to the female, lifting a brow. "How exactly do you know so much about this stuff, anyways? You must be some kinda traitor to your gender." the orange-furred male said, grinning slyly. Not every female would be so keen to share their secrets with a male so easily. Maybe Pihka's attempts to keep her attention were actually working...
He watched as she cleaned herself and listened as she spoke, his ears pointed toward her. "But just because some lioness and some stupid brother are making me crazy doesn't mean I can't fight." He added, quirking his brow further and giving a little snort, flicking his tail.

Maleficar huffed and rolled her eyes at the accusation that she was a traitor to her gender. "I owe loyalty to none but myself. What is mine, is mine, period. I do not play the games of weakness many females indulge in, and I certainly will not hold their secrets so they can turn otherwise strong creatures into weaklings. The weak are meant to be played with by the strong, not the other way around." She was perhaps slightly respecting the male for having enough sense to see her points, though the fact that he was physically strong and obviously somewhat smart, and had fallen into the female's trap so easily was sad.
Maleficar wanted to box his ears for his idiocy. Why she cared was beyond her, but she did. "The fact that you allow them to make you crazy makes you an idiot. You have to take control, don't let others make you do anything, and certainly do not let them make you FEEL anything, unless it is on your terms." She reaches right up and pokes his nose. "You might be able to fight, but you certainly are not engaging your head properly. Perhaps if you wish it, I'll show you what a female that doesn't play at being weak can do. I am sure you will enjoy it if you choose to take it."

Pihka stared at her for a moment and again contemplated what the leopardess was saying to him. It made sense anyways, and he saw no reason to try and argue with her anymore, she was obviously gonna win. He wasn't really in the mood for it anymore today anyhow, to be perfectly honest. "Makes sense." He said, still staring at her, deciding to voice his thoughts. Well, the main part of them at least. While he was annoyed that she felt it necessary to get so close to him, something about her body language was still making him delightfully uncomfortable. "I guess I don't owe loyalty to anyone else. But I feel like I do...to my brother..." Pihkasow muttered for a moment then trailed off, looking away from the female. Why was he even going into so much detail with her? Did she really wanna hear his life's story? Likely not.
"Whatever. Nevermind them anyways then." He said, spitting on the ground just in front of his own paws, careful not to get it on her. He huffed as she prodded his nose, and let out a little low-pitched growl in a playful manner. "What, you're gonna show me how to engage my head properly?" He teased, lifting a brow at her and smirking. His tail flicked behind him and he watched her.

"Then let him have this pesky female if it means so much to him." Maleficar chuckled at how the male muttered and looked so very uncomfortable the closer she got. She knew the body language well. He was attracted to her, but not quite sure what to make of it. Ah she did love a good pliable male. They made things so much easier for her to get her way. Then again, she usually got her way anyway, but still it made things easier. She grinned at the male and wondered if he thought his spitting was going to keep her at bay. "I think I will show you how to engage something else properly before we get to the head." She stepped over the spit and rubbed herself against him, flicking his nose with her tail.
Maleficar was enjoying this little game, but really she had something better in mind for them to do than stand here and talk. She just needed to get the male to follow along like a good boy, and that could be difficult if he decided to resist on account of the "frustrating" female he said he was in love with. "I will show you what a female can do for you, rather than make you run around bringing gifts and fawning." The leopardess' grin turned very salutary and she started to walk off, flicking her tail to get him to follow. Even if he didn't at this point, she figured the conversation was done.
