Adedagbo sat back down on her haunches with a deep sigh escaping from her vocals. It was times like this that she wished she had stayed with her parents and siblings back at the pack. What drove her to run away? She cringed, shaking her head desperately trying to think of something else. She looked down as she kicked a small pebble back and forth with her little pup paws. Maybe if she was lucky someone would bump into her and they could go off and find something to do. Maybe find some more butterflies to chase. Oh, that sounded wonderful! A new friend to chase butterflies with! Maybe go to the creek for a quick dip. Oh, that would be splendid as Ade sure loved to swim there! The creek was hidden deep within a thicket. The tight branches of the bushes protected any predator from making their way in and some of the branches had thorns on them, but nothing like an itty bitty pup like Ade to keep out. She would snug her way through the tight branches. Sure, she had gotten scratched by the thorns a couples times, but Ade never gave up It was like her own little hiding place.
Her tail began to wag as she dawned more and more about the idea of meeting someone new—someone like herself, a little pup or cub to play with. She giggled, standing up and was about to turn around…Until she saw something dark move quickly from the corner of her eye. With a gasp, she saw something---someone avoid running right into her. Yipping out, she quickly hid behind a nearby tree with her head peeking out.
“What was that?” she gasped, blinking with wide curious eyes as she looked at the small body that had tumbled on the ground. It was a pup. No one she’s ever met before…dark in color with white, teal tipped ears. “A-Are you okay?” she stuttered, looking at him. “That was quite the fall. Do you hurt? You should probably watch where you’re going,” she giggled as she stepped a bit out from behind the tree.
