History/Background Elly lived her life in Winnipeg Manitoba. When Elly was young, she made a few friends, but not a large sum (people thought she was very... curious). She had one friend, though, a very good friend of hers named Alice. Alice and Elly were inseparable. They would always be together, talking, having fun, almost anything.
Elly's family was a very modern family and her parents were usually working, so she was often times alone, so she loved having company. Alice's family was average as well, but they also owned a farm, several miles outside of Winnipeg, for cows, sheep, chickens, goats, horses, and oh did Elly and Alice love horses. Alice's parents weren't comfortable inviting Elly to their farm without Elly's parents' permission, and since Elly's parents were very busy with work, she was never able to ask them. So Elly never went up to Alice's farm.
Finally, Elly's parents received a break from their jobs and Elly asked if it was okay for her to go to Alice's farm. Her parents thought about it for a few minutes and decided that it was okay. They were hardly ever home, and this could be fun for her. Elly excitedly called up Alice and told her the news. The two were incredibly happy with the news and began to pack for their trip.
Once there, Elly got to look around. She saw a wire fence with wooden posts, a nice, but kind of small, house up the driveway, a shed, some tools like sledge hammers next to some posts to be hammered into the ground, and the many animals Alice's family owned. Alice and Elly watches the animals walk around, fed the horses and the chickens, poked the sheep, and ran from goats. Elly was having an incredible time, she didn't want it to end.
As the time went by, Elly decided to try and help Alice's family with building their fence around the field. She learned how to use a hammer to nail in the posts and dig holes for posts with a hook like metal rod. The first few times Elly would try to hit a post with a hammer, she'd miss and hit her leg, making quite a bruise on it. Though, she began to enjoy doing this work at the farm, out of the city where people would judge her for how she behaved.
This was when she was twelve. She continued to go to Alice's farm with Alice and her family for three more years. She helped Alice's family with alot of the work on the farm. Alice's family was almost her family. Elly's strength grew as she worked on the farm, slamming the posts into the ground with only three or less hits, learned how to avoid the ramming goats by jumping, rolling and running faster than it, and has been able to jump over hay bails much easier.
One night, when Elly was beginning to fall asleep, she heard bleating from the field. Was someone trying to take Alice's sheep? Elly groaned and got out of bed, tying her hair quickly as she went out the door. She could hear the bleating grow frantic, and she could hear slashing from where she was. She saw that the sledge hammer was still out, so she grabbed it and moved forward. Once she was able to see the field, she saw what was attacking the sheep. A monster with large, claw like hands was tearing the sheep apart. Elly was about to run, her fear getting the better of her, but she couldn't just let this creature kill her friend's sheep. She gripped the hammer tightly and ran forward and just as the monster was reaching for another sheep. She jumped up and with a burst of sudden strength slammed the hammer into the side of the monster's head. The monster flew to the left and landed in a heap, dead from the blow it had taken. Before Elly knew what was going on or what that thing was, it turned into a strange, red fire like object that hung in the air. Alice and her family had come out to see what was going on, and saw what had happened (Alice's father had seen Elly running up to the monster and ran back to the house to grab his gun). They called Elly's parents and told them what she had done, and her parents were shocked, but they knew that she had the ability to do so already. Elly later found out what she had killed was a kishin egg, a creature that was once human but began to eat the souls of animals and people and became foul, and what it left behind was its soul.
It turned out, Elly's father was once a meister, but he married Elly's mother and left that life behind him. But, Elly was still young and had potential, so they knew where they had to send her. The DWMA. She could train to fight those monsters there. Elly was reluctant to go, of course, and she was against it the whole time, but when Alice told her that she had to, and that they'd keep in touch, Elly went.
A year later, when Elly was in Death City, she received a gift from her parents. It was an odd looking hammer that was actually a wedding gift that her father had received from his old weapon partner. It was durable and was easy for Elly to lift and swing (which, when she did, made her break a pillar on the counter in the kitchen of her apartment). She smiled and vowed in her head to never let her parents down, and to never let Alice down too.
Appearance She is almost always seen in her usual outfit. She wears her hair the same way all the time in public, but lets i down when she's going to sleep.
Her hair, when let down, falls to her knees, the two pony tails on the top actually come close to blinding her when they are let down. She ties them firmly with ribbons.
