The training fields.

More battles, never not.

The teenager seemed bent on practicing with Tenya, tossing the oversized toy in the air and catching it. The weight of it often pushed him back a few inches every time he caught the flying weapon.

It'd be way more fun if he could throw it at people, but whatevs.

Whaaatevs.

Winning was addictive. When you were on a win streak it was impossible not to want to ride it out. Rep felt like a predator, like his fortunes were finally on the mend. He made sure the training fields were clear of people he wanted to avoid for the time being before heading back onto them.

He almost expected someone to have drawn a chalk outline where Ro had been, but no, just blood splatter that would wash away given a little bit of time in the humid fog.

Someone was playing with a frisbee or something at the far end of the fields, a really ******** huge one he noticed as he got nearer.

Oh. Maybe it was just the person throwing it was a <******** midget.

When he got within hearing range he smirked toothily and purred. "Isn't that for ages like, ten and up? Where's your mum?"

Otto caught Tenya again, his grip tightening in reaction to Rep's words. His icy blue eyes flicked over to the taller man, narrowing at him; his lip curled up.

Oh great, it was Rep. Otto had an easier time dealing with him on Twitter, where he had time to think of something witty. Face to face made it a lot harder to be thoughtful.

"That's real cute, asshat." The southern boy growled.

The visible tension in the other hunter was exactly the kind of reaction he wanted, it spoke to him of defensiveness, of fight or flight. It meant he was doing the right thing. He didn't mind Otto, there was no real malice there - he just so happened to be the most wonderful insult fodder.

He threw up his hands in derisive mockery. "Oh no man, you cut me to deep. Here's a tip, calling other dudes cute?" he lowered his voice in exaggeratedly conspirational tones. "Kind of ******** gay."

Everything on the training field was fair game. Everything.

training. There are rules.>

<done playing fair.>>

Overruling the fallen angel's complaints, he shot out his hand, summoning the axe. It felt as good as it always did to have the massive thing in his hands.

"You were a smartarse on twitter. Lets see how much of a smartarse you are now."

And without even a warning of what he was about to do, he dived forward and swung hard in Otto's direction. He was curious how he fought with something like that frisbee thing, provocation seemed the easiest way to find out.

Otto eyes practically rolled into the back of his head at Rep's "advice". "Point taken." Otto grumbled.

After some more sassing Otto found himself on the other end of an axe. The southerner jumped back, knocking Tracey back with Tenya. The force of the impact did a number on his Fear shield but it was only the beginning.

The teenager spun twice to build up momentum before letting go, hurling the giant boomerang at Rep's body.

Rep would never have guessed that a boomerang (or frisbee as he'd taken to erroneously calling it) could hurt so ******** much. As the throw took him off guard it hit him full on, sending him staggering backwards with such force it took an odd sort of last moment skipping to catch his balance. His teasing, almost jovial edge dropped immediately, it was no longer a game.

"What the <********> kind of weapon is that?" he snarled.

Once again, balance regained, he spun up some momentum and clashed against shield again, the charge tantalisingly close to done.

"Its' a ********' Boomerang, genius." Otto replied with a snort.

Oh s**t!

Otto gripped Tenya tightly and tried to dodge the oncoming attack, his shield taking a hit as Tracey took a chunk of it.

Otto didn't care to stay close seeing as that weapon of Rep's was rather intimidating. The short boy kept his distance and favoured using Tenya as a projectile weapon, hurling it toward Rep once again.

boomerang whacked him. It hurt like a b***h and he could feel every single hit taking swathes of energy out of his shield, it was getting rather dangerous.

And the worst thing, the absolute worst thing - was that he couldn't do s**t about it. It was frustrating fighting projectile users, like trying to grab air. Every time he was lined up for a good sweeping slash, the slippery little blonde b*****d had backed away again out of reach.

It took a frustratingly long time to get a hit of his own in, when he finally did, laughing with an edge of manic giddiness. It never got old, never ever. There was a low crackle as the runes all along Tracey seemed to glow with additional intensity and without a word of warning this time, he got ready to place his faith in luck and let the charge fall where it would.

As much as Otto tried to dodge and avoid maximum damage, the small amount he did get hurt like a b***h. The teen winced, and weaseled away again as fast as he could. The range of that damn axe was terrifying.

Otto spun and once again hurled the weapon toward Rep.

He was finally starting to get the hang of this charge thing it seemed. At least for the time being. Once again as he gathered up his focus he experienced that bizarre sensation of losing track of Tracey, able to feel the power from him but for those few moments almost shadow boxing, in perfect synch.

It was time to ride the lightning.

The swing felt unnaturally fast as it came, too fast as always for his body to handle, throwing strain into his shield, making his bones ache and his muscles burn. But the force felt too ******** good not to do it. A normal human being would be nothing in the face of a swing like this he knew, so much red smear, a painting of what was once human. The satisfying shatter of shield and runic energy reminded him of breaking glass windows in old houses, of childhood, the satisfying crunch when you broke up an old table, of destruction and mayhem - everything fun.

And then all too soon the feeling was over as Tracey sounded horrified, pulling away from him mentally. do anything to you.> The fallen angel sounded winded and startled, not sure why he'd been so easily swept along with the raw desire for fear, caught in the whirlwind of adrenaline.

Rep came to a halt and turned to raise a brow at Otto. Surely he hadn't hit him that hard?

Maybe choosing Rep as a spar partner had been risky. But there were always worser things to go up against on the field, and here there was at least a higher rate of survival. Still, when Rep came at him like lightening, a tinge of regret stung at Otto. It was quick, if nothing else. He barely knew what hit him at all. One minute he'd been fighting all out. The next? Everything went black.

Otto's body was flung backward, skidding and skipping across the ground; Tenya flying from his hands and cascading across the field before sliding to a stop. A second passed before the weapon dissolved into it's un-summoned form; a golden bracelet that wrapped around Otto's wrist.

The blonde was down for the count; out cold and covered in a fresh coating of red.

Rep stared, turning just in time to see Otto skid to a halt, not moving.

"Oh my... ********> god." he said, a manic laugh bubbling up completely unbidden, hands shaking slightly as Tracey was duly desummoned. "Ha ha..haha. Out for the ******** count" It was a power trip.

do anything>

It was the best sort of strength, he was being a Sun, a proper Sun.

He was more than human.

<Are you even listening?>

As the almost terrified shocked laughter faded away, he wandered over to look down at Otto. Just a young dude. Not a bad guy. Picked an unlucky spar.

Not his problem.

"No hard ******** feelings mate."

Pulling out his phone, he wrote something to twitter and once again strutted the ******** off the training fields, feeling like a god.

Sasha was working in the labs when her phone chirped.

Should she be surprised? She wasn't.

Should she be shocked? Nope.

Should she be filled with a seething anger that threatened to implode should she happen to see Rep as she rushed to help Otto out on the training fields?

Mm. Yes. Familar, comfortable.

She held that crimson-hot emotion close to her as she jogged to the fields, her eyes immediately landing on the blonde that was prone on the ground. Hold it close, keep it for later.

"Otto?" She wouldn't be able to take him in herself. She debated calling for help until she saw a flash of orange-red. Clerise.

"Thank God. I'm going to kill him."

Twitter chirped again. She briefly tapped out a response before turning her attention back to the redhead and the blonde.

"I'm going to kill him."

Clerise hadn't cared much about Ro. She didn't know the guy, found him to be annoying on twitter, and honestly, there were plenty of people wandering around that could help.

Funny how her perspective sat on its side when it involved someone she did give a ******** about. She did not just go drag him out of the depths of hell to let him perish on the island like some wounded animal.

Fist clenching around her phone, Clerise rushed out of the minipet labs-- a nice, easy, if insane, sort of day had been in the cards: no longer-- and down to the training field. Her pace was a hurried walk that, as soon as she saw Otto's body on the field, swiftly transformed into a jog, and then into a run.

"Kill later," was all she said, dropping to her knees with a grunt. Red eyes hawkishly looking for wounds-- to find out where all that red was coming from.

"Heal now."

She pressed her palm to Otto's face. "You with us, prodigy?"
