That morning, Kadryn had decided to paint a picture of her baby brother. But as she was going through her paints, she noticed many of her paint bags were empty and others dried up. "Hmm, guess I need to go make some more," she muttered. So she set off with many small bags and a mortar and pedestal to grind some more colors for the paint. A little after noon saw Kadryn on the edge of a small stream in the forest. After spending all morning wandering through the undergrowth looking for specific plants, climbing trees to get others, and trying to catch the many bugs she needed to make her paints, Kadryn was tired. To cool off and get some work done at the same time, she had sat on the rocky bank of the stream. Now she was almost done, and was grinding away at some slugs and leaves to make her last color, purple. Next to her sat many small plump bags, already filled with the newly made wet paint. There were as many colors as Kadryn could find the ingredients to. Wiping her brow, Kadryn set aside her mortar and pulled out her lunch. "Nothing like hunting and grinding stuff to make me hungry!"

The Oblivionite's second visit to Seren was going infinitely better than her first so far. Rather than running around getting scraped up, she was simply exploring as she did on Soudul. Quietly exploring. In a confusing forest where every direction she turned looked the same. No, really, she wasn't lost at all.
Still, while Eanah wouldn't have admitted she was enjoying herself, this continent did have its charms, she supposed, especially when there were no Orderites around. The sheer brightness of this place wasn't as bothersome as it had been, and as long as she kept her head down and cloaked near the docks, she didn't get too many stares.
At the moment, her hood was pulled back, but the deep green of her borrowed cloak served to camouflage her slightly whenever she bent over to examine a rock or leaf. She looked, for all intents and purposes, like a clumsy, stumbling animal thing. A clumsy, stumbling animal thing that did not belong. At least she'd found a stream. Surely if she followed it, the water would lead her out of here. Eanah bent to remove her shoes and stepped into its shallows.

As Kadryn munched on her lunch, she decided to fish some for more food. This small sandwich just wasn't filling her up. Pulling out twine and a hook from her bag, she looked around for a nice long stick to fasten it to. "Hmm, nothing flexible enough around here..." she muttered to herself. So, after stashing her paint bags and tools in her bag, she stood up and began to walk down the streams edge, keeping an eye out for a long thin stick. Since Kadryn was actually paying attention to her surroundings for once, she noticed a tall thin figure in the stream before she was seen. Kadryn quickly ducked into the brush underneath the trees. Then, quietly but skillfully climbing a tree, she peeked out from behind the leaves at the person. Noticing no real weapon beyond a walking stick, Kadryn decided to practice her stalking skills. Might as well right? She thought to herself. She began to creep towards the dark figure... Dark? Why would anyone want to wear such a long dark green cloak? It made a person stick out like a sore thumb against the bright foliage... Hmm, I wonder who it is. As silently as she could, Kadryn slipped from tree to tree, slowly approaching the ... black skin?! And no eyes! Its.. is that an Oblivionite?!?!? Kadryn's breath caught, an Oblivionite! It really was her lucky week! Those black pits for eyes look odd... but she's rather pretty. Not at all like what Miz Krel keeps telling us they look and act like. Kadryn smiled happily, maybe a new friend? She put one hand forward and leaned onto it to get a better look at this Oblivionite girl. Unfortunately for her, the branch she put her hand on broke, sending her tumbling down to the ground.

Eanah might not have possessed a soul but she certainly had a heart, and at the sharp sound of a crack coming from somewhere behind her it quickened, pounding in her chest as she spun to face the noise. She knew the Ysali frequented forests, but that crack and the subsequent splash hadn't sounded loud enough to have been produced by a dragon.
It sounded like...
A girl. Eanah's empty sockets narrowed, and she seemed to be glaring daggers at what looked like another apprentice, one who had fallen into the stream. Normally, she would have found the scene amusing, maybe she might have even smirked faintly, but she was too preoccupied with slowing her racing heart to get a decent grip on her spite. She did have plenty of time to look over this... Orderite, and that's what she did.
Eanah could perceive the differences between light and darkness just fine, but colors were another matter entirely. There was a great deal of variation between certain hues, but the disparity between purple and blue was more difficult to quantify in certain lights. She couldn't be sure what colors the girl's hair and eyes were, and eventually she gave up trying to figure out. Eanah wanted to ask what the Orderite was doing here, but it was Eanah herself who didn't belong. She settled for a different introduction, but sadly it was no less combative.
"That's what you get." She hooked her shoes over the first two fingers on her left hand and lifted her staff, taking a hesitant step toward the girl. "For sneaking up on people."

Kadryn hadn't meant to reveal herself in such a ... clumsy fashion... Oh well, at least I don't have to figure out how to approach her now, she thought. Standing up, she shook the water from her hair and attempted to brush it froom her clothes. The Oblivionite's words were so soft Kadryn almost missed them. " Hmm? Ah, yeah, I guess you're right!" She laughed at herself. "I wanted to improve my skills, but it appears that I've failed in that... I'm Kadryn, what's your name?" She held her wet hand out and smiled at the taller girl. "I've never seen an Oblivionite before. Are you all so dark?" Kadryn could barely restrain herself from asking more questions. She didn't want to scare the girl away after all... but still, a new person! She could hardly wait to ask what her people and continent were like! Kadryn was proud of herself, she was no longer too shy to talk to strangers, fighting dragons was a sure fire way to gain confidence! Now that she was facing the girl, Kadryn took a good look at her. Long black hair, dark skin, black pits for eyes... more girly than me and tall, but thin. In fact, she looked kinda fragile... Was this really what Miz Krel had said was a heartless killer? Really? She looked like a dark eye-less version of some of the girly girls Kadryn had seen in the markets shopping for clothes.... Couldn't be. But then Kadryn wasn't really similar to the other crafty, studious, social, and more obedient Orderites...

She hadn't expected laughter, especially not the sort that seemed directed back at the one doing the laughing. Eanah hesitated, her brows dipping in confusion for a moment as she tried to formulate a response. It was difficult not to keep pushing, to throw stinging, hurtful words at her natural opponent, but this girl didn't seem to mean her any harm. And... was that a scar? Maybe she could learn a thing or two from this friendly Orderite.
Eanah passed her staff to the hand already holding her shoes and returned Kadryn's greeting gingerly but not with any particular distaste. The Oblivionite was more used to curtsies, but this girl was wearing pants, so a handshake would do.
"I'm Eanah," she replied. "Some of my people are paler than I am, I guess, but I've never met one as light as the people of Seren." If she was truly the first of her kind this scarred, pants-wearing forest walker had ever seen, she should probably make a decent first impression.
"What sorts of skills are you looking to improve out here?" Eanah asked, folding her hands in front of her as best as she could. The only skills Eanah was getting a lesson in were Sweating and Wet Feet.

Kadryn watched the quiet Oblivionite as she cautiously shook hands and primly folded them afterwards. Hmmm.. for a supposedly bloodthirsty monster, this.. Eanah was quite the lady. "Are they now? Us Oderites come in many colors, though we're always pale. And I was thinking of stal..er tailing you. I've noticed that dragons are easier to defeat if you surprise them.. so I thought that I'd practice my stalking skills....I mean tailing..... Er, yeah. Um, though that wasn't what I was doing here in the first place...." Looking down, Kadryn saw that her bag was wet.. which meant her paints would be ruined.... drat, all that mornings work wasted. Looking up, Kadryn got an idea. Her brother loved playing this game... but would this lady be willing to play a game? Well, nothing ventured, nothing gained. "Hey Eanah, I was making paints, but since I fell into the river, they're ruined." She pulled out a small bag that was dripping a light green liquid. She sighed "It's a good thing I already ate lunch and that there's nothing important in here... The water's diluted them too much.. so .. You want to play a game?" She grinned. "I usually play this game with my baby brother. I call it paint tag. We split the paint bags, and after say, an hour, we end it and whoever is the least colored in paint wins. I promise to not use my wings since that'd be unfair and the only rules are no hurting and no washing off in the stream until after the games over. Do you want to?" She smiled winningly up at Eanah. I hope she says yes. Fallon isn't that much of a challenge.. and since we're in the woods there'll be more hiding spots and chances to practice a ranged battle! That and I can improve my hiding and dodging!

At least this girl didn't go on about protecting dragons. That might have negated all of this slightly itchy-feeling tolerance Eanah was displaying. Plus, the Oblivionite hadn't known all that about sneaking and dragons. She had made a habit of barging into Ysali territory when perhaps she should have been more stealthy. Even Leyn had employed stealth for a while during their hunt, at least until he had gotten it into his head to show off his magic.
Eanah nodded once, ignoring the part about Kadryn's baby brother in favor of the idea of practicing stealth. "Yes, I could do that," she said. Part of her didn't relish the idea of returning home covered in paint, but another part dared anyone to make fun of her. She slid her shoes back on, pushed her satchel under her cloak so it wouldn't get as messy as the rest of her was bound to, and held out her hands. "I am ready for my paint."

Kadryn smiled happily, game time! Handing half of the dripping bags to Eanah, Kadryn waited until she had turned to leave before bolting into the bushes. She grinned. It may be a fake fight, but this is still going to be a blast! Kadryn began slinking through the undergrowth towards where she thought Eanah was. As she saw some of the shrubbery shift like someone was moving near it, she quickly launched a bag of red paint towards the shrubbery.

Back home, she blended in quite nicely with the grasses and trees, but she was well aware that wasn't the case here. She was feeling pretty sneaky, ducking from bush to bush with a bag at the ready, when she felt something slap against the back of her neck. Eanah couldn't see what it was, nor could she spare a hand to touch it and bring some of it around to where she could see, but she didn't have to. She was well aware it was paint.
With a faint shudder at the feel of it sliding into the high collar of her dress, Eanah stood up straight and looked behind her. She tossed her own paint bag back at a moving bush as hard as she could, but after that she remained standing, presenting a rather obvious target to her opponent.Attack and Defense Kind-of Armed Attack: Green Paint Cannon! :: 10 x 5 = 50 xxxxxDamage: 50 x 50% = 25 LP Basic Defense: Sticking Out Like a Sore Thumb :: 11 x 5 = 55 xxxxxWarded: 55 x 10% = 5.5 LP Damage dealt to Kadryn: 11.5 (i hope i did the math right O.O)

As she tried to duck, Kadryn was clipped on her shoulder, leaving it coved in a green splotch. However, Kadryn was impressed; she could see the red paint rolling down Eanah's back, yet the girl hadn't made a sound... too bad she was still standing! If Eanah had thrown then run, Kadryn might have missed which direction she'd gone. So Kadryn threw a bag at Eanah and scurried off behind and up a tree... Eanah hurried behind the wide trunk of a tree. It wasn't the one now smeared in blue paint. At least she wasn't that horrible at defense.
