Dromio wasn’t normally away from his beloved pride, but even he had to get some different views every once in a while. It made things more interesting. Well, if nothing else it gave him some new perspectives. Seeing the rogue lands often served as a good reminder why he needed to maintain order in his pride. Things beyond the pride boarders were… difficult at best. It wasn’t what he wanted for his home. Still, it wasn’t all bad. He liked the way the place looked, all the varying environments, and a lot of the prideless beings weren’t horrible to be around. He wouldn’t hate them all because a few happened to be less than reputable. He was moving towards a watering hole right at that moment, just ready to get some water into his body and rehydrate after a long day of looking around. With the sun setting, he knew he would have to head home shortly, lest he run the risk of his father sending out half the pride’s guards to look for him.

On one of her occasional long-distance wandering trips, Tsukiko had been enjoying a nice lovely walk out in the sun. She hadn't eaten in a couple days, but as a lion, even a pridelander, this was a normal enough occurrence. It did make her rather thirsty, though!
She had learned of this watering hole on a previous voyage, and was currently making the rounds checking if it was safe to drink in. Crocodiles were only really a threat to lions if they caught one by surprise, and usually only the biggest ones even bothered trying their luck.
She had seen a few sunbathing when she arrived, but all were rather small, and didn't appear interested in her. So, once content wih the security of the watering hole, she crouched down by the water, as of yet unaware of the other lion coming this way.

Dromio noticed a lady not too far from him, taking a drink from the same watering hole he had been heading to. He smiled, always happy to see subjects. But, no, he wasn’t in the pride lands right at that moment, and she wasn’t a subject. So he hadn’t treat her like one. There was a chance she could be dangerous, right? Still… he didn’t think it would hurt to be at least a little friendly. So he moved over to her, offering a bright, friendly smile. “Hello, ma’am!” He said with a bow of his head, “I hope you don’t mind sharing the water her, I’m afraid I’m not used to walking so much.” This place was certainly a lot bigger than the home he had been born into, and he wasn’t so sure that made it better. A nice place to visit, but he wouldn’t want to live there.

She was usually a very calm sort, but her head did snap up rather quickly at the sound of someone approaching. The reason was, exclusively, that you were supposed to be edgy around water sources. As tranquil as Tsukiko was, she still had a sense of self-preservation!
But the matter was quickly resolved once she saw it was a lion ho didn't look angry or upset, and she had no reason to stress. so she didn't. "Hello! How are you?" She responded to the friendly greeting with one of her own, and sat up.
"I don't mind at all! The water isn't mine, of course." Besides, Tsukiko could fancy a friendly chat.

Dromio laughed, nodding somewhat dumbly. “A fair enough point,” he remarked lightly, “but I guess you can never know for sure- some lions like to think they own everything around them.” But if they didn’t have a pride, did they really own anything? He was going to be kind of his home, and he didn’t think he ‘owned’ it. It was just a strange, rogue concept, he imagined. He gave her another box, this one much more respectful than his little greeting. He smiled warmly, looking up at her. “My name is Dromio,” he offered lightly, “and you are?” As he asked, he moved towards the water, dipping his head a third time, to get himself a nice drink.

She smiled. "Regrettably." Tsukiko agreed, some lions were ridiculously territorial and unwilling to share. She could understand why some could be rather vicious and defensive over such things, but she didn't really agree with such a mentality.
"I am Tsukiko." She nodded, and having drank her fill, took a couple steps away from the edge of the water and sat. "It is a pleasure to meet you, Dromio!" Usually, by her philosophy, as long as an encounter wasn't negative it was good. She really was quite friendly a curious, so often simply meeting someone new was great. Besides, Tsukiko had yet to have a truly undesirable encounter.

“Pleasure is all mine!” Dromio laughed. It really was a nice thing, seeing someone who didn’t seem really bitter. Maybe it was just him listening too much to what the others in his pride had to say about things. It felt like he was being too silly about the rogue lands. Funny that someone who was supposed to be making his pride more open was having closed-minded views about the outside world. Shrugging it off, he smiled. “I admit, I’m a little uneasy… this is one of the few times I’ve been outside of my pride. So if I do something weird or annoying… let me know,” he laughed lightly.

Perhaps unlike Dromio, Tsukiko ran into non-bitter lions routinely. It was most unusual to find someone too upset over life in the Pridelands, though there were certainly odd characters out.
She chortled. "You'll find me hard to annoy." Tsukiko said. She really was a very patient lioness, and she liked company besides. "One of the few times?" She repeated. "So are you on a mission, or just decided on a vacation?"

Dromio looked a little thoughtful. "Hmm." Mission? Vacation? He supposed he wasn't really on either. "A mix of the two, perhaps. I don't need to be out here, but I like coming out of the pride every now and again to check out what's going on. I guess I feel like it helps make the pride safer, knowing what's going on around me... though I also like to get out just for my own sake," he chuckled lightly, shaking his head.
"I don't know. It's nice to see what's different every now and again, right?"
