It had been time to leave the festival for that night and so Shun was guiding Mitsu back to her room. Such social and crowded things were tiring for himself so he was glad to be somewhere quiet and secluded as well. Upon returning to her place, he removed his jacket and shoes, then wrapped his arms around his lycan, planting a kiss to her lips.
"You did good today. I'm proud of you," he whispered. There were hiccups, but she hadn't done too badly from what he saw, "Did you have fun at all?"
He knew she was nervous for some time. He wasn't sure if it was the entire time they were there but he was hoping she managed to enjoy some of it in the very least. That asked, he pulled back briefly to start making them both some nice and hot tea.

The event was over and they were finally heading back to her room. Parts of her would miss the festival but over all it was a relief to be somewhere quiet again. She didn't know just how much the noise and constant threat of people had worn on her until she was back in her room. She felt utterly exhausted.
It was Shun's hold that kept her upright, the lycan leaning into his embrace and wrapping her arms around him. Instantly she buried her face in his chest and finally made herself relax. There was no one here that would hurt her. She was safe in her room with her reaper.
Nodding slightly Mitsu finally peered up toward Shun as he pulled back and headed over to the hot plate he brought over. Maybe he was going to make the tea he had talked about making earlier.
For now Mitsu moved toward her bed and climb up on it to have a seat. The blankets were still a mess since she had fallen out of habit of making her bed but they made a rather nice little nest which she huddled in for the time being.

Shun waited by the tea until it was done. He then went on and brought a cup over towards Mitsu before fetching her laptop. He didn't open it, but just set it aside on the bed as he seated himself. There, he let out a heavy breath, then went to drink some tea.
"I'm glad you managed to enjoy some of it..." he said quietly. He wanted to rest up and relax a little before going into some of the more serious things that he wanted to talk about since before.
"Though, I'll be fine if you want to stay in tomorrow instead of going back out to the festival. It's tiring even for me. There's a lot of energy in that place," he said before looking over towards her, "The next time we go out, it can be for a much quieter occasion."
Of course, if she did want to go back for the subsequent festival days, he was fine with that too. He wasn't going to drag her out to them though.

Holding out her hands for the tea Mitsu took it with a small nod of thanks and brought it close so that she could blow on the hot liquid. After letting it cool a little she took a small sip noting how this tea tasted much better.
Her gaze shifted to the laptop Shun had set on the bed and casually she flipped it open and let it start up and load. While it was doing that she turned back to her reaper, nodding again since it was about all she could do at the moment. The thought of going out again wasn't as frightening as it had been before but that didn't mean she didn't still dread the experience. It would be another trip out with the threat of attack.

Carefully sipping his tea, Shun was quiet for some time as he let them both enjoy their drink in the meantime. After a little bit, he set his cup aside, then turned towards his lycan. He waited a little longer still, then went on to start talking.
"I still need to reward you too, for putting up with it... but first," he started before taking in a deep breath, "Could.. you tell me what's going on when you zone out? It's... happened a lot of times since you've gotten back. And it's worrying me really."
His gaze shifted downwards for a moment.
"I want to help you.. but it's hard when I don't know what's going on."

She had continued to sip her tea in silence enjoying the peace and quiet. It helped to ease the tension she still felt that she had kept bottled up all this time. When Shun spoke again Mitsu's eyes crinkled slightly with a hint of amusement but it quickly faded with he hesitated to continue. 'But first' was a terrible lead in and Mitsu could feel the prickling sensation of discomfort around her brain.
Setting her tea aside on the night stand Mitsu focused on it as Shun dove into the conversation and what he wanted from her. She was suddenly uneasy all over again, her knees drawing up to her chest as she tried to find a way to feel safe where she currently was.
Tilting her head she looked toward her laptop, the screen up and ready just waiting for her to input a command. She was hesitant to move toward it but reached out to pull it closer and began to type. Her key strokes were slow like she was trying to think through her words carefully.
'I remember what happened and I kind of get sucked into the memories. Despite how I try I get trapped in thought. I don't know that its something that can be fixed.'

Shun listened, quietly and patiently as he heard the computer speak Mitsu's words. Reliving memories... was that what was going on every time? That sounded... horrible really. The Reaper looked at her with great concern as he took this in.
"It can be... I'm sure. But... could you please tell me.. what it is that happened? Maybe.. Maybe I can help somehow. Again.. I can't help with what I don't know. I want to be here for you.." he said quietly, moving closer to his lycan to set a hand over hers. His left hand was now kind of bruised thanks to earlier on, but he didn't seem to notice this. His focus was on her and her issues.
"Maybe.. having someone else know might help ease the burden. You don't have to tell anyone else. But it's probably best if we have no secrets between the two of us.."

Again Mitsu hesitated, her fingers moving toward the keys before she drew them back. It was a struggle. She wanted to tell him but she felt so uneasy, like she should be ashamed. If she'd done better, thought things through a little more none of it would have ever happened. Where did she even begin in telling him? From the beginning? Just the end? All of it in one way or another had made an impact but not all of it had been as traumatic.
Curling up a bit she rested her face in her hands as she continued to think, wondering if telling him would really ease her mind. Could it be so simple?
Finally she pulled out of the ball she had wrapped herself in and began to type, pecking away at keys. 'I know you want me to be better. I'm trying. I want to be better but.' She hesitated before she continued. 'I don't feel the same as I did before. Something is off and I don't know what.'
Placing a hand against her chest she had that odd sensation like before. Like something was there that shouldn't be. It was uncomfortable, almost painful but the feeling was only momentary before it faded away entirely. She frowned not sure what the feeling was and she had no idea if it had anything to do with what had been done to her.
There was one thing though, Shun was likely right. Keeping secrets between them likely wasn't for the best but how would he feel after she told him? Again she found herself at a dilemma. 'I don't really know where to start.' She finally typed. 'So much of what I remember at the end is glimpses of things and then pain.' On top of a mountain of feelings and emotions she had no idea what to do with. 'I feel so lost in it all.'

While he waited for a response, Shun didn't say anything else. However, he did move himself behind her so that he could wrap his arms around her, embracing her from behind. He was trying to comfort her without hindering her ability to type. When she described how she felt, he furrowed his brow. Something was off? He was going to ask if it was physical or emotional thing, but she soon brought a hand to her chest.
Perhaps... it was physical?
"Maybe you should see Cricket.. if it's a physical ailment, she might be able to figure out what's wrong.." he suggested. She had no injuries on the outside, but that didn't mean that everything was completely sound. Something else could be wrong inside. And Cricket was the most capable fear healer that he was aware of that was also nearby. There wasn't much else he could think of for that particular issue.
"Start at the beginning.. Guide me through it. Tell me what you know. Then... maybe I can start trying to guide you through this.." he whispered, holding her close to him. Pain, he knew was a given. The scars were proof of that. But it didn't say much for what occurred exactly.
"I'm here for you... and I will always be here for you.. remember this, Mitsu," he added, trying to encourage her.

As his arms came around her Mitsu leaned into his embrace again, pulling away from the laptop for the moment. Seeing Nurse Cricket was an option she supposed but something told her it wouldn't help. She had been treated by Nurse Cricket when she had arrived back on campus, what more could the nurse do that she hadn't already done?
Not wanting to be completely discouraging about it Mitsu kept her thoughts on the matter to herself. Instead she focused on what she was going to say. Start from the beginning? It was somewhere she supposed but there was worry gathering in the pit of her stomach.
'I worry about what you will think of me.' Mitsu finally typed, regret about her admission washing over her as soon as she hit enter. Panic was starting to well up, tension overtaking her muscles as she shakily continued. Apparently it effected her typing because every few words the program didn't know what to do and would either submit a word it thought she had typed or skipped over it entirely. She did her best to describe the beginning and what had happened after Candace had brought her to the Isle. The room deep under ground, her injuries that didn't want to heal, the collar, and Candace's persistence in trying to make friends. The general idea of the conversation came across it was just hard to listen at times with the words being off.
It was when she got closer to more recent events that she slow down. The fact that Candace hadn't shown up, the worry about being alone, that empty feeling of hopelessness. She stopped right after mentioning the techs that had randomly showed up and trailed off when it came time to tell him about what happened in the lab. It was like a flash of a memory, fresh and raw like the knife across her flesh. She cringed back from the laptop like it had attacked her uncertain if she could continue.

"Don't worry about these things... I will always love you," he said with conviction. That said, he fell silent, listening to the tale of her times on the island. She was shaking as she wrote it, making the words a little choppy. Shun still listened as carefully as he could though, holding her close to try and comfort her as she told him what had happened.
At first, he was a little confused. The way Candace was treating her. She really did try and 'tame' Mitsu then, to be some little pet. It pissed him off. But that didn't explain the damage she had undergone. The fact that she was also apparently speaking to others when she couldn't hear was concerning. Deception. He sensed it. Or so he felt.
But then it reached the part where she was taken into the labs. His eye narrowed as he listened. She slowed down, but he was still listening very intently. But then she stopped. He could feel her recoil, and he rested his chin onto her shoulder, pulling her close to him, trying to let her know that he was here. He had suspicions on what occurred but...
"What did they do to you...? And do you know why?"

Her heart was pounding in her chest and all she wanted to do was turn around and hide in Shun's arms until the images passed. As it stood she was shaking so bad that when she went to type again only one word got through.
'Scraps'
It was the only thing she could offer as her eyes began to well with tears, now unable to see what she was doing. Why was this so hard? Why were the things that had already happen so fresh and new and painful? Mitsu didn't understand, her mind just couldn't escape and that's all she wanted to do.

Scraps? Were they trying to turn her into scraps? Was that why she had so many scars? To slowly shred her apart into nothing? Why the hell would they do something like that? Shun's interpretation of the term wasn't entirely on the mark, but it was close enough, and it pissed him off. Feeling the rage well up in him against the hunters, he soon shook it off as he looked down at the trembling girl in his arms.
"Those ******** bastards..." he hissed lowly, "Why the hell would they try to shred a beautiful and amazing girl like you? Why would they do this... they don't know anything about you. Trying to turn you into trash... You are the most important person to me. Do you hear me? You mean everything... you did not deserve to be treated like... like... that."
He was a little loss for words. The Reaper was angry and his lycan had been hurt badly. Holding her close, he shut his good eye, trying to think of some way to calm her down.
"Now listen to me Mitsu... you're with me now. I won't let them do that to you again... I don't want you to be reliving that hell if possible... that's not what you deserve. Those bastards can all die slowly for all I care."
Shun paused, trying to think. She was reliving this each time she zoned out. The memories had to be overpowering... He was going to need to try and find some way to overtake those thoughts. Put positive things into her memories to grasp onto instead. Try to find some way to shield her from these nightmares... How would he do that though?
"You need... to try and hang onto something good. Have.. you tried to think of me.. or your other friends whenever these thoughts come back to you?"

Turning in his arms Mitsu hid her face in his shoulder as Shun held her close. Her focus was gone and she couldn't keep back the emotional tidal wave as it crashed over the very slight wall of restraint she had. She could hear his words and knew she should be able to get comfort from them but at the moment all she could do was cry.
The anger Shun now had came off him in waves and it hit Mitsu hard, making her shrink further into his embrace to hide. His suggestion wasn't terrible, but she had tried to think of others and the only problem was...they only replaced her in her nightmare. Instead of her going through the torture she was locked behind that glass wall in her room watching it being done to Shun or her friends and being unable to help or stop it. It was somehow all the more painful to endure because she knew it was her fault. The mental pain was far beyond the physical.
Unable to explain that to him at the moment Mitsu tried to nod but only managed to get upset all over again.

She wasn't getting any better. As she buried her face into his shoulder, Shun was getting a little frantic on trying to find some way to bring her some serenity. Bringing her friends and loved ones into the picture hadn't helped her, judging the nod. So he was going to try and come up with something else. That would come later...
Right now... he needed to calm her down.
Words weren't helping her right now, and so the Reaper gently lifted her chin and kissed her upon the lips. Maybe this could work.
