 Coeus sat a little away from the family and the new cubs wandering around exploring their world, seeking a little time to herself, which was getting to be a rare thing with Aphrodite becoming a mini Papa and using his full cuteness to blackmail snuggles out of his siblings, the adults that were attached to their group, and probably their prey animals as well. But he really was that cute.
Not that Aphrodite was the only cute cub to arrive. No they were all cute, and adorable and they made Coeus wonder if all cubs were really that cute or was it just this litter? Had Papa felt this way when her litter was born? Or Ares litter? Coeus was of the mind that Pallas and Aphrodite's litter was cuter, and how could they not be?
No Aphrodite just seemed to like to pounce and follow Coeus more than the other cubs did. He would start random games of Hide and Seek, but it would really be Hide and Pounce Coeus as she walked by or when she least expected it. Pounce and then demand a snuggle. He was definitely Papa's cub.
And while she loved Aphrodite and his games, she felt guilty that she didn't know the other cubs half as well as she knew him. But at the same time, Coeus feared that they wouldn't like her and that's why they were staying away. After all, out of all the siblings Coeus felt she was the most plain and with black and white fur dominating her coloring. The only hint of color was her dull green nose. So maybe they thought of her as a walking shadow, like a bogie or something.
Well, Coeus only knew of one way to possibly solve that. She'd try and make them something as gifts. Everyone liked gifts. She just was going to have to find the right material for each cub. Which kind of meant that she was either going to have to approach each cub herself as gently as possible. Or ask Aphrodite ...

 Pallas wobbled out of the den her mommy had claimed for the small family. Was it the second or third time she'd been out? The young cub shook her head, unable to remember. Her purple eyes were immediantly attracted to some grass waving in the breeze. Curiously she stumbled over to it. Unstead on three paws she tentatively reached out to bat at it. Her back legs gave out and she sat suddenly.
Affronted, the young female looked at her back end. Quickly she figured out that she could still investigate the grass. Her paw came out and hooked a few strands in her claws then slowly drew them toward her. She sniffed at the heads. Curiosity won. She took a bit and quickly spat the nasty stuff out. Nope not good. Pallas noticed something dark and light moving nearby. She turned to focus on it; her brow wrinkled as she tried to identify the strange bigger creature. Was it safe?

Coeus hummed as she trolled and hunted in the tall grass, her tail lazily saying in her contentment. She hummed what she thought she had heard one of the adults humming while grooming her new siblings. She remembered that someone used to hum it when she was being groomed to. She just couldn't place the voice, or what the song actually was.
Coeus scavengered around in the tall grass looking for interesting pieces to make a necklace or something figuring she should start with the new sibling she knew the best, Aphrodite. Blue feathers wouldn't stand out on Aphrodite or really on any of her new siblings. Their colorings tended towards white like Zenobia and blues of Papa. So maybe greens or purples or blacks would be the best colors of things to use to make their gifts. Maybe Aphrodite would like an armband? With black bird feather and some pretty but dark smooth stones. It was a thought. Coeus just wondered what the other siblings were going to like - wondering what they were like in general.

Her ears twitched. Was that? Yes! It sounded like someone's humming. The sound she associated with being groomed and loved. Pallas immediately lost all fears of the unknown. She pulled herself back to her feet and bumbled forward. The young cub didn't bother look where she was going. All she wanted was to find the source of the sound. She found; by running head first into Coeus.
"Ooof!" She exclaimed in surprised after she'd bounded back onto her rump and sat looking stupidly at the female in front of her. This wasn't someone she knew! "Who are you? What did you do with my mommy and daddy?"

But looking at her little sister, Coeus understood the cubs panic. After all, Pallas didn't know her. As far as Coeus knew, Pallas had never even been out of the den Zeno had made for the cubs while they were still so young.
"I'm Coeus, one of you big sisters. Well, half sister. Zeno is not my mother, but Athena is my Papa. And you are my little sister, Pallas. Did you get lost? Did you wonder away from Zeno?"

The little cub eyed the larger female suspiciously for a moment. Big sister? This one didn't look anything like her sister. No wait she did. Pallas thought she saw something familiar in the dark coat. Oh half sister. That kinda made sense? Then Coeus named her parents and relaxed. Well obviously she if knew their names then she was part of the pride.
At the mention of getting lost, the young cub puffed her chest out indignantly. "Lost? I am not Lost. I am right here, and since I know I'm right here clearly I can't be lost." She huffed and stuck her nose in the air. "Perhaps it is you Coeus who is lost." Pallas leered mockingly at her older sibling.

Coeus tilted her head at her little sister and smiled, just keeping from letting a giggle bubble out of her. She had a feeling that Pallas wouldn't appreciate that.
"If only I was lost," Coeus lamented teasingly, "then i would find the things I am looking for along with some adventure." Coeus settled down in the high grass so that she was not looking down at her little sister. So that way it was harder to actually pounce snuggle her. Something else Coeus wasn't sure that Pallas would like. This younger sibling was so different from Aphrodite in general. By this time, Aphrodite would have been pouncing her for snuggles. But ther was a cuteness about Pallas that Coeus couldn't deny.

Pallas had to admit her curiosity was piquiced. She did wonder at having to be lost to find something and adventure. Her brow wrinkled as she pondered the problem.
"What are you looking for?" That was important question. If it was something interesting then she wanted in on it. "Do you have to be lost? We could say that I'm lost," not that she was admitting to really being lost mind you, "then I could help you look." Pallas scootched a bit closer to the older female when she got down on eye level.

Coeus smiled and took a sneaky look around, almost like she was making sure that no one else was around. Secrets could be fun, and it was kind of a secret that only Papa knew about. Coeus was going to include Aphrodite when she asked for his help, but maybe Pallas would like the secret more than snuggles? At least until she got to know Coeus better.
"Only Papa knows, Pallas, so you can't tell anyone else. I like to make things, like necklases, cuffs, hair accessories and other things like that. I was looking for things that our siblings would like, especially you, Crius, and Aphrodite since you are the youngest siblings. I thought you would like something, but I didn't know what you would like so I was looking for treasures that I thought were pretty."

The cub gave her own look around. They were lost if no one knew they were around. She leaned closer as Coeus told her she couldn't tell anyone. Solomnly she nodded. "No one will be told." Pallas thought hard about the secret. "You mean like mama wears? I think that'd be pretty cool."
She ducked her head a moment as Coeus said she was trying to make stuff for the newest litter. What did she want? "I-i don't know either, but I'll look with you and tell you if I see something I really like." The cub was determined not to say she liked everything she walked by. She didn't want her half-sister chasing after little things. It had to be unique and special.

Coeus beamed a smile at her little sister. "Good. Then we can look for your treasure and I'll make a pretty something for you. And hopefully, we'll see something for your littermates too."
Coeus stood, stretching out her muscles slowly. This was going to be fun. And good bonding. Maybe she'd show Pallas how to make the pretties, too, after they were done looking for the treasures. "We can start with something that's your favorite color, Pallas."

She had admired the simple jewlery her mother had. Pallas liked the sound of looking for her treasure. Coeus would make something special for her she was sure. While it would be nice to get her brother and sister something, she was here and they weren't, so she wanted hers first.
The cub looked up at her older sibling. "I don't know what my favorite color is." This could be a slight problem. "You'll have to show me lots of stuff." Pallas rose to her feet ready to follow. This was going to be a fun adventure.
