If he was nervous it didnt show. He walked with a calm and collection that was more common in a stallion walking the range of his home. This was not the case here. Meurra had come to train under Avalanche one who could well be considered a second in command to the Six. This was something that Meurra had bee n looking forward to for quite some time. When he was younger his mother had the good fortune to set this up for him and he was going to take advantage of it. The sky was overcast but the day itself was bright. So far he had walked into the Sixs land and not once been stopped. Perhaps it was because he had come from lands were the Kings Azrein wouldnt be foolish enough too treed. His long tail trailed behind him like a flowing train. The mark on his neck stood out like the marks on his front legs. Meurra could probably pass as an Azerin for the king if he wanted. He often wondered if his gentle appearance would be a detriment while training, but he couldnt simply change his looks based on his will so easily.

User Image Avalanche watched over the kicked ants nest that was the company of the six. So many azrien. All mobile and going about their tasks well the majority of them, he sent a few of those who watched with them to direct those who looked lost. His daughter climbed up the incline. "Father Me'urra has returned for his training." she informed him.

"Thank you Talutah, I will meet with him now." His daughter amused him. In front of those here she was prim, serious and graceful. A role model of the best kind. And yet he knew for a fact that she was meeting with a antlered azrein at night. An azrien who did not fly their colors. The only way he could keep her was to not let anyone know that he knew, including her.

Ah there was the busy mess he had expected. He saw Azrein now fleeing back and forth. His eyes scanned the flurry of activity soon enough he saw what he wanted. Avalanche was standing on a crest overseeing the activity. He moved forward around the other Azrein and kept his head down so he wouldnt be noticed. He stopped at the base of the incline and kept his head high as he looked at the ground. He assumed Avalanche would get to him when he had time. He also noticed a rather pleasant sight. His once dark angel seemed in good health. Of course he knew more about her then he would care to since her change. Still he would keep his silence on the matter until he found out more. The complication she mentioned before intrigued him.

Avalanche unhurriedly headed down the path from the ridge. To tell the truth he liked training, but seldom go the chance to. Since no one ever asked him. Course only his love and that blue stud had ever seen, or experienced (in Voltaire's case) him fight. He usually left that particular task to Jeppe. Who got a little twitchy if he hadn't been ripping hearts out in a while. Course it was hard to protect and raise foals...of their particular nature, around the six. Since it made both Avalanche and Jeppe somewhat of targets, but heaven forbid someone mess with he or his mate now. Since their children would retaliate as well. Avvy would hate to see Kirotun any kind of mad. Talu too for that matter, course she was much sweeter looking then her brother and others may not expect it from her. And all was fine....just don't mess with her fathers.

"Ah Me'urra," Avalanche inclined his head at the chunk of evil stallion in front of him. Young muscle in a dark blue and gold graffitied package. Oh the delights of training. He hoped that coat wouldn't get too scarred. They added character but Avalanche wasn't sure what the ladies would think. "I see you've grown into a fine young stallion. Presumably now you are ready for the training your mother bartered for you?"

The stallion stood proud but mostly relaxed. Thankfully he hadn't seen Me'urra's mother for a while. Talu said she was a bit of a bag...or had it been bat? No matter. She was scary they would leave it at that. If she wasn't on thier side Avalanche would have had her assasinated in her sleep. Perhaps the Raven and the Panther could have handled the task, he mused. Shaking his head to clear it, he looked up to see his daughter smirking at him.

Well it wasn't like she had secrets or anything he needed to keep for her own safety. ThatElkThing cough.

He knew that Avalache was coming toward him. A part of Me’urra was amazed how slow and purposeful each stride that the older stallion made seemed so unhurried and yet so powerful. It was almost terrifying. Me’urra knew this was what his mother could see when she had first signed her son’s freedom away to this stallion. Me’urra disliked his mother doing that to him, but he could see the benefits of being trained by this monster. A monster is what Avalanche was and yet Me’urra didn’t mind. He felt this was normal and in fact how a male should be. In a way he supposed that Avalache was his idol, of course that awe wasn’t going to stop him from learning as much as he could here. He nodded his head gracefully in Avalache’s direction as the stallion first spoke to him. “I thank you for the compliment Avalanche. I am indeed here to be molded as you deem fit.”

Me’urra followed Avalache’s gaze and again say Talu. He made no comment on her appearance and simply looked back to Avalanche. He remembered how he had confused Talu as a foal with his silver tongue but wanted no such misunderstanding with her father. He was fairly certain that the stallion would not deem him a proper partner for Talu and would end Me’urra if there were even a though of such a coupling. Thankfully Me’urra wasn’t even tempted. He had lost interest in Talu a long time ago.

He wondered what kind of training Avalanche would push him through first. Physically he was weak, average stamina, good speed and luck. Me’urra knew his own strengths and wondered if Avalanche would even look at those or simply charge recklessly into some strange training regimen. He really hopped not. It would be so foolish to just jump in without finding out an Azrein’s strengths, but not every Azrein thought that way.

"Hmm." Avalanche noticed only the wariness in Me'urra. It was a good sign. For one thing it meant that the colt was not insane. A little fear was good. Sadly his daughter missed this memo, much like the rest of his family had. Avalanche mused and thought of Me'urra mother, what he knew of his background and during this he walked around the colt and inspected the new muscle that had been laid down during growth. More lean then not, the colt would have to work on his strength which meant excersizes keyed toward that. Speed and stamina to keep those up. He had a feeling that mental problems would not phase the colt, although they would have to be completed as well. But first. One of Avvys favorites and one he was sure an Azrein like his mate Jeppe would abhore.

"Your first task, is to take this people up to the top of that ridge...he paused. Place it down count to twenty. Then pick it up and bring it down here. Place it here for the count of thirty. And repeat until I stay stop."

This was the first step. It would get more interesting...eventually.

Moving a pebble back and forth repeatedly? It sounded like a patience exercise much like when his mother had him count the drops of water from a slow dripping underwater rock. He had been forced to stand in a spot all day and count. If he couldn’t give her a satisfactory answer by the end of the day he would be forced to repeat the exercise the next day. He hated the exercise for the first three times he had been forced to do it. After a time though he just sat through it without too much issue. Annoying yes, but not unreasonable looking back on it. As such he smiled at his new teacher. “Thank you for this opportunity. I would be thrilled to take on the assigned task.” He began his task without further questioning and plucked up the pebble. The task wasn’t hard and at least this one allowed him to move. The was grateful for that much at least.

Avalanche was a touch stunned but was careful not to show it. Perhaps Me'urra had more mettle then not. Interesting. Still. Avalanche wanted to know what would make him break, snap like an old twig. Light up like a forestfire. It would be an interesting endeavor. For only after that could Avalanche begin to fight train him. That would be fun. He smiled.

He himself knew his own buttons and had to be comfortable with them it helped him distinguish between right and wrong. It also helped him keep his cool during a fight. Which was why he was where he was now. Under the six and in charge of the army. Some days he wondered which of his grey hairs were natural. For instance he swore that one there on his leg had been black before Talu.

Not having to think, not having to be brave this kind of exercise Me’urra felt so relaxed going through. It wasn’t that Me’urra wasn’t smart or anything like that but he wasn’t very brave and he certainly was quite weak so as long as Avalanche had him going though simple mindless tasks like this silly pebble thing he would be fine all day long.

After a while he let his mind wander. He wondered what kinds of tasks Avalanche would have him do and what parts of Me’urra would be revealed in such tasks. He hoped that Avalanche wouldn’t bother asking him something too close to Me’urra’s heart. After all Me’urra had his own secrets that he was keeping from everyone save a mostly silent mare that held no interest in anything in this world.

Avalanche thought as he watched Mr'urra excel with the pebble excersize, well patience wasn't a problem. Me'urra was to do this till sundown. And continue for a bit in the morning. Then it would be on to something else, perhaps endurance. Yes. That would do...now he just needed someone to run with him.

Me’urra continued with his task letting his mind wander and almost day dreaming for a while. He didn’t realize that time had flown by around him until it was late into twilight and there were few others around. He kept up with his task wondering how long Avalanche wanted him to do this task. Would he be forced to stay up all night doing this?

Avalanche walked up to the dark green/blue stallion. "Your done, go rest. Continue in the morning. Then we will see what else to do with you." Avalanche nodded at him. Then turned and raced off to his own place. Jeppe most likely waiting for him there.

Nodding to Avalanche he stopped doing the pebble task and found a relatively comfortable spot to lay down for the night. He felt a bit uneasy sleeping in a place where he knew so few others, but this was the price of training. It took some time but Me’urra feel into a light sleep. He was awoken the next morning by the chatter of some Azrein not too far away. Looking up he saw a red bird like Azrein speaking with some other Azrein who turned and walked away. Deciding he best pick up where he left off Me’urra began his pebble task again.

Avalanche stood on his usual perch. It was a fresh, clean morning. Perfect for what he had in store. And there was his means to the madness. The cardinal had arrived. Most excellent. Avalanche tettered down the hill. "What was your name again Red?" Avalanche asked, for the life of him he couldn't remember.

"Me'urra you may stop now, I think it best for you to begin your next test."

Standing proudly before Avalanche the crest on his head fluffed up a bit. He swore people did this just to make him speak. As if his name wasn’t memorable enough. “Cardinal Alfonse Amadeus, Sir.” His back right hoof pawed the ground once. If Avalanche was speaking to him that must mean he had a task. Inwardly he grinned. This would be the chance to show what he was made of and get praised for his skill and accomplishments. The only question in his mind was who would he be eliminating today to do it?

Me’urra stopped in his task and came over to Avalance silently. He awaited his instructions for the next part of the day without comment. He was curious what the Red bird Azrein next to them had to do with anything. Perhaps he was just over thinking things and it had nothing to do with him. Waiting for Avalanche t speak he looked the other Azrein over without really looking at him. He had never seen another Azrein like him.
