The meeting with Takk had gone horribly wrong. She hadn't known what she expected really, but she knew it wasn't that. She hadn't been prepared for him to be so honest with her. Though she supposed she should appreciate it. Now she didn't have to think about it anymore.
But she was thinking about it. She wasn't sure she would ever forget his words to her. Honestly, at this point, she was just happy to be returning home. She hoped Azrael wasn't as upset as he had been when she left. She hoped that he would take her in his paws, and hold her. She missed him, and this bit of freedom made her realize that she didn't miss it. She didn't miss wandering the rogue lands, wondering where her next meal would come from. She lived in heaven, it seemed.
Her paws were sore, but she refused to allow herself to stop moving. She didn't feel like she wanted to eat, and stopping for water would have been smart.. but still she didn't. She had no desire to stop whatsoever. She wanted to get home. She had family there, and if he was over her actions, a mate that loved her.
She hoped that it wouldn't take as long getting there, as it had leaving. She was tired, her muscles worn. She knew she looked worse for wear. She felt a b it beaten down.
Looking up at the sky, she imagined her mother's face. She didn't remember her father's, but she would never forget mothers. It was like her eyes were the stars, and Andais found herself slowing until she completely halted. Her eyes staring at the sky as if she was seeing a ghost.
"He's changed momma." She said to no one, as if the heavens would hear her and pass the message to her mother. She didn't really care if her mother honestly heard her.. But talking to her made her feel better, regardless.
"Takk is no longer my brother it seems. Perhaps it's for the better." Andais said, looking down at her paws, and flattening her ears against her skull.
"I don't know what to do momma. I had thought this would go better. I had thought he would want to see me.." Now she was just feeling sorry for herself and she couldn't help it. When she got no response from the sky, she nodded. She knew that it was unlikely.. But it hadn't stopped her from trying. She had hoped that maybe she would feel what momma would say, but that was unrealistic. Mother was dead, and she was't just thought to be dead.. No.. she was really dead. Andais had seen her fall.
As she began moving, she felt the breeze hit her cheeks. She smiled, and closed her eyes. She felt the breeze hit her cheeks, drying the tears she had not realized she had been crying. She loved her brother, regardless of whether or not he loved her in return. She couldn't have everything, and she had her family. That was the most important part.
The trip was going to be a long one, and she decided that she had to stop. If only for her health. The thirst was beginning to get to her, and she didn;t want to see Azrael again looking like a hot mess. She chuckled at the thought, and imagined Azrael picking the twigs from her mane fluff. He was such a doting, loving mate. She missed him more than anything.
She perked her ears, listening for the sound of running water. She was quite excited to hear that it wasn't too far off. Or it shouldnt have been, if her ears were correct. She turned from her direction a little, to seek out the water that was out there. It didn't take her long to reach the watering hole. It was small, but the size was of no importance. It had water, and that was what she cared about. Her eyes briefly roamed the surface of the water, looking for crocodiles waiting for a quick meal. She was not going to be such a meal. Not today.
Thankfully, she didn't see anything and she lowered her maw. She lapped up some of the water, and it was a relief feeling the liquid down her throat. She hadn't realized how thirsty she had truly been. Parched was a better word to describe how she was feeling.
She lapped at the water for quite a bit, until she could almost hear the water sloshing in her belly as she moved. She had used it to fill the void of hunger in her belly, at least until she got closer to home. It did a fairly decent job, as she felt the hunger satiate. She no longer felt that gnawing feeling of intense hunger. Relieved, she backed away from the water, and looked around her. It was quiet this evening.. Of that, she was surprised.
"Go home." Takk had told her. "Go home, and live your life." Her mind kept wandering on his words, wishing that she had been prepared to hear them. She wanted to see if he was okay, but apparently, the same feeling hadn't been given in regards to Takk. She took a deep breath, shaking her head. This was the last time she would allow herself to ever think about Takk again. Ever. She was going to move on from this point. If he wanted her to be gone, she would be happy to help him.
Feeling a new sense of strength, Andais stretched out her legs. With her head held high, she began on her journey once more. Her journey home, where she would never leave again. She would tell Azrael how much she loved him, and she'd hug each of her children and tell them the same. She wouldn't abandon her family, not the way Takk had abandoned her.
"I'm going to be a new me." She vowed, though she hoped hse could hold to it. She knew what she had now.. She hadn't before.. She wouldn't make such a mistake again.
