Otto was finishing up a shower in the Men's bathroom. Hair was clean, body too. For now he was just relaxing under the hot water. Tension tended to melt away while under the shower. He'd closed his eyes for only a moment.

Upon opening them, he caught glimpse of something dark with multiple legs crawling across his foot.

Whether or not it had been real, or a trick of the eye, was irrelevant. It brought back horrifying memories of the Horsemen lair, of the terrible bug that had eaten its way into his neck.

The short teenager screamed bloody murder, slipping and falling down. He scrambled across the bathroom floor, grabbing a towel and only just barely holding it around his lower body before running for the exit.
His mind was chaos, pure terror taking over his reflexes. He knew only one command; run.

As soon as he found his way out of the bathroom and into the hall, the soaking wet southerner ran into someone; literally.

There were lots of times where Candace was happy to have her own shower. That was pretty much every time she used it. It wasn't that Candace had a huge problem with communal showers or that she had a problem with her body because well..should she really? She was arrogant enough to feel she didn't have a damn thing to worry about when it came to her body in public.

Something else that reminded her of just how amazing it was to have her own shower was that when she walked by her bathroom nobody ******** ran her down.

Atropos had attempted to warn her a moment too late. Candace hit the floor with a cry of surprise, grunting on impact and rubbing the back of her head. s**t. What the hell was...

"Otto?!" What the <********> was he doing on top of her? Naked. Jesus christ, boy! Put some damn pants on!

Okay... okay so he was naked and on top of Candace.

This was just a little bit awkward.

The boy squeaked, re-wrapping the towel around his waits and scurrying off the former room-mate. "S-sorry.." His voice cracked, his tone frantic, his eyes wide. He was still on an adrenaline rush, his mind still imagining that horrible creature crawling on top of his foot, imaginary or not.

The teen shuddered and rubbed at his foot and leg in a craze, feeling like the thing could still be there. His presence in the hallway was creating quite the puddle, his hair still sopping wet and covering most of his face.

"Is it still there!?!?" His voice cracked again, reaching an octave a little high for the teen.

Good. Be horrified, Otto. What the hell were you doing tackling Candace like this. It was a damn good thing she liked the boy or he'd be in the floor right now. She stayed sitting on the floor as Otto scrambled away from her and tried to sort himself out, her brow furrowed and her lips pursed. Something wasn't right. She'd never seen Otto like this before.

"It's okay." She shrugged at his apology and finally stood, offering a hand down to the blonde to help him stand should he want to. "Just, you know, tackling women when you're wearing nothing but a towel isn't exactly the best idea. If you want me just tell me. Jesus." Candace rolled her eyes, forcing the joke to try and lighten the mood and calm him the ******** down.

Seriously though...what was his deal? He was a mess. Wet, terrified..like something in the shower had traumatized him. Candace had to bite back any jokes about something bad-touching him in the shower. "Is what still in there?"

Had Otto been in his right mind he might have taken what Candace said seriously, but in his panic he barely made out bits and pieces of her words. Don't tease a 17 year old with sex, Candace. That's just mean.

"The.... the..." Otto seemed to calm a bit, spotting her hand. He swallowed hard, shakily taking it tightly in his own and getting to his feet. Did he dare confide in Candace about this? He trusted her to a degree, since they'd lived together for a short time.

"Um... there... there was a bug... I think..." He mumbled, turning red. His icy gaze flicked to the door of the men's room, the sound of his shower stall still going.

The..the...? The what? The child molester? The monster? The demon? Did an angry fog creature get into the bathroom? There'd be more chaos of that were the case. What the hell was his problem?

A...bug. Candace blinked. A bug? That was the problem? Otto ran screaming over a bug? She frowned. Harrison had a bug problem too, huh? She couldn't really blame him but...she just couldn't see it sometimes. Maggots, yeah. Those were bad. Spiders? Pretty awful. Locust? Terrible. But just a random bug..she couldn't see it. "Oh, I see..uh..." What the hell could she do about it? "I'm guessing you don't want to go back in there, huh?"

Otto avoided meeting her gaze. It was humiliating admitting what had spooked him, while naked in a towel. The boy shook his head furiously. No, he didn't want to go back in. But...

"My keys... and clothes.. are in there..." Otto twisted uncomfortably, rubbing his arms. He was still shaking, just barely keeping hold of his senses and urges to freak out. That black, wriggling creature from the cave flashed in his mind again and he felt like he could just puke.

But something pressing needed to be done.

"Um... this is'gunna be... awkward but.. could.. you..." He nervously nodded his head toward the bathroom.

Of course they were in there. Candace tried not to groan with displeasure at the implications. She knew what was about to come. She knew what Otto was going to ask her to do. Please let him not ask please let him not as--damnit! Damniiiit whyyyyy why herrrrrrr?! Ugh. But Otto looked really shaken up by this, literally and figuratively. Candace eventually sighed and glanced toward the bathroom door. "Which stall? And was there anyone else in there..?" These things mattered, okay?

"Third stall down.." He mumbled, staring to get cold from standing in the hallway nearly naked. Her second question, he shook his head. "No.. I was alone.." Which was why it was slightly less embarrassing that he screamed in the shower.

Candace looked rather unhappy about this request. Otto wasn't much for begging, but in his panic he cast the most pathetic pair of big blue puppy eyes at her in a silent plea for help.

Oh, good. "Sure, sure. I'll be right back. Stay put." Not that she believed he would wander off like this. Where would he even go? Candace looked up and down the hall for a moment as if checking to make sure no one was about to watch her go in...and then strolled confidently into the men's bathroom.

She was a woman with a purpose. Third stall. Eyes didn't wander. Nope. No wandering. She found his clothes and keys and grabbed them all up before walking purposefully out of the room. She looked a lot less grumpy now that it was all over, keeping a pokerface as she looked Otto up and down. Candace was not checking him out she was just assessing the situation. He had been in the middle of a shower..there were still suds in his hair...but here he was in the middle of the hall now.

"Do you still need to shower?" She asked gently as she offered the boy his clothes. He could at least throw his pants on.

She disappeared into the bathroom, and he was left alone. He kept a constant eye on the halls on either side of him. Anxiously hoping no one would walk down and spot him like this. Any time he heard a noise of footsteps he nervously would look around for the source, frantically thinking up a lie to explain himself. But the footsteps would fade away, never making its source known. Part of him knew most hunters didn't give a s**t, but still...

Candace emerged soon after, nodding to her question as he hurriedly took the pants from her. With little to no grace he fumbled to put them on from under the towel. Now they too were damp now, but he'd be damned if he was tromping around soaking wet in nothing but a towel. Even Otto had some standards. Naked in a communal bathroom? No big deal. Anywhere outside it? Hell no.

"Yeah.. I wasn't really done in there.." He murmured uncomfortably. There was no way he'd go back inside the men's room though. Not for a while.

Candace had to stop herself from asking the stupid question of 'and you obviously aren't going back in there?' to spare the boy's nerves. She frowned, looking up and down the hall again. He couldn't exactly go into the women's bathroom. Sure, Candace would be fine standing guard outside but if he got caught he'd never hear the end of it. And truth be told Candace kind of liked the little blonde brat. He hadn't been a bad roommate for the short while they'd shared her old room here on the first floor...

"Do you want to come upstairs and use my shower?" Candace offered with a shrug.

Don't make me go back there. Don't make me use the women's showers. Multiple worries flashed in his mind, his alternative to returning to the shower already playing in his head. Maybe he could get the suds ut with just his towel? It'd feel weird but...

Her offer came as a relief. Using a woman's shower wasn't horribly humiliating, and it was way more private. "Yeah." He said urgently, maybe a bit too hastily. Maybe a second shower could wash away the awkwardness. or add to it.

He held his other clothes and towel under his arm, his hair dripping over everything. He looked at her intensely, waiting for her to lead the way. "Not keepin ya from nuthin?" He asked nonchalantly. Not that he cared, or anything okay?

Well that was a quicker reaction than she had anticipated. Here Candace had thought maybe Otto would need a minute to think on it, that using a woman's shower would be something he was hesitant about. Apparently not. When a boy wants to shower a boy wants to shower.

She chuckled and shook her head. "Nah, I was heading up to relax anyway. Read a book or something. Come on, let's get up there before someone realizes you ran out of the bathroom screaming like a little girl." Candace teased in a way she hoped came across as affectionate, leading Otto up the stairs to her room. "Guaranteed to have no bugs~."

The blonde practically puffed up at her tease. "What!? I don't scream like a girl!" Otto insisted stubbornly, following after Candace. His wet feet made clapping sounds against the hall floors.

"Bugs are fine, just not THAT bug.." Otto insisted with a grouchy expression, his default expression at least. He needed to assure her spiders and insects didn't bug him. (PUN). Heaven forbid she think he was a pansy boy.
