After her first win against a Ysali, the next day Kadryn left early to go seek another dragon. She could win against them, that she now knew. But she wondered if she'd met a weak one, or maybe it'd been a fluke. After all, you never knew for sure right? So now Kadryn was heading out into the nearby forest ot test her luck and strength once more. She hadn't quite made it to the edge of the forest when she felt... something, like someone was watching her. Pausing, Kadryn looked around, was she being stalked? If so, than what or who? Hopefully not a dragon she thought; but as she looked around all she could see were the overcast skies beginning to lighten with the sun rise and a quiet morning scene. The forest in front of her was silent, though she could hear the chirping of the early rising birds. Hmm, was it another orderite following her? Unfurling her wings, she flitted up into the long broad branches of a tall tree. Peering around, she tried to locate the watcher. She could see nothing stirring the tall grasses she'd just passed through, nor could she see anything in the darkness that lingered beneath the tree's boughs.
Scratching her head in bewilderment, Kadryn wondered if she'd imagined the feeling of being watched. Suddenly she froze; she could feel something behind her, something dangerous. A grin crept across her face; a dragon, it had to be! Kadryn quickly spun around, her blood starting to burn in her veins at the thought of battle. She stared into the head that had lowered behind her. Kadryn had forgotten to look up into the tree she'd flown into; a dragon had been perched in it's boughs. "Found you," she laughed as she launched herself at the large green head.
Latter that morning, Kadryn limped home. This dragon had been faster than the last one, Kadryn had not been able to dodge it's claws. "Oh well, lesson learned; dragon's aren't all the same." She sighed, "Now I need to work on how to fight faster opponents." She smiled, maybe there was a use to sparring her classmates, they were fast and maybe there was one who would be able to help Kadryn learn more fighting tricks. "Or Da, he's fast! I'll ask him tonight!"
