Chaonis had read the note, and debated coming to the park to see her. Or at least, he had debated stopping himself while on the way, which counted as the same thing really. He knew, though, that since he had set out already he was not just going to turn around and go home.

He wanted to see something, to figure something out, but he had no idea what it was.

The Eternal Senshi entered the park and felt around for any other auras. He could distantly feel others out on patrol but they were no where near this place. He wandered toward one that felt much closer.

One that was Chaotic.

He steeled himself from feeling anything for the moment. He was not used to it and, more than that, he didn't like it. He just wanted to get through whatever this was and find some kind of normal. Whatever that meant. It wasn't a situation he could punch his way through, or use sarcasm to get out of. He'd exhausted all his usual tactics. Now he was in uncharted territory.

He saw her standing not too far off from him, and watched her for a moment. He knew she was able to sense him, but he was not trying to sneak up on her, anyway. She'd invited him here. He folded his arms over his chest, not drawing closer yet.

And he didn't say anything.

Anxiety was to kind a weird for the tangle of emotions that were running rampant through the Senshi of Tumbleweeds as she watched the sky over the park fall from pink to dark indigo. The tips of her exposed nails were terribly chipped from nervous nibbling, and she had asked her self countless times now what she was doing there. Granted, it was a little late for second thoughts, having already delivered the note.

From the second she'd passed back through the mirror in the basement she'd been obsessing over whether or not she'd done the right thing. She'd never felt so conflicted in her life, and even before she felt the arrival of the strong order aura she'd been panicking.

The familiar finger of power caught the girl's bath in her throat, and as she felt him approach from behind the over flow of emotion was almost dizzying. Her eyes felt hot, and her chest was raising and falling much too quickly. By the time he came to a stop behind her a fine tremor had started in her hands and begun to work it's way up her arms. She was shivering, and it had nothing to do with the temperature.

He didn't speak, and the silence that stretched between them was too much for the DMC to bare. "I wasn't sure if you'd come." Her voice had always been a soft thing, but it sounded terribly fragile as she turned her head to look at him over her shoulder. Slender arms raising to curl around herself proactively.

The bruise he'd given her was still there, like some dark blossom against her delicate jaw, but it was healing. What should have taken weeks to fade would be gone in a few days time.

Chaonis had no words for a moment, just watching her and taking in her expression, her shivering, the bruise on her jaw. She was nervous, like he was, and she was just as lost. They were in a strange situation that neither had asked for, which left the both of them without anyone to guide them.

Which sucked. Chaonis liked things easy, or at least to have someone else making the calls so he could blame them when things went wrong.

Like hitting her. That should not have happened, and he watched her face, eyes lingering on her jaw. It basically represented more of his confusion than he could even wrap his head around. He was supposed to punch her, she was a dark senshi and her chaos made her his enemy. He was sure she had hurt some of his friends and thus deserved it. But looking at her now, feeling as he did, he couldn't help but think she didn't.

It just messed him up. He hated not being certain of himself.

"Me either," he said at length, shrugging his shoulders. "I don't know why you invited me. Unless you want a matching bruise on the other side of your face?" His defense system was up and running, at least. Sarcasm and violence rarely steered him wrong. He didn't move though, just watching her and feeling the tension mounting.

He took a step closer, his arms loosening from their locked position over his chest.

He looked every bit as lost and confused as she was. It should have been comforting, but really, it did nothing to ease the nerves that were tightly knotted within her. If he'd been angry it might have been easier. Hell, if he could have just continued with his assault on the roof... At least then she'd have known there was nothing salvageable between them and she could have moved on, but this? This was almost torture.

At the very least he was honest when he admitted he didn't think he'd come, it was brief, and he hid quickly behind his shield of sarcasm and violence, but she'd seen how vulnerable he felt, if only for a second.

She turned then to face him, shoulder leaning to rest against the light pole beside her. Pale tongue sweeping over suddenly dry lips before she dropped her gaze to the sidewalk between them. "Could you really hit me again?" Her voice sounded thick, and she had to clear it before she continued. "Unprovoked, cold and callous?" He'd already proved that it was within him to strike her, but somehow she didn't feel as though he could do it again, specially if she wasn't willing to fight back.

Her fingers tightened where they wrapped around her own forearms, and when she looked up at him there was a challenge in her eyes. "Are we hurting anyone?" Straightening, she took a step forward to match the one he'd taken a moment before. "Is it anyone's business but are own what we do?" Then she took another.

"We aren't effecting anyone else." Her voice was firmer now, strengthened by the frustration she was feeling. "I know you feel something." It was almost an accusation. "Are you going to keep running away from what you want?" She didn't understand the white moon's loyalty to absentee queen, but she left that out. It wasn't helpful, and really it didn't matter. She didn't see the order aligned senshi as her enemy. They were misguided soldiers waiting to be saved.

But that was neither here nor there. This wasn't about business, this was about them.

"Of course I could hit you, you're the enemy," he lied, grunting and folding his arms tighter again. More defense, more shrinking away. But he couldn't pry his arms from where they were now, and he could not take a swing at her now. He even regretted it, though that tight guilt that welled in his chest was wholly unwanted and made him want to run away.

He tried to keep himself composed, however.

When she moved on to the real root of the issue he shook his head.

"I guess not," he said warily. Who were they hurting? Not each other. Well, not on purpose, anyway, but wasn't that the point? They were supposed to be enemies. He would go out and hurt her friends without pause, and she would do the same to his, but when they met there was going to be a peace clause? He wasn't sure how it would work, but then, if no one knew then it didn't matter.

Hell, why should it matter even if everyone saw them? If they did hurt others just by whatever this was? Things like that had never mattered to Chaonis before. He wondered if there was something else here, something more that was giving him such pause.

But thinking about it would not net him the answer.

"And how do you know I want you?" he asked, drawing toward her now. He took slow, measured steps, his arms finally falling to his side. It was like a literal sign that his defenses were falling, even just a little. He was watching her, willing to talk at least.

"Maybe you're just chasing what you want. Why is what I feel so important? What do you want?"
PostPosted: Sat Sep 08, 2012 11:40 am

Ginger brows rose up speculatively at his so quick response, and it was clear by expression she didn't really believe him. He'd had to work himself up to hitting her the first time, and it'd been clear by his actions after the fact that he hadn't been able to do it again, enemy or not.

Perhaps if she was provoking him, but she had no desire to do that.

When he reluctantly agreed with her some measure of tension eased from her shoulders and back, and her grip on her own arms loosened as stood a little more straight. Their galavanting was no one's business but their own, and to hell with anyone that said otherwise. They might have been soldiers, but even they were entitled to having a life of their own.

She almost laughed when questioned how he felt about her, and she dropped her hands to her sides, hands moving to indicate the park around them. "You're here, aren't you?" He was so stubborn, and yet that was one of the many things she liked about him. The shadow of a smile twitched against pale pink lips, there and gone as he began to move slowly towards her.

"I'm not chasing you," she reminded him simply. She hadn't run after him when he'd fled the other night, and she hadn't hunted him down after. All she'd done was left a note and let him make his own choice. "Why shouldn't your feelings be important? Not just to me, but to yourself as well. You know what I want. What do you want?"

In all their time together Navi and come to learn many things about the Senshi of Danger. One being the way he responded to a challenge. She'd worded her note carefully to prickle at his pride, and she'd done the same now to needle past his natural defenses and pull an honest answer from him.

Chaonis moved to her, pushing her back against the nearest solid surface, which happened to be a tree. He looked down at her, tall as he was, examining her features as he considered her question. His eyes were blazing.

"I just want you," he said at length. He did not know what capacity he meant and he was resolved not to explain it. He wanted her, her body against his, her lips on his. Was it just that? This strong, physical pull he felt toward her?

It could still be simple, if that was just what it was. At least, as far as the usually confident Senshi of Danger was concerned. The feelings he had for her were not the same as the ones he had for Rosalind, once upon a time. The ones he felt for Grus, or even Pasiphae or Kallichore. He had a lot of complicated relationships, but none quite as difficult as this.

Because this blurred the line between being loyal to the Senshi and being true to himself. Which was more important in the end?

As a selfish teenager, he felt he knew the answer. Yet, as an increasingly stalwart warrior, his decision was different. He felt he was making no ground with this thought process, and wondered if just not thinking about it could be an option as well.

Her poking at him was enough to do what she wanted, though. He stepped up to the challenge, and watched her keenly, lingering unfairly close now.

"I want to hear you say it, too."

The was the briefest flash of nerves in the dark senshi's eyes as Chaonis advanced to force her back against a tree, there and gone in the space of a second. It would have been stupid not to be wary of him, specially after what he'd done the last time they met, but when nothing harsher then the bite of bark against her back followed the action she calmed. So to speak.

The look in his eyes as he stared down at her had her heart hammering within her chest, and her hands were tingling with the want to touch him.

When he spoke her breath caught in her throat, and she was wide eyed as she stared up at him. It was what she'd wanted, an admission to the feelings she knew he had for her, and for a moment she didn't dare believe her ears.

It wasn't as though it'd been easy, needling the truth out of him, but she'd managed to get to him quicker then she would have expected. It made her appreciate his admission all the more, and when she regained the sense to breath she lifted slender arms to curl them around his waist, holding him to her. For all their uncertainty, this felt right.

He spoke, and she lifted on tiptoes so the warmth of her cheek rested against the stubbled line of his jaw. "I've wanted you from the first moment we met." Simple, honest, and about as uncomplicated as it got. When she was with Chaonis everything else in her life just seemed to melt away. "Fiyero."

A small turn of her head brought her lips against the corner of his mouth, and she ghosted a kiss there, hesitant and soft. Waiting for him to make it more.

Chaonis let her hold him, though he was not the most hug oriented person in the world. He was tense, but he seemed to relax with her touch in one way, and grow more wary in another. But when he told his brain to shut up, told his conscience (what tiny one there was) to ******** off, he found it was all too easy to stand there with her against him.

He ducked his head a bit on impulse to even out their height difference, though she was still on her tip toes. He kissed her neck and the delicate curve of her jaw lightly as she spoke to him, a shudder moving down his spine.

So here he was, her Fiyero. She was his Elphaba, a dream he wasn't supposed to chase. At least, as far as he knew of the story. If he were honest, he would have to admit he looked it up a lot more than he said. He might have lacked blue diamonds and she had less than green skin, but the theory still felt the same.

If he let himself go, when he was around her, maybe he really was dancing through life. He felt her kiss him and turned his head to meet her fully, catching her lips and kissing her without letting himself think about it. Thought was where all the trouble lay.

He really did have a lot more in common with Fiyero than he realized.

As he calmed Navi did as well. Helped along by the brush of lips along the soft skin of her throat and line of her jaw. There were butterflies circling around within her, fluttering madly with every gentle touch.

It wasn't hard to forget everything else when she was within his arms, and despite everything, the world around her seemed to just melt away. They were in their own little space, untouchable, and so long as he kept her close nothing could touch them.

Pretty to think so at least. Navi wasn't so naive to believe it, but she'd cherish that thought for now.

His lips met her's at last and she all but melted against him as her entire body seemed to alight with tingles. It was crazy how terribly she'd missed this. His touch, his lips on her's. It had her head spinning, and her knees would have buckled if he hadn't been holding her lightly against him.

Her lips twitched in amusement as the kiss broke, and she buried her face against the warmth and intoxicating scent at his throat. "Kiss me too fiercely, hold me too tight.." It was a line of lyrics from Wicked, and it was followed by a shaky little laugh. Part of her expected him to know it, while the other told her she was silly to believe it.

Chaonis recognized the line, shaking his head. He wondered if this was all some big set up, but that was too much for even him to tell himself to believe. It was easy to hate an enemy, but when there was no big trick, no evil plan and no ulterior motives, it made calling her an enemy impossible.

So whatever they were, he was just going to have to roll with it.

He kissed her with surprising tenderness, at least for him. He had never really explored this side of himself, though he had been with other girls. This was different, in many ways, some obvious and some not. He felt more connected for being so terribly far apart.

In any case, he was there with her now, and if she needed help believing it, as the next line in the song would indicate, then he would provide it. At least while they were there, in this moment, and there was nothing else to distract them from it. He turned his brain off and just gave in to what his instincts told him was just fine.

However wrong it was, it felt right. Well, at least right now it did, and that was really all that mattered.

"We can't stay here all night," he said dumbly, though he wanted to, "and if someone finds us we're going to be in deep s**t." From either side, he imagined. Though there were very few people he wouldn't fight off at the moment.

Navi wasn't patient enough a person to set up anything as intricate as a long con. The Senshi of Danger had nothing to worry about in that regard. She laughed again as he shook his head at her, the sound soft and a little uncertain. It was still a little odd, being in his arms, sharing each other's company again like they had in the past.

It was still a little unbelievable. As if at any moment the happy scene would crumble.

He kissed her again, and she tipped her head back for a better angle, nibbling gently at his lower lip as her insides did excited little flips. This was what she wanted, Him, Chaonis. He wasn't perfect, far from it, but she was drawn to him like no one else. Grant was sweet, and he gave her everything she wanted, but 'strong' would never be the first word a person thought of when he came to mind..

The poor young man was far from her mind at the moment though. She slid her hands up to trail her fingers through the softness of his short hair, the softness of her cheek pressing against the stubble kissed roughness of his own.

He spoke, reminding her that they couldn't simply stand there all night, and as if on cue the compact mirror tucked away in her fuku demanded her attention. She flinched, a hand darting down to press over the place between her breasts where the mirror was stored. "I know," she admitted unhappily, gaze dropping from his face to search the surrounding park as if she expected to find one of her fellow court members lurking there. "You're right, we should probably.." Her voice trailed off, and she frowned as she turned her attention back to the young man in front of her, hooking two fingers withing the top of his chest armor she she could tug him down to her for another kiss, this one deeper.

When they parted she stepped away, a unsteady smile sliding along pale pink lips. "I'll find you," she assured him, that weak smile growing into a confident smirk. "I know where you frequent." She was backing away from him, but there was a definite sway to her hips that was all for his benefit as she turned on a feel and began walking.

Her body now safely between them, she pulled the compact from her fuku and popped it open, only to snap it closed again hastily. Her queen had been looking out at her, but there, in the reflective glass, she'd seen a flash of orange and black. "s**t.."

The Senshi of Danger watched her as she pulled away from him, eyes traveling down her form and back up again. He did not want her to go too far, but he was the one that had opened his stupid mouth to say something about it.

He kissed her deeply and almost roughly before she escaped away from him, his eyes still on her, though now they paused about half way up as she sashayed away from him. His eyebrows lifted and he shook his head.

The view was certainly good.

He let her go though, standing behind her and watching her go before he turned and headed off in his own direction. He had no idea they had been spotted, but then, he was not too sure of the communication methods with the dark senshi circle. He was just thinking they had gotten away with it, and that maybe, just maybe, it would work like this.
