Lynnea walked through a forest, quietly picking up her feet and setting them down again. So far, she'd walked around what had seemed like an entire range of mountains just to avoid what had looked like an endless sea of hot sand, and she was quite glad for it. She'd been travelling south from her homeland for what seemed like ages - it had been at least a few weeks, and she still hadn't seen another soul. Or at least, she hadn't met any - they might have just gone into hiding if they'd heard her approaching, but somehow she doubted that; Lynnea had been taught how to walk silently for as long she could walk.

Beginning to get bored, Lynnea looked around for a snack. As far as she could tell, the grass the grew sporadically under the shade of the trees was the only safe bet - she didn't see any familiar plants. Reaching down with her neck, she began to chew thoughtfully on a tuft under a few maple trees.

Puffing out his chest, the young colt huffed and walked through the forest finally getting away from his father for the time being. He was always training or sleeping. It was never anything fun in between until he was done all his chores. He huffed and walked what seemed like forever before spotting a mare with antlers? What the hell? Even though they were small, he was use to males only having them so it was a little odd. Could she be both? Wouldn't that be amusing and twisted.

"Hey!" He shouted as he trotted over to her peeking up a little bit at her horns before examining the rest of her. "Are you some kind of strange creature or something? Why do you have horns? Your a mare are you not?" He huffed giving a small snort before plopping down on the ground keeping his bluish white eyes on her. "Hmmm you look very grass like to me. Are you a Cerynei though? My family bloodline has a lot of them in it." He nodded giving her a slight glare.

Lynnea heard his breathing and loud steps long before he saw her - and his brash, young voice quickly followed once he spotted her. The foal was beautiful, but the words that came out of his mouth soon crushed any illusions Lynnea might have had that he was serene. Cringing as his voice assaulted her eardrums, she just looked down at him as he looked up at her, and decided to do her best to answer as many of the questions that were pouring out of his mouth as she could. First, though, she swallowed the bit of grass that was still left in her mouth. Hadn't he been taught some kind of etiquette? Interrupting other's meals wasn't always such a good idea.

Huffing a little bit herself, Lynnea smiled grimly about her horns; where she came from, many, if not all, the females had little antlers. The mares with the largest antlers were deemed the most desirable. So for her, with such small antlers and such an upbringing, antlers were perfectly normal on mares. "No, I am not a strange creature, and yes, I am a mare with antlers," she said to the colt, resisting the urge to roll her eyes. Such a gesture of insolence would not be taken well at home, but she doubted that the colt would care. Stepping delicately around him to continue on her way, she added, "I am a Cerynei, and it's called camouflage." All does had camouflage, as far as she knew - the more intricate, the better. Of course, the camouflage tended to dilute itself when paired with a showy male, but that wasn't something that most cared about. Arranged marriages usually took care of it.

"Can I help you with something, young sir?" Lynnea asked the colt, looking over her shoulder at him. He had a horn as well, and a strange tail; it was long and had a tuft of fur on the end, a bit like an elongated version of her own. However, it was the set of scales on his legs that really struck her - what could he possibly need them for? She kept her questions to herself, though, and continued to look askance at him.

The young colt immediately snorted at the mares words and at her question. He really didn't need any kind of help let alone talk to a mare. He shrugged and dug his hoof into the dirt wondering if his father was going to get angry with him for spending too much time outside the family limit. Then again why should he care? He only listened to his father during training and beyond that he was a royal pain in the a**. "Help? No I don't need any help. Do I look like I do?" He asked her in an agitated soft of way before shifted lightly onto his right side curling his tail around his left back leg. He didn't like feeling inferior and whenever he was asked if he needed help it pushed his buttons. Being hotheaded that wasn't hard to do, but it would irritate him either way.

"So...what are you up to? I mean it has to be something if your wandering around here aimlessly?" He asked her in an attempt to get something going here. He needed something to do and this was probably the only way he was going to get it. "Come on maybe we can go hunting or something." He told her with a firm nod as he slowly began wandering off.

Lynnea gave him a long, wary look. Hunting? If he meant hunting animals, that was abominable. If not, what could he possibly mean by hunting? Sighing, she decided to answer his other questions first. Again.

"I am not wandering aimlessly, despite your assumptions," she said, already beginning to get frustrated with this foal. He had not been raised as a gentleman, obviously, something to which she was not accustomed. She didn't know how to deal with it, and so went by what her emotions were telling to say. "I have traveled quite a distance from my homeland, and mean to continue until I can journey no further or am waylaid, whichever comes first."

Now it was her turn to ask the questions. She had done her best to be polite to this audacious foal thus far and thought she was doing well. "May I ask your name, as you've forgotten to introduce yourself? Mine is Lynnea, if you were wondering... And what exactly do you mean by... hunting?" It had taken her a moment to spit out the last word, as it tasted sour in her mouth. She was sure that the only thing he could mean was the hunting of animals. If so, she would do her best to make a clean getaway as fast as possible - if he had Cerynei in his family, who on the face of the green earth would teach him to hunt animals? And why would he ever be inclined to do such a thing? The very idea made Lynnea feel sick.

Flicking his tail, he wandered a little bit away from her unsure of what she meant by her comments. He couldn't imagine going on a journey with no end in sight. "I see. Do you have a reasoning for being on such a journey?" He asked her and even though he didn't fully understand her words, he was hoping she would explain to him about why she was going on this journey. His cousin was doing something similar, but there was a meaning behind it. This...just seemed like she was looking for a place to be or a place to feel welcome.

"My name is Zachariah. I guess my manners aren't as good as my family." He shrugged not really caring all that much. "Hunting? Oh well part of my training was to learn how to track other animals. I really didn't mean kill animals. I'm not a carnivore obviously so it would be more tracking things or if you prefer we could go scrounging for berries and other fruit." He nodded. He was sure he sickened her because most wouldn't want to harm other animals unless they had a sick mind.

Lynnea looked at the colt with new, unjudging eyes. So he didn't mean hunting, he meant tracking. But before she would address that, she answered his other question. "My reasons... They are probably a bit questionable. They are not impure; they just... they would probably only make sense to me," she explained, hoping to sate Zachariah's curiosity. Lynnea didn't want to get to involved in that topic of conversation - it just led down a sad road.

"Zachariah is a good, strong name," she replied, smiling. "I wouldn't mind looking for berries, but I am not very good at tracking, I'm afraid. I can hide my own tracks well enough, though. For what are you training?" Lynnea asked, a bit curious herself, now - it must have something to do with his family, as he seemed very close to them, however far away he was at the moment.

As she waited for his answer, Lynnea started wandering in the direction she had last seen a fruit-bearing bush. Zachariah could take the lead if he wanted to, as she wasn't entirely sure if the berries she'd seen were even safe to eat.

There was in no way Zachariah was going to pry her on that topic. It seemed to make her uncomfortable and that was the last thing he wanted to do. "Ah I see..well..sometimes it's better to talk about things. Never know what can happen when you do. Heh reminds me when I ranted at my brother about training and how much I hated it. Really brought to the light that I honestly don't want to be a warrior." He nodded to her and shrugged a little bit. He didn't want to live that kind of life, but he was doomed to be. He couldn't change it and it was something he was so use to now, he probably wouldn't be able to change it. It was just...urgh complicated.

"A strong name? I guess it is. I just hate it when someone calls me Zach. Makes me think I'm some runt colt or something." He snorted giving a flicking of his tail. "Well then it's time for you to learn!" He grinned giving a small nudge to her shoulder. "Oh..I'm training to be a warrior. It's kind of in my blood and my father won't have it any other way so...yeah..I'm going to be a battler." He shrugged and slowly began to follow her.
