 Alu-lote was starring out over the greater plains. To her right was the river that would feed into Sundar Lake. She was south of the village of Forlu where her bond was busy managing the shop and doing an inventory. The mare hadn’t felt like dealing that mess for today. Stretching her wings out she considered taking a flight. It’d been quite some time since she had last flown. The thought made her miss Dante and their son Valerio. Sighing she shook her head. Blinking back tears she cast those thoughts from her mind. The sun was just starting to rise and she didn’t feel like starting the day off with tears.

 Karia giggled as she watched Bastett leave. Finally, her friend was getting some nerve. The blue, green, and creme filly bounced into the other direction, leaving her family and their protection as she did so, not caring that Damir would probably freak and send Bhassie after her. Karia rolled her bright blue eyes. She loved Bhaskar, but he was older and acted like he knew more than she.. He never even took her with him when he ran off to play.. and she was tired of Cale and Darrian's games.. They always involved Mother, and it was too much to be thinking about the loss of their mother ALL the time.. Besides... they both had wings and she didn't.. Wings like Daria... The thought made her sad. Shaking the sad thoughts from her head she giggled as a butterfly caught her attention, and began to chase it gleefully, not exactly knowing where it was she was going, but not exactly caring either. She was a big girl. She could take care of herself.

Alu-lote stood and watched the sun rise. It was beautiful and peaceful. When it had finally risen enough to start the morning she thought she could hear giggling. Looking around she saw a little foal running about after a butterfly. Blinking she wondered how lost in thought she had been watching the sunrise. Shaking her head she had to chuckle at herself. “I’m getting old.” She was glad Luin wasn’t there or else the other mare would never let her forget it. Figuring the foal was bonded to one of the travelers who came to the village Alu-lote didn’t really think her presence shocking. Others came and went from the village all the time. She tucked her wings back and readied herself for the role of a tour guide that she had often had to take on when there were new humans and Azrein to the village. She had done so with the Skh’et that lived in the shop with her bonded now and Alu-lote thought she was good at it all things considered. She started walking toward the foal letting go of the thoughts of taking a flight for now. "Hello there." Her tone was cheery and happy.

Karia jumped at the sound of another's voice. Her blue eyes went wide as she looked at the large and pretty female. "H.. hello..." She said, her eyes still wide as she took in the sight of the pretty sparkly female.
The feathered feet of the female reminded Karia of her brother Damir.. and the only memory she had of her mother.. the pretty... feathered hooves... That was the only thing that Karia could remember of her mother... and it was a memory she cherished.. So naturally.. Karia instantly liked this female.

Alu-lote mentally cooed. The little filly was so cute and shy looking a part of her reminded the mare of how Losa used to be when she was young. Alu-lote looked from the girl back to the village. “Since you seem to be new you might want to be careful and not stray too far from the village little swirl princess. I’m sure you’d make you bonded or parents very worried and they’d search all over the woods for you. Once they found you fine and well they’d scold you like didn’t have anything better to do for six or seven days other than listen to a stuffy old lecture.” She winked. Every foal at some point or another knew what it was like to be scolded and have it go on and on. Alu-lote knew she was guilty herself of giving such lectures to her own foals.
(only now just realized Alu-lote's post color is off and is gonna be to lazy to fix it. Good news.. there is no excuse for me not to bold speech now. )

"V..village?" Karia looked around, her eyes still widened. "Oh no... Damir and Cece are gonna be soooo maaaaddd....." She shrank back, her ears layed back in fear. How did she get so far away so fast? She'd never hear the end of it from Bhaskar or Darrian now... Oh bother... She was in a pickle... The little filly gave a small sigh as she looked around, trying to recognize something. Hopefully this was the village that Aila traded with... If so, then Karia really wasn't too far from home... or lost... Oh... she hoped she wasn't lost.

She wasn’t with someone who came to the village? Oh dear.. This could get awkward. She gave a kind smile to the little one. “Now don’t get your tail in a knot little swirl. I’m sure that Damir and Cece are just going to be a bit worried is all.” She sighed. “I’m afraid you really can’t get out of a lecture, but let’s see if we can’t curtail the damage a bit. Let’s start with names and move on from there. I’m Alu-lote. My real name is much longer and much more stuffy.” She made a face. Trying to get a laugh to relieve some of the filly’s clear fear of the situation. “Dome Menel Alu-lote. I’m from the village of Forlu which is just off that way.” She gave a nod in the direction with her head. “What’s your name dear heart?”
(.. and I did do post color.. geeze I'm too OCD on some things. )

Karia studied Alu carefully, debating whether it'd be safe to tell her so she could help her out.. Though.. her mother had trusted people.. But that hadn't been what hurt her though was it? Just some ebil peoples... Karia sighed as she shook her head to herself. "I'm Karia... Daughter of Daria and Kukai.... Though.. I live wif my big brudder Damir and his mate Cecelia. We live with the... human Aila... I'm not esssactly sure where that is..." She scrunched her nose up.

The name Daria sounded familiar but Alu-lote couldn’t quite place it off the top of her head. None of the others seemed to ring a bell either. What was more troubling was that the little one had no idea where she was lived normally. “You live with a human too?” Alu-lote gave her a big grin. “So do I her name is Reoakee and she’s a half elf who helps to heal others with herbs and such.” Come to think on it that was a good idea. Pestering her bonded mentally she summarized the situation simply. Reo, I’ve found a lost little filly, she doesn’t know where she lives and the names she can give me are her brother Damir, his mate Cecelia. The filly’s mother is Daria and her partner Kukai… not sure why by she lives with her brother. Any of that sound familiar to you? She got a less then polite grumble from her bonded who hated to be interrupted while working, but Alu-lote felt happier when her bonded promised to look into it at the local tavern.

Karia smiled up at the female. "Well we live on Aila's land. Thalanir is my big brudder's Chosen, and his mate, Cecelia, Chose Thalanir's mate, Kyrielle." She stopped her talking for a moment to try and figure out exactly what she had said. Jeez, all this choosing stuff was confusing! "Aila was Chose by my mother Daria.. but.. she died... The meaners hurt her and Val.. Valdien..." Karia looked away, blinking away the tears that formed in her eyes.

Leaning down she nosed the filly while her mind was awhirl. No wonder the names stuck in her mind. Her chosen had met and knew Kyrielle! It was a very small isle it seemed. “I’m sorry about your mother Daria. I know she was very brave. All of the valiant souls who tried to save Valdien were the greatest light of our kind.” She didn’t know if the words would help but it was something she could do. “You know what though. I think we can get you home. I’ll tell you a secret. While I don’t know anyone in your family personally I know someone who does. My chosen is a grumbly cranky healer and she knows Kyrielle.” Alu-lote wasn’t going to mention that Kyrielle was one of Reo’s few friends. “In fact my friend Luin knows her too.” She relied the information back to Reoakee and felt her bonded’s interest perk. “Would you like to meet my bonded?”

Karia's eyes lit up. If this azrein had a Chosen, that meant she was good! And if the Chosen knew Kyrielle she could get home! How awesome would that be!? "Yes! I would love to meet your Chosen!" She squeaked happily.

Stifling a laugh Alu-lote wasn’t that surprised to find that the little one was willing to meet a chosen. Many Azrein liked to meet another’s chosen. Sometimes the choices were surprising. “Well then let’s head toward the village a bit. I’ve asked my bonded to meet us outside of it so you don’t have to meet to many strangers.” She figured the filly was young enough meeting to many new people would be boring and odd.Reo was stretching her hands over her head as she walked. The air was nice and clear as she mulled over the information Alu-lote gave to her.

Karia grinned up at the big pretty female that seemed to know foals well. "Okie Dokey!!" She called brightly, her little tail waving back and forth in happiness and excitement. She happily followed the sparkly mare.. oooh sparklies.... She happily followed the sparkly adult towards where her Chosen would meet her. Any friend of big sister Celia and Kyrielle were friends of hers right?

Alu-lote suppressed a grin. It was just like when Losa had been very young. So very cute. Stretching out her wings while she walked a part of her did regret not flying today but getting Karia home was more important. She listened to the filly following her but didn’t turn her head to check on her. That might have lead the little one to feel watched which wouldn’t’ have been fun.
Reo saw the pair approaching and started to walk towards them. She sneezed twice on the way there. Gah cleaning was hazardous to her health. She should have just left it all to Mei. Getting close enough she waved to Alu-lote and looked at the filly. Her face was her typical neutral look that for some reason so many thought was angry. She didn’t get it but didn’t’ think on it too much. She didn’t exactly know where Kyrielle lived but she had a pretty good idea of how to get in contact with them.
