The weather was nice, which for one greatly improved Sahar's mood. For second, she was off on an adventure with a cub she had just met! Alright so maybe the last part wasn't too pleasing, but other than that the undersized jackal was enjoying herself. She was heading in the direction of a great place too. A small wateringhole crowded by the company of prey. Granted it wasn't the best place to start exploring; but it was sure to have something of interest. Or at least Sahar hoped it would, or else she'd be dragging Kakalina out here for nothing!

Speaking of Kakalina, Sahar hadn't heard her speak in a while. She could of course he naturally quiet, but Sahar felt she might have fallen behind. She turned her head around and looked at the red cub behind her. She seemed a little, cautious? Sahar was like that... Around lions and cheetahs, but something about the idea of a exploration was hindering the cub. Sahar had noticed this when she first suggested exploring to her. The jackal would be careful not to get them involved in any life threating situations; she considered herself to be pretty good at avoiding danger after all.

The little red cub wasn't paying much attention to the weather; she was too busy trying to pay attention to the area where they were going. She had her ears pressed back and was walking a little slower than the jackal. The memory of her first and only exploration had left a bad impression on her and left her terrified. The idea of it happening again scared her and made her want to run from her new friend back to her pride and her family.

Instead she chose to try to fight the fear and keep following the small jackal. If she wasn't scared, why should Kakalina be? The small dog was probably older than her and knew more about the areas than she did. She tried to loosen up as she continued walking towards the watering hole.

As the two neared the wateringhole, the prey animals started cautiously backing off. Some stayed, not concerned by two small animals heading towards them. When they arrived, Sahar took a short drink before she ran around the preimemiter of the area. It was safe. Nothing to be wary of.

"Anything you want to look for?" She asked Kakalina. Perhapes the cub had something specific she wanted to find. The little jackal was more than willing to look for it, if it would make her new friend smile.

When they got to the watering hole, Kakalina took a drink and sat down by the pool while Sahar ran around to make sure the area was clear. Kakalina kept her eyes peeled for anything that would sneak up on them.

When Sahar got back, Kakalina had loosened up slightly. "I don't know...I like to look for bugs." she shrugged her tiny shoulders slightly.

A wateringhole was bound to have tons of bugs near it. "Lets look for bugs then." Sahar nodded in approvel. Sahar then sniffed the ground in attempts to pick up some sort of scent. What types of bugs would she find? Flies more or less, but other than flies there had to be something interesting.

"Alright," the little cub agreed and watched the small fox start sniffing around to see if she could pick up any scent. Kakalina took a breath to steady herself and set her nose to the ground. She picked up something familiar and followed it to a small hole with a small worm peaking out. She smiled happily at the sight. "Worm!"

Sahar had managed to find many scents, but that was somewhat troubling. Which one should she follow first? She followed one scent to the edge of the wateringhole. A little spider was struggling to stay a float. The fox bent down and attempted to pick it up with her snout. "Spider!" She shouted happily.

The worm Kakalina found kept its head out until she nudged it with her nose, wanting to play with it. The worm retreated back into the hole it had made causing the small cub to pout. When she heard her companion call out spider, the little cub's attention went straight to her and she ran towards the fox as Sahar tried to pull it out of the water with her snout.

"Can I see?" she asked excitedly.

Sahar carefully stuck her nose in the water near the spider. She waited until the little guy was on her nose before she lifted her head. "Here he is." She moved slowly, as to ensure the spider didn't fall off. She was pretty sure one of his poor legs had fallen off, but it was alright. At least he wasn't drowning anymore.

The cub's tiny green eyes widened when she saw the spider dangling on the jackal's nose. "Wow!" Even though it was missing at least one leg from what she could see, it still looked amazing. And tiny! At least compared to both of them.

Sahar was always amused by what cubs found amusing. Bugs for one. Sahar never paid heed to bugs until she played with cubs. They always seemed unimportant until cubs had a go at them; then they were amazing freaks of nature. "You want to hold 'em?" She suggested to Kakalina.

If it was possible, the green eyes of the cub widened even more. She had never held any of the bugs she had practiced hunting; mostly she used them for pouncing practice and a but of amusement when she wanted to be alone. "Can I?" she asked slightly astonished as she leaned closer so the spider could set on her nose.

Sahar watched as the tiny, frightened spider crawled onto her friend's nose. She grinned happily at the cub's reaction. "He's so tiny isn't he?" Or at least she thought it was a he. She wasn't sure if spider's had genders... She knew they didn't talk; all cubs and pups eventually learned this, but she hadn't bothered to learn about if they had genders. They probabley did, but Sahar was going to refer to this spider as a he. It looked like one to her.

Kakalina watched as the tiny spider crawled onto her nose. When it got too fair for her to see without straining her eyes, she sat down and held a paw up to her nose to allow it to crawl on to it so she could see the spider better. "Yeah," she whispered, trying to to startle the already scared spider. "Can I keep him?"

"I'm not sure, he's a big responciblity." She replied calmly. "He needs a place where he can make a web." She said, as far as she knew spiders usually lived on the webs they made. "And he likes to eat other bugs." She remembered when a spider web was in her den once, a fly flew into it and the spider trapped it there. Sahar had been awfully bored that day, and watched as it started to eat the fly. It was sort of gross.
