This is the second, and probably final, vote! We're voting on characters. The question is: Would you like to create a permanent character for all the host clubs, or to change characters every event (like we did for the 10th Annual Ball)?
The first option is one suggested by Robayn: Permanent characters.
Pros of this idea is that we have a permanent character to play, like a real RP. It'll give the practice on playing a character with a set personality for a long period of time. It will also give us some permanent art, depending on what we decide.
The cons are we won't get to experiment with different personalities, especially if you're playing a character in the ball and you want to try out that personality. It will also be less flexible for the themes of the events, making all the host clubs pretty much the same, character-wise.
The second option is the one we used last year: Changing characters.
The pros are we get to experiment with personalities, to see which one we're suited for to play in the ball, or to see which one you like best. You can also spice up the events, depending on what theme it is, rather than it being all the same.
The cons is we have to use a bunch of different costumes (since we usually dress up for the host clubs, even if a fancy costume is completely optional). We also need different art and sets for each event.
And the final option is the standard Other, in case you have an idea that is not put up. You may post that idea.
Thank you for voting! The vote ends the same time the Dates vote ends, on Friday. By then, we will start preparing for the first host club, the Halloween one. That will go on no matter what the Dates result comes to be, but it might change the rest of the year.
If you have any other questions, feel free to contact either me, eran no shi or Epcot Illuminations. Thank you again!

I like the idea of changing characters. Using permanent characters all the time would get stale, why not experiment with different roles, right?
In all honesty we don't have to go all out and buy the uber expensive items for our characters. The shops have plenty of items that are just as good, but also cheaper than say, 200,000g. Or you can use the cheaper items in the marketplace. I know the chess piece items are pretty cheap.

It's not, in any way, mandatory! ^^ However, you can borrow! My invo's going to be open for borrowing as long as my items get returned, and I would assume many others will be as well.
And the shop items are always good places to look! Shop items can get a nice set for less than 20k. If you add a few things from your own invo or other's, then you'll have a nice costume right there! ^^

That's a neat idea, borrowing items, as long as they get returned. This way if any of us want to make our characters look nice, but can't afford what we need to do so, we can just borrow. You my friend are a genius!

It's simple and saves us all much gold and effort! Hehe, thank you! But I can't take complete credit for it. XDD It was an idea we used last ball! It was really great! The same can be used for the actual ball, in out rooms. ^^

Oh come on...
A Host Club would be awesome with a set Host Cast!

I thought that too! It might be cool to explore it, since we've never done that. But I didn't vote, so... XDD
We'll see!

Having the same characters would save not just on art, but also on avatar item costs. Plus, I'm not sure the idea of a "Host Club" is the same if the RP events are different stories with different characters all the time. I mean, playing new characters can be fun, too, but since the RP events really shouldn't run longer than a week then it's not such a great opportunity to have different characters all the time.
Plus I can't get the image out of my head of having a Scooby-Doo type cast that keeps getting invited to all these strange, different parties and they solve mysteries in each one.... especially for the Halloween event xD

Mmhmm. They both are fun, of course, but you're right about that, how the Host Clubs with the same characters (Scooby-Doo type, I like that! XDD) would save a lot. One of my ideas for the pros of the same characters is practice on playing a character with the set personality and backstory. I know myself I like to change a bit in the character's personality over time, to make things fit. Even though you're not supposed to. x.x But I thought maybe, with your idea, we can practice working with a set personality for more than a few days.
But then again, the different characters can make it easy to adapt with the theme of that host clubs. Say, for the summer one you might want a beach girl, while in the Halloween one you wouldn't. Who knows?
So yeah. I just repeated what I said in the first post. XDD

Well... it wouldn't be all that different from someone who throws a party at halloween and then someone who throws a party in the summer. We all dress up differently per season and the characters would too.
However the vote turns out it's fine, I just wanted to put my two cents in.

I would be comfortable with both options - But I guess my next suggestion would be filed under 'other'.
I tend to make one OC who I can change to fit many different roles - The design and personality remain the same but they can be changed in minor ways to fit into any enviornment. Take my OC Jeff - whom my normal avatar is based off of - he actually started out as a Team Fortress 2 rp account... But he's been a wizard, a postman, a delivery guy, and countless amounts of other roles. He's still Jeff, but he's a versatile character. ^ ^-
I think that a permanent character would be lovely, giving us time to flesh them out to our liking and putting them in different scenarios in order to have them down pat by the next ball! Others would probably like a different route - but this is just my opinion. :3
I think that once we get the general theme for the ball nailed down and the lines laid in place I will likely create a permanent OC specifically for the theme of the ball. emotion_yatta

Mmhmm. What I really meant was the personalities.
Although, what you said about the Scooby-Doo crew... That sounds really fun! ^^ Eran and I are discussing how we want the host clubs to run, if we should have a recurring theme or be totally random, like last year. I personally think a recurring theme would be really cool. I may put another poll up! XDD

Probably the best part of that is we get the practice in playing one character with one personality, but we still can fit it into many scenarios. I like it. Depending on how many other votes we get in by Friday, we'll see how this works. Perhaps we can get a quick yay/nay vote in for this idea, since it sounds really fun. ^^
