It might have surprised some creatures, but there actually were etiquette guidelines that indicated how one should behave towards one's fiancé's boilfriend. Or ghoulfriend, for that matter, if that were the case. Generally, socially correct behavior required perfect courtesy and a friendly attitude, whether or not you actually liked the creature in question or approved of the relationship. The circumstances of this particular complicated situation were, well, complicated, but Siddie tentatively liked Calder, and she still felt faintly guilty for having had the problem that precipitated the whole mess.

Between one thing and another, she hadn't actually spoken to the kelpie in quite some time. She hoped he didn't think she was avoiding him. That thought had led to some concern, and ultimately to the decision that she should make sure about that. She had heard that he spent more time in Barth's room than his own, but rather felt that seeking him out there would lead to extra and unnecessary awkwardness. So this afternoon was the third time that Siddie stood in front of Calder's door, holding a plate of fresh spookies and knocking lightly, hoping he was in.

(The other two episodes of baking hadn't gone to waste. Sammy liked Siddie's baking quite a bit anyway.)

Calder hadn't even thought of Siddie in some time. Considering his own worries about never seeing Barth again, or just his own situation with his clan, she was a small concern and one that Barth continued to assure would fix itself after graduation.

After returning back to school, Calder was resting countless hours at Barth's, both tired and depressed. It was why Barth's place, both for it's endless pillows and the comfort from his boilfriend was the best place for him. Still, Calder had minipets and his leeches needed him.

On that afternoon, he was in his room, feeding a few leeches, checking on his eponies, letting them out for a walk, before returning them back and breaking into his bag of sugar cube Fear treats to treat them all for his overall absence the past few days.

As the pony pile chewed and then laid down, he heard the knock and peeled off Fester from his ear and tossed him into the pond in the corner. Walking over, he opened the door, surprised to see Siddie of all people.

Calder looked different from when she last saw him. His hair, tail, and fur were midnight black, and he wore a blue tunic top with brown trousers. There were also bandages about his legs and right arm, including a bit of bruising around his neck. Luckily the bruise about his eye was gone now. "OH....hello Siddie." He never talked to the girl before and was clearly confused why she was here. "Um...Barth is in his room." That was why she was here, right?

"Hi Calder," Siddie smiled. "I'm not looking for Barth. I just wanted to see how you were doing." She paused just a moment, her head tilting slightly to the side. "You seemed awfully tired last time I saw you around campus, so I thought I would maybe bring you some spookies and see if you were okay." She held the plate up, a little shyly.

"Oh." He said, surprised before looking at the spookies. He didn't know what to say, and it felt a bit awkward. Still, he was welcoming at the least, and opened his door wider for her. "Come in." He said, gesturing as he let her in and shut the door behind her.

Walking over, he looked about. He owned no table or chairs, and instead took a basket full of dried leaves and flowers off a chest and then picked off a leech to toss aside before offering the makeshift chair. "Sorry. I broke the chairs I had." When he was angry and destroyed the place.

Reaching over, he dragged a small chest over, wincing a bit at the strain to his arm, before sitting on it as well.

Calder's room was divided, one half of the floor warped wood before it was eaten away by moss. The other side of the room dipped down into a pond were leeches moved in and out, resting on the bank and staring at the newcomer, debating if she was munchable.

A celtic Epony rose it's head and trotted over, nuzzling as it looked up at the plate of spookies. "Henf. Leave her be." Calder scolded, the epony ignoring him.

"Oh, as you were saying. I'm fine. Just...tired. Been resting at Barth's." He wondered if that was offensive to her, considering he was her fiance. "Sorry."

Siddie came in, glancing around curiously. "You have a nice room," she said, seating herself on the chest he offered. "It's very eerie. Oh dear, please don't strain yourself," she added, seeing the wince. He certainly did look different, but she wasn't sure if she should comment. She didn't know him at all, she realized, and was surprised to find that that made her a little sad.

She held out her free hand to the epony, letting it sniff her palm before stroking its nose. "Oh, how pretty. I bet you're terribly spoiled," she said to the mini, smiling a little. "May I give him a spookie?" she asked Calder. Her shadow drutten poked its head up out of her hood and chirped a comment.

The apology surprised her. "Sorry? Why?"
PostPosted: Sun Sep 02, 2012 2:30 pm

"Oh, sure. But do it quick before the other eponies wake up. Then you're going to get swarmed." Luckily the epony snuggle pile was napping near the pond, the leeches knowing better than to touch them as per Calder's direct instructions else they wouldn't get treats. Instead, they sucked on a floating, decapitated arm Calder had found laying around outside near the river that was still rather fresh (Calder made sure to pop it in the microwave a bit before giving it to them since they liked warm meals).

Henf continued to nuzzle, nibbling against her leg to try and get her to give him anything.

"Oh, sorry that....well, that I'm spending so much time with Barth at his place." He didn't know if that was offensive to her, or she preferred he didn't, but he felt he should apologize to be on the safe side. "I don't know. Thought it might bother you. Sorry...about the sorry." He didn't know what he was doing now, but he just felt like apologizing over and over.

Siddie held out a cookie to Henf, giggling a little as the epony nibbled her leggings. "Here. This tastes better than clothes," she said.

Clove climbed out of her hood and made its way down her arm, then hopped down to the trunk she sat on and from there to the floor, trotting curiously over to investigate the leeches.

"O-oh!" Siddie's shoulders drooped slightly. "No, I'm sorry," she said in response. "It doesn't bother me at all. I'm not - it's really only for my parents' benefit, the arrangement," she said, trying to reassure him. "I'm not - Barth's my friend. Sammy is who I love. I swear by my grandmother's pumpkin," she said, holding her chin high and trying to look more confident than she felt. She should definitely have come to talk to Calder before now if he really thought she might be bothered that he was spending time with his boilfriend, just because of an engagement that had been arranged for social appearances.

Henf started to nibble the cookie before taking it with it's tongue and eating it, moving it's lower jaw in big circles and delighting in the taste of sugar. Henf was getting spoiled, but no more than usual. Calder really needed to take them on more walks. Maybe he could bring to Barth's room?

The leeches by the pond turned to look at the heat signature moving there way. Fester, the largest of them all, was moving his way out of the pond and started to move over, one end over the other before sluggishly stopping and looking up. It opened it's round mouth wide in what could probably be considered a smile.

"Oh...I just thought you might be worried someone would find out I hanged with Barth a lot and then tell your parents and ruin everything for you." He told her, twisting some hair around his finger before looking up, smiling. "I do like staying with him though. His bed is bigger than mine." The bed in question was a porcelain tub that rested behind him, cracks dripping water and filled nearly to the bring in swamp water. A few plants had started to grow in it in Calder's absence. "I guess Sammy sleeps over at your place?" Seeing as Sammy was a undead, it probably meant Siddie had a much bigger bed.

Siddie stroked Henf's velvety nose, giggling softly at the epony's blissful expression. Eponies might not be one of her personally favored types, but she liked all minis.

Clove sat down, round white eyes studying Fester with some suspicion. It chirped again.

Siddie shook her head and smiled humorlessly. "I've already addressed the issue of Sammy with Mama. I reminded her politely that I'm not ignorant of her occasional trips with close personal friends. She took my point; I don't believe it will be a problem." Then her smile grew more genuine in response to Calder's. "I stay over at hers sometimes," she confessed. "When we were both new first-years, Sammy had a dispute with a demon who tried to cheat on a class project they were assigned to together. The punishment involved a temporary room switch, but then he was expelled, and nobody told Sammy she had to move out, so she kept the nice comfortable room in the demon dorms." Siddie giggled. "It's really a very nice room. I keep my own because I can make it nice and dark. Sometimes I just don't like too much light."

She liked some privacy from time to time, as well; Sammy had a key to Siddie's room, but the zombie ghoul seemed to understand intuitively that Siddie sometimes needed her own space. Siddie wasn't going to explain that just yet, though. It was a more personal matter between her and her ghoulfriend, and she didn't feel quite well enough acquainted with Calder yet to offer details of the relationship that were less obvious.

Prolixity

He smiled at Siddie, resisting the urge to 'aww' at the confession that they slept together. "Demons do have nice rooms. There are so many things in them that I've never seen, and they are very large. Even though Barth's room has all the luxuries, it's also very cluttered with gears and junk." However, the mesh of parts, blueprint scrolls, and comfortable chairs and cushions gave it a air that Calder first grew familiar with and now found comforting. A mix of scents from couch cushions and embroidered curtains to oil and metal. "Oh, not that that is bad." He didn't want to insult Siddie who probably also had a nice home. "I sometimes come to my room anyways when I need a break and a refresher." While Barth's room was plush, sometimes it was too comfortable, and Calder missed the smell of water, dirt, and the soft texture of thick moss.

Fester was moving closer now, trying to get over to Clove and latch on. Calder didn't notice.

"I can see why Sammy likes you. You are very pretty." Her clothes were detailed and adorn in frills and lace, accenting her figure nicely, and Calder often wondered if Barth appreciated such curves more than his. "I bet Sammy has to beat people in the face to keep the boils off you." It was probably why both parents accepted the idea of Barth and Siddie together without being surprised. They were both well taken care for and finely dressed. Calder's clothes recently had been due to trading with a seamstress and a few gifts from Barth who also liked fine things and liked to spoil Calder (as long as Barth didn't actually have to lift a finger to order it).

"I don't think I've seen Barth's room. I tidy Sammy's up sometimes," Siddie admitted. "She's not always as careful about things, you know?" She giggled a little. "But I don't mind. If it bugs me, I can just take care of it, right?"

"Thank you." Her cheeks flushed slightly, lightening to a deep purple with her blush. "If she does, she hasn't said," she said, and crossed her ankles. "I don't think any boils are looking at me ... I mean, not really. I'm not encouraging it." Siddie flirted a little with most people, but it was light and automatic; she barely realized she was doing it, and she wasn't serious about it. Surely that was obvious.

Clove backed up a few steps and chirped uncertainly. Was this mini friendly?
