 An obnoxiously decorated booth has been mysteriously erected
for the second night of Fright Night. Multicolored spotlights reflect off a banner
declaring the name of the booth and also the name of a contest that has
been the buzz of teen mags across Halloween - Meet the Joanies.
Joan of Arc - a name that had been nearly forgotten until a few months ago. A name that carried, a name that had, over it's many incarnations, defined many musical genres. A name that promised screaming fans and adoring adulation. It had been 15 years since their final tour. Some speculated their parent company, Arc Productions, had finally gone bankrupt. Until now.
You've probably heard about it - it's been touted on skelevision, and has been a cover feature on Ghouls Now, Scream Beat, and Vanity Scare. Ghouls everywhere are talking about it - in fangirlish screams, coffee conversations or hushed whispers. Who will be the next Joanie for Joan of Arc? Auditions started a few months ago; although it seems as if it's only been days. Applications were sent in all over Halloween, hopeful ghouls vying for the spotlight. Some wanted fame, others fortune; and a few even applied with hopes to attain the full scholarship to Amityville Academy promised by the adverts.
All of this, accumulating to the cotton-candy colored booth gracing Amityville's grounds. This was it - the site for the final auditions. Who would be the next headliner for the infamous band's celebrated revisioning? A large makeup tent sits behind the booth, ready to doll up potential idols before letting them back into the Fright Night festivities where they can moonlight as the idol they vie for. Contract reps from Arc Productions are on standby, looking to wheel and deal with their next young demoness superstar, and they only have one question.

OOC INFO  ^premade female demon student^This is a contest very similar to the School of Rock contest, where applicants are applying to win a PREMADE DEMON student. Much like School of Rock, this student will be a canon celebrity! In fact, it will pretty much function almost exactly like the aforementioned contest, except you will be able to RP your 'Joanie' contestant during final night (second week) of Fright Night! This booth will function as a 'check in' station for your contest character, and they will go through a "make up" session so that they all are outfitted to look like the premade's art! You may also RP your contestant here with other students, but please note that you are limited to this thread! (AKA, your contestant MAY NOT leave this booth ICly). IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, FEEL FREE TO PM ME (RAVVLET) !RULES - This contest is FREE. biggrin
-This contest is open to everyone!
-One entry per person.
-One post per entry.
-Please don't post your entry until you feel it is complete!
-Entries will be judged following the closing of the contest by TiH staff, so please be patient smile
-No further stages for this character will be guaranteed, further art is earned through RP and participation as with any other student.
-If you DON'T win, you can still keep your quest! Just keep in mind that they no longer have to resemble the premade smile
- This contest ends Saturday, September 22nd.
-You MAY RP your contestant after posting their entry, but you MAY NOT RP THEM OUTSIDE OF THIS BOOTH/THREAD.

HOW TO ENTER ENTRY 1. Fill out a Student Application Form for this character, and post it in the Halloween Subspace Forum. If you've never made a TiH quest before, you can follow the links here to learn more! 2. Make a Promo Poster for their first concert. It can be a photoshopped image, text, or whatever! You may use the premade student's art in your poster. 3. Write the lyrics to your character's first hit single. This may be a completely original song, or an edit of a currently existing song to make it fit within the world of Halloween. The above material will be canon to your character if she is chosen, so please keep that in mind!Finally, post your entry with the following form:

KARAOKE STUDIO Next to the makeup tent, is a strange looking rectangular booth. The sides read "Recording Studio" - must be some kind of karaoke game. An envelope on the outside of the machine seems to be prepared to burn CDs of whatever you happen to create. KARAOKE GAME RULES To play, RP your character entering the booth! With your post, roll a d100. The roll determines how well you did! Participants will be rolled for minipet & art prizes, and are also eligible to win tokens! I WANNA KARAOKE!
He felt bad as he was most likely blowing out somebodies ear drum with his voice. Why couldn't they have drums? He was talented at that but...his voice was ghastly. He put the mic down quick as he could before people started to burn it down. The booth looked so nice after all- and it wasn't like he didn't have a habit burning booths down up to now.

I WANNA KARAOKE!
Syd caught sight of the booth--the warm looking booth--and the little golem headed for it like it was a lifesaver. First the bucket of water at the dagger throwing booth, then the snow covering at the snowy booth--
He was freezing. The karaoke booth looked like it would be nice and warm. In fact, he was so focused on that fact that he didn't realize it was a booth until he stepped in--and saw the screen and microphone.
"Oh," he said. He would have done better if his teeth weren't chattering, he told himself.

Despite the boil's less than stellar performance, the booth seemed to vibrate in time with the music. It continued to hum, a quiet shaking buzz until finally it spat out a CD.  As the next boil took their turn, the booth seemed to shake even harder. It was with little fanfare that it ejected a second cd.  Both disc jackets contained a small guitar pick...

Roch caught sight of the karaoke booth--ok, no, Roch caught sight of a booth for would be famous musicians, and almost walked past it--THEN he saw the karaoke booth. Hesitating and glancing at the females, he slipped into the booth and closed the door behind him.
Then he started flipping through the selection as he grabbed his mic. With a grin he picked out one of the cheesiest, silliest songs he knew by heart, and started belting it out.
"Well my baby an' me went out this saturday night--"
