Nafsi-kataa was done wandering. Was done following whispers and rumors. She'd followed whispers and rumors to a pride that called themselves the Stormborn. The thought of the name made her smirk. 'Stormborn', hm? How would they deal with having some fire in their midst? She remembered something about having to prove herself, prove that she could fight. She could certainly do that. Once the former General found herself near the borders in the right area...she roared. A loud roar of challenge, one that stated her intentions.

She wished to prove herself, to prove the fire inside her was more than enough to weather the Stormborn.

User ImageOrdinarily Solvslips did not put himself on patrol duty. Fighting challenges was not something he enjoyed. Taking part in challenges forced him to enter situations where he might not be in control, and he hated when he wasn't in control. The only reason he had done so in this instance was because he had lost a bet to one of his brothers and this had been the forfeit. Slips didn't usually lose bets, either, since he rarely bet on things where he didn't control the outcome.

He glanced at the sun once more, trying to determine how much longer his shift would last. Not too long now. Probably one more circuit of his assigned area and his relief would show up to take his place. For the first time since he requested inclusion on a patrol roster, Slips actually felt something approaching pleasure. He was almost done with this monotonous, odious forfeit.

And then he heard the roar. Dammit.

He roared back, more of an acknowledgement than anything else. Having done so, he set off in the direction the first roar had come from, hoping that his answering roar would have scared the other lion off and he wouldn't have to actually fight. But it seemed that would be too much to hope for, as he learned when he finally came across the source of the roar and saw that she was female.

Well. Maybe this wouldn't be so bad.

"Don't waste my time," he told her, testing to see if she could be bullied away without becoming physical.

Nafsi raised a brow at the male who showed his face after the answering roar. Really? "Oh trust me, I'm not wasting time." With a growl, she launched herself forward, initiating things herself. If he thought she'd come all the way here to waste someone's time, she was going to prove him very, very wrong. Hopefully he'd at least make this a worthwhile challenge. She wouldn't feel right if he turned out to be weak.

"If you lose, you should know that I will spank you for every minute of my time you've wasted," he warned her. With an absolutely wicked grin he added, "Of course, you might like that."

Unfortunately, his cockiness cost him the initiative and she struck him square on, forcing him backward for several steps to regain his balance. He was not used to being attacked anymore. His subs never fought back (they wouldn't have been very good subs if they did) and he and his brothers didn't fight physically.

A snarl curled his lips back from his teeth and he snapped the latter at her, aiming for the point where her neck joined her shoulders. It hurt but would not be lethal unless she did something incredibly stupid. Yes, he was still fighting as if taking on a less-than-worthy opponent. It was a side effect of being a pompous a** by nature.

Spank her? REALLY? She couldn't help but let a laugh go, ducking down and dodging forward so she would come around to push against his side in an attempt to knock him over. She wasn't going to fall for that paltry tactic of his. She hadn't been a cub for a very, very long time. "Like it? Cub, you wouldn't know what to DO with me!"

Slips wasn't impressed by the lioness's boldness or her attempt to shove him off balance. She didn't weigh nearly enough for that to be successful, even if her shoulders seemed to strike him in just such a way that her bones would probably bruise him beneath his dark coat. He snarled.

"I know exactly what I would do with you," he said truthfully, sending a fairly smouldering look her way. "First, I would bind your forelegs with your paws tucked under to keep you from escape."

He had decided to see if he could shock her into doing something careless which would allow him to make his move. In this case, his move would probably be something very fast but without much technique or even strength behind it. He'd never been much better than a brawler when it came right down to it.

"Then I would push your chin to the ground and hold you there until you stopped struggling."

Really? What on earth was this cub going on about? She hadn't knocked him over, but she knew he'd feel where she'd hit later. "You've got a rather vivid imagination there, cub." She used the time he spent talking to dart away, observing and planning her next move. Larger than her...but that never stopped her. Seemed rather full of himself, though. Perhaps she could use that against him. Really though, what on earth was he going on about? Did he have a thing for slavery? If so...yeah no. She wasn't a lioness to be bound. Ever. "I'm afraid you can't bind fire. You'll get burnt in the attempt."

A vivid imagination? She had absolutely no idea. In truth, this challenger wasn't quite his type. She was mostly dark, which was his preference, but some of those brightly colored markings on her pelt were off-putting. Slips had very high standards.

"You flatter yourself. Really, you're not my type at all," he told her when she started getting uppity. As he told her this, he stood perfectly still and poised, his dark eyes staring at her haughtily as if she was utterly below contempt.

Nafsi just gave him a flat look. Really? He'd been the one talking about 'the things he'd do to her'. She sighed and rolled her eyes. "Of course. How wrong of me to assume different from your words. After all, I'm just a lowly female." There was a distinct undertone of sarcasm to her words. "We're here to fight, cub. So get off your a** and fight!" And she darted forward, making as if she would feint to her left, and actually strike right...

She actually kept going left, claws out and seeking the joint where his right front leg met his body. Joints were always a good weak spot to go for...

Slips blinked in surprise. "Your inferiority has nothing to do with you being female. You're simply not my type - ******** expletive came from her claws finding the exact spot she'd aimed for and then tearing a little. He had been something of a brawler in his youth, but at this point in his life Slips rarely fought and was not accustomed to being on the receiving end of pain. He had stopped doing that as soon as he learned how much more pleasant it was to inflict it.

"As much fun as it might be to break you," he hissed, "I have better things to do. Let us say that this fight was to go to first blood and that you have won. It is the easiest battle you will ever fight in this pride. Welcome to the Stormborn."

Obviously Solvslips didn't really care one way or the other about whether there was chaff in with the wheat. He was truly content to call this a loss and shrug it off. He was a reaver in name and he did go out and plunder, but he didn't fight anymore. He left that to those too brawny to use their brains.

"Let's take you to a lawspeaker and get your name added to the pride's history."

This was over? Really? She removed her claws from where they'd found purchase, stepping away a bit. "Alright than." She was tempted to call him lazy, but...well, she wasn't going to have him ruin her chances to get in for the moment. She could find herself a better fight elsewhere in the pride. Maybe someone that wasn't so much of a...strange cub.
