Biroki carried his bath supplies, somewhat despondently, away from his bath in the lake. Again, he had stood out there, washing, and again, he had not seen her. He didn't know why he kept trying. It felt crazy to do the same thing over and over and wait until dawn and until his skin protested at tall the cleaning.
But he did so anyway.
He stopped a moment and watched the dawn stain the leaves of the trees gold and speckle the ground with copper.
It was beautiful.
As were the bugs.
He sat on a big rock, not too far from the lake, to watch the sunrise and the dancing of the colorful bugs of Jahuar.
He loved his home.
