Things seemed to be calming down for the Super Senshi of Tumbleweeds. At least partially. She'd confronted Ate about what had happened to Grant, and they were working on things between them. Grant himself was healing up nicely, and on top of seemed to be doing much better on his own. Or had gotten much better at running away.. Either way, he wasn't falling through her mirror covered in blood and bruises anymore, and that was certainly a plus. If she ignored the whole complicated business with Chaonis, then things were going very smoothly for her as of late. She'd even returned to her usual routine.

This consisted of seeking out whatever lowlife scum she could find, incapacitating them, and letting her mirror wraiths run a muck with their energy. Once that was finished, she did her patrolling, keeping her 'eye' out for any would be senshi she could talk into joining the dark court, or any knights that needed eradicating. The latter being the more fun of the two.

The dark shards tucked away in the cuff of her boot were both full, having gorged themselves on the energy of a couple of muggers, and the DMC was currently perched on the edge of a building down town, senses open to anything that might wander too close.

It was only a matter of time before she picked up on something. Destiny City might have been big, but there was a magical war going on, and countless numbers on either side called the metropolis home. Navi grinned, leaning forward where she sat, and waited for the power source to draw nearer. She had been getting bored.

Patrolling was something that the new-ish Page was going to take a while to get the hang of. Or even remotely enjoy, or even try not to ditch. Or even try to take seriously. For the most part, Kailash treated them as very long walks at night, casual strolls without having to worry about other people since most still abide to the enforced curfew. There were the occasional, but they were so few that it wasn't a bother.

And once he figured out that trick for his cigarettes, well things had gotten better.

With a slow drag of his dwindling cigarette, the young Page walked past yet another alleyway in one of the many neighborhoods downtown while not paying that much attention. He mostly kept his ears and senses open to trouble, to find a way to sneak right past it or turn the other way to blatantly avoid it all. It wasn't all that strong as a sense, but it allowed him to for the most part just zone out and walk at his leisurely pace.

As Kailash neared yet another gap, filled with darkness, trash and bins, his golden eyes caught sight of a few limp bodies sprawled about. Now, homeless people weren't uncommon in the city of Destiny, though the numbers had probably gone down in recent years due to the trouble that plagued the streets at night - having moved elsewhere where they weren't easy prey, or he would have imagined. But the way these bodies were on the ground, it seemed a little unusual.

This seemed like part of the job. To make sure these guys were okay. Great. With an annoyed sigh, the green haired boy trudged over to one of them and nudged him with the side of his boot to see if he was simply just asleep. Gaining no response, the Page sighed again and leaned over with an extended arm to check for a pulse. The guy was really pale, like really pale, he noticed when he got as close as he got. And alive at least, for what it seemed. <********..." Kailash sighed again, straightening himself up to look around. There had to be a payphone somewhere, so he could get these guys some help or something - he wasn't stupid enough to use his own phone, not with how pissed Iris had gotten at him about identity stuff. He stepped back onto the street, dropping the filter to his cigarette to put it out as he looked up and down to locate something useful.

As it was, an uneasy feeling began to spread as he took a few more steps on the sidewalk, making the hairs on the back of his neck stand up a little on edge. He wasn't liking this now... not one bit.

She hadn't had to wait very long before someone tasting of Order wandered close enough for her to sense them. Of course if she could feel them, it was a good bet they could feel her. She waited, pale eyes scanning the darkness in the direction she'd come from moments before. Whoever it was was lingering near where she'd gathered her energy quota for the night, but for the moment they didn't seem to be looking for her.

Impatiently the Senshi of Tumbleweeds dropped from her perch and traced her steps. If they weren't going ot actively seek her out, she was at least going to find out who it was. This aura didn't feel familiar, not specifically, though it did hold an edge to something that never failed to make her lip curl. Knight.

When she found the young man he was standing beside the unconscious figures she'd left looking nervously around him. For a few short minutes she watched him from the shadows, head titled gently to one side as she noted his behavior. He did behave like she'd have expected a Knight to, and she wondered how new he was at this game.

Of course, did she really care?

Navi wasn't very fond of knights, among the many soldiers of the white moon, they were useless to dark queen and their court. On top of that, Navi held a very personal vendetta against one in particular. This wasn't him, but that didn't really matter.

"You look nervous," she called out to him, finally stepping away from the over hanging shadows she'd been standing in. "Something wrong?"

The uneasy feeling didn't seem to be going away, and it was beginning to become a nuisance. This whole 'spidey sense' was nothing but trouble when he didn't know from which direction it was coming from, at least from a basic observational standpoint - and he was much too lazy to make more of an effort when it was probably something he could skirt around.

So, Kailash kept his eyes open for that payphone which was his main priority - and maybe a means of escape - when the red head called out to him, spooking him and honestly making him jump a little where he stood, "ho's**t!" He wheezed, turning on the spot to face the intruder.

A girl. A teenage girl in a black outfit giving off a very bad feeling. The Page had never really been formally introduced to one of these types, but from the fiasco of that meeting he had a pretty clear picture of what she was - not to mention that little ping in the back of his mind that was telling him 'danger Kailash, danger!' complete with flailing robot. His hands up went defensively immediately.

"I wouldn't say as much nervous... as much .. annoyed," he explained, though his voice betrayed him quiet a bit. "Not every night you run into bodies on the ground and you have to figure out how to get someone to help them." Did he just take a step back? Yeah, he just took a step back.

Pale pink lips tugged up into a pleased little smirk at the croaked profanity the page uttered as he jumped in alarm. It only grew at his denial, and she chuckled softly, lifting a hand to press a folded finger to her lips. "You wouldn't, but I would." Maybe he was annoyed, deep down, but his voice betrayed his nerves.

Her head tipped gently to one side as considered his explanation for his foul mood, and she had to pause to give the young man in front of her a more thoughtful look. "Have you really not run into any unconscious bodies in your wanderings thus far as a soldier of Order? I find that a little hard to believe," she mused, tapping her cheek with a finger tip. "Unless you're more new to this game then I had guessed." Not that she'd really had much of an idea, or cared to form one. He was a knight, that was all that mattered where Navi was concerned.

Of course certain recent events did prevent her from immediately lashing out at the page. Something a certain Senshi of Danger had accused her of had struck her a little too close to home, and she hated living up to the horrible opinion Chaonis had had of her before they'd.. made up. Still, Knights were as good as useless to the Dark Mirror Court.

"You're a Knight, why don't you help them? Isn't that your job?" The feigned friendliness was leaking from her voice, mood souring as her desire to attack fought with her affection for Chaonis and the opinion he had of her.

Hazel eyes flicked down to his feet as he retreated a step, and she let her hands fall to her sides. She might not have jumped him upon first meeting, but she wasn't likely to simply let him walk away either. Her hate for the knights was too strong a thing to just let them go.

It was a little annoying how correct she was, on pretty much every point she was making. It was like in so many video games when it was painfully obvious when you could spot the newb, and Kailash could almost feel neon signs pointing directly at him.

Not a lot of this was really that new to him, but when coming into these types of situations it always felt awkward. They weren't common and given his usual distaste of human interaction. Well. "I tend to avoid the unconscious bodies, trouble tends to follow." He explained, trying to steady his voice, "case and point." The Page held up a hand towards the Dark Senshi.

There was a subtle hint of something else in her voice that Kailash picked up on at her stab at his apparent job, he wasn't sure what it was or where it was aimed but he wasn't too sure about it. "It would make sense for it to be my job, never did get a full explanation on it." He allowed himself a shrug and a confused look towards her even with his unease. Though, maybe playing the fool could get him off. "The last time," which was still a little fuzzy really... given he was a victim in it all, "the guy had a bag of orbs and... clearly you don't." Female senshi didn't seem to have a lot ... of clothing. Weird.

Okay, explaining himself did seem a little stupid. But at least he wasn't going to tell the girl his back up plan of payphone and police. If movies taught him everything, don't give away the plans. Running did seem like a nice one though, like always. So tempting.

Navi seemed to find being referred to as 'trouble' very amusing. She couldn't really argue with his logic though. She hadn't planned on returning to the men she'd drained, but once she'd felt the page's presence it had really become a no brainer.

As the seconds ticked on and the young man continued talking Navi's patient was very obviously slipping away. What had begun as a smile was quickly turning into more of a baring of teeth as he all but proved her assumptions, both old and new. He was clearly new, but along with that he seemed to carry a certain reluctance for his role that came off as uncaring. In a senshi of the White Moon Court that could be exploited, but in a knight it was really just infuriating.

In this situation playing a fool was a quick way to piss off a super senshi of the Dark Mirror Court. Everyone from the side of Order was so quick to label Navi and teammates as evil, but here stood a page that wanted nothing more then to avoid trouble and let civilian's fend for themselves.

"You're a little useless, aren't you?" She questioned, narrow heels smacking against the pavement as she began to move forward. "Leaving these men helpless just to avoid a little trouble. Nevermind that they had been despicable excuses for humans." A small snort followed her words, growing irritation apparent.

She'd been good, as far as she was concerned. She hadn't attacked him upon first meeting no matter how much she'd wanted to(and boy did she want to..). That had to count for something.

"What's your name?" She didn't strictly care, but since she was seriously considering hurting him, the least she could do was know what to call him.

Her smile was fading, it was fading quickly along with her calm demeanor and turning into the look an angry dog would before it went into the attack. Kailash was not liking this, well really who in their right mind would?

Was this really being directed at him? Was she really getting pissed off at him for his lack of experience at this new found addition to the job he now had? The one she was probably supposed to stop? How in the hell did that make any sense?!

Because, yes, clearly she was. Yelling at him and insulting him. The Page help up his hands a little higher, a little stiffer to affirm how nonthreatening he was. "That's a little harsh," really? He just made that comment to someone on the side of Chaos? Oh, how he was mentally berating himself - well more, this whole exchange just seemed to be going south.

At least she hadn't just promptly beat the s**t out him. The girl seemed damned ready to. "Just never ran into this sort of situation, would have figured it out." Maybe he should have told her about the payphone plan.

But he still didn't. Her irate steps forward caused him to take careful steps back, his eyes briefly glancing briefly around her to see if there anything he could use to delay her or perhaps use as a weapon. They were still in the open street so he could at least hightail it and run.

"Kailash... though, not sure it matters..." He told her, taking another step backwards. This time quickly with a pivot to turn his body around completely. It was a stupid thing to turn one's back on the enemy, but when running away - which he was totally doing now - going the opposite way of where one's opponent was standing seemed the best option.

His defensive rebuttal was met with a sudden snort of amusement followed by a short burst of laughter. "Is it? Seems accurate to me." A quick flick of hazel eyes took in the pair of low life's still laying on the side walk, then up once again to focus on the page. "You're supposed to be one of the good guys, and you'd much rather avoid a touch situation." Was he a coward, or just lazy? Hard to be sure without asking, and either way Navi wasn't going to like the answer.

As he began to back up quickly she came to a stop, pretty little head typing to the side as she watched him. A he turned on a heel to take off in the opposite direction her own question had been answered. "A cowered, then."

She let him get a good few long strides away before her hand rose before her, palms out and facing him. A breeze rose up in the street, quickly escalating into a wh ipping wind before the current condensed and swirled into a razor lashed ball at her hand. "Whiplash Blast!" One heeled foot side back to brave herself, and the ball of slicing wind erupted from her hands, ticketing down the street straight at his retreating back.

Navi didn't like knights. She liked coward even less. This Kailash was little more then an irritating nuisance as far as she was concerned. She hadn't seen much of his attitude yet, but the little taste she'd gotten was enough to convince her the White Moon wouldn't miss him.

Telling this girl about his plan wasn't probably going to make much of a difference, Kailash was realizing. She was probably going to berate him anyways, keep telling him how useless and cowardly he was and so on. Yeah, perhaps he shouldn't have spoken at all, given how much trouble this was getting him into; it wasn't his fault that he didn't know the protocol for drained bodies on the ground!

So, he was hoping running was going to help even though it didn't the last time - could the Dark Senshi teleport just like that guy? Oh, he hoped not. Kailash figured she probably had heightened abilities just like he did, but probably also had the advantage of being in better shape.

And magic.

Totally would have magic. Even with the sound of the wind whistling through his ears, he could hear her shout something. The words were hard to make out from the distance he had managed to put between them but that didn't matter when the basketball shaped attack hit him squarely in the back, knocking him forward and to the asphalt ********.." he wheezed, pressing his hands flat against the ground. He needed to get up, but the ground felt nice even with his cheek having basically been smashed into the street.

The spell had left Navi's hands, and the senshi wasted no time in closing the gap between them Kailash had created. Even before the razor wind struck him she was bearing down on him. So by the time he kissed the pavement she was there, the heel of one orange boot digging into the small of his back as she bent over him. "I'm not sure if you'd been able to notice." Her he'll ground s little deeper against his spine. "But I don't particularly care for your faction."

All things considered she'd behaved herself quite well. Taking first, before simply attacking, as she would have much rather have done.

"When you're not self righteous, or martyrs, your all just completely useless." A thin thread of dark humor had crept into her voice as she spoke, and she removed her foot from his back, only to drive the you're of her not into his side with a swift kick. "And not just because you don't have a damn clue about what you should be doing," she amended thoughtfully, stepping back and watching him. "But because there's no place for you in the kingdom of the Dark Mirror." They couldn't be led away, they had no star seed to convert.

"You can't be saved, and you do nothing but hinder our progress, so you are of no use to us." Ok, she has fallen into a boot off a tangent, but she had a fair bit of personal baggage fueling her anti-knight vendetta. Some founded, some not as much. Either way, the page at her feet had the unfortunate poor luck to find himself at her mercy.

"Are you going to fight back? Or are you weak as well?"

The heel in his spine and the kicking didn't leave Kailash in much of a position to look any less pathetic on the ground. He had found himself curling into the fetal position, not in a sense of urgency to protect some vital organ - because that would be useless in these situations - but more of an ingrained defense mechanism.

But it kind of hurt to be in it and he tried to roll onto his back, only to find that was so much worse. Urg, he wanted to stay down so bad but it probably was such a bad idea. Not with her monologue-ing and her now obvious vendetta against his kind - that was a weird thought, his kind. "I'm picking up the hints," he coughed, pressing his shaky hands on the ground to push himself up.

Not being sure how much time she was actually going to give him, once he got to his knees he was already scooting himself away from her. Urg, there was a metallic taste in his mouth. Did he bite his tongue? URG. That sucked, he thought when he finally got to his feet.

"Saved?" What nonsense was this all about? (All this was seeming way too preachy now). The Page bit back further questions that could easily have spilled from his mouth. (Progress? Use? Kingdom? The?) No wasn't the time for that damn curiosity to come out, this was trouble. But really? She was saying they were self righteous when she was spewing that crap? "Must be frustrating, I'm sure... and only finding the best solution is to.. I guess kick the s**t out of 'my kind' but I'm really not that into fighting either..."

This was not going to end well.

It would have horrified the teen to learn her own ranting was coming off as self-righteous and arrogant as she found a good number of Knights, but people seldom realized their own flaws to such extent.

She stared down at him as he scuttled back away from her, hazel eyes narrowed in extreme dislike. Specially when he started talking in what was probably supposed to be a reasonable tone, but only managed antagonistic. "This is a war," she reminded him, arms crossing.

Although he'd annoyed her further, he'd also managed to get through to a little part of the Dark Mirror Senshi that insisted she wasn't the monster the White Moon all assumed she was. Her aura was chaotic, but she wasn't evil. Angry and vindictive, maybe, but that wasn't the same.

Beating the ever loving snot out of this page might have been satisfying, but he wasn't fighting back. Winning wasn't an issue, if she wanted to win, she could have, that was very obvious. But to win like this, against someone that didn't seem to know how to fight back, and had no inclination to even try, just put a bad taste in Navi's mouth.

He got one point right, it was a very frustrating situation. If he'd fought back, if he posed even a tiny little threat to her or her court... But he didn't! Now she didn't know what the hell to do.

Which meant it was time to leave. "It's not worth it." Hurting him, picking off one more useless page. None of it. She wasn't happy about walking away though, and that was clear in her tone. Nothing about this situation sat well with the Senshi of Tumbleweeds.

She stepped away, turning to go back the way she'd come. "If you're not willing or able to fight, I suggest you stay the hell away from this battle." He was going to get himself killed. Hell, if she ran into him again she wasn't going walk away.

Though, it seemed like this was going to be ending better than he could have imagined, Kailash wasn't sure how much he could press his own luck. For once, his role as a coward and general disregard could possibly save his life.

Even with the halt in her assault, he took a cautious step back and winced from the pressure that shot into his back. It hurt to straighten it, from what she had done and it could only leave him standing with the worst posture ever. At least the awful taste in his mouth was beginning to wash away, he could live with the back pain for a while - only meant he got to spend some more time on his couch.

"More to wars than just fighting," he found himself saying with a sigh. Not like he was taking a hippie liberal bullshit stance on the matter, thinking flowers and guitars could win anything but that wasn't where his mind was really going. Probably more GI Joe.

But, he was now really just going to gather that she wouldn't even care to hear it given how pointless she was finding this encounter. Her tone and stance said it all - well more of her tone. But Kailash wasn't really wanting to give in and make her happy and give her the fight she wanted. It just wasn't in him.

"I would," he replied as he watched her step back, "if any of you'd let me... but there's always that annoying pull." He wasn't sure what it was, if it was a calling or fate or just Sailor Iris yelling at him. But he damn well hoped it wouldn't bring him back to anyone like her.

- man, did this finally put him in the clear of calling for help now? Urg, he was so tired.

She'd like to advise him to ignore that annoying pull, but she knew damn well it wasn't that easy. What ever it was that allowed them all to become more then mere humans, it called to them. Navi had never tried to ignore it, she'd never wanted to, but she didn't think it would be easy.

Then again, she also had a fair grasp on combat, and enough power and strength to hold her own against most the opponents she would come up against. If she had no skill in offense, or even self defense, she might consider actively avoiding any and all other power signifies, or even not powering up at all. Hard to say really, it wasn't a situation Navi could imagine herself in.

For a moment longer she watched him, then with a frown she turned away, her voice floating back at him as she made her way towards the shadows, heels clicking in her wake. "Go home Page Kailash, before you get yourself killed." Stranger words had never before been spoken by the Dmc. Months before she'd have jumped at the chance to rid the world of one more useless knight, but now? It was getting harder to hold onto the old hate she had carried for them as a whole. Individual listing remained, but that was all.

Kailash was no threat to them, not as he was, probably not ever, unless he gathered up the will to train and actually fight.

"I would the avoid the Dark Mirror court if I were you, we aren't much found of what we cannot use." And with that little cryptic Meade she was gone, disappearing back into the dark from wince she came.
