Eternal Sailor Chaonis was sitting on the side of a building, one he had been watching for a little while and debating breaking into if he ever got bored. Someone else had robbed it, he read on the news, the night before.

That bummed him out, as it meant the place was an easy and obvious target. He wasn't a criminal: he was just out to have fun. This place, clearly, was just a place that drew criminal trash to it.

His mental tap dancing to justify his bad behavior was mostly his own. He didn't have to explain himself to anyone, and if anyone bothered to ask him about anything he would just attitude them to death. It was a simple life he lived, and he made sure it stayed that way. Effort was still something he could hardly abide, though if he looked at things closely he would see things had changed.

Even with the excuses, he had plenty of time to break into this place, if he had wanted to. He just hadn't. It didn't appeal to him like it once did. That wasn't to say he was becoming a straight laced good guy, but his attitude had shifted. His focus was set. He knew what he was and who he was, and how he wanted to live his life. He was loyal to something, even dedicated, which was strange for a guy like him.

He was a senshi. He fought for the people who shared that aura with him, the side of Order, regardless of their stupid ideals or whatever dogma he was supposed to believe in but didn't. Those details didn't matter to him, so much as knowing there were bad guys out there that needed to be stopped. And he was the man to do it.

So he was batting around a new idea. If there were people getting beaten up by Chaos, they needed someone to go out there and show those clowns it was not something they would get away with.

Chaonis wanted to be that guy.

The buildings and apartments laid out before Navi could easily be considered a little run down and shabby, but they were generally well cared for, all things considered. It was a more run down bit of the city, one that was very familiar, but also one the Senshi of Tumbleweeds hadn't visited in while. She'd have liked to say she hadn't been avoiding it, or the senshi she knew patrolled this area, but she didn't often lie to herself.

She knew why she'd stayed away, it had been simple. What wasn't simple was her reasons for coming back. They didn't make sense, not even to her, but here she was.

At first she thought maybe he'd moved on, found a new place to haunt, but a little further wandering let her pick up on the familiar Order aura that all but permeated the area. Chaonis, Eternal Senshi of Danger. Uneasy ally, sometimes lover, her dear Fiyero.. And she'd up and disappeared on him.

Of course, considering who she was dealing with, she had to wonder if he cared all that much. Oh sure, she knew he had a soft spot for her, that was obvious, but what they'd shared was complicated, troublesome, forbidden, and went against everything they both fought for. Maybe he was happy with her out of his life and things simple once again.

There was only one way to find out.

Navi kept walking, heels clicking gently along the concrete ledge of a building as she made her way, unhurried, towards him. Her power had raised since the last time he'd seen her, she was a super now, but against him, that didn't make a whole lot of difference. He was stronger then her, both in power and sheer physical strength. If things turned violent, she wasn't walking away from this encounter unscathed.

Chaonis felt the approach of a Chaotic aura and grinned. He hopped from the roof and dropped down to the sidewalk. He was not quite sure how he knew it was her, but he was proven right when he saw her.

They hadn't run into each other in a while.

Feelings were complicated, and they rubbed Chaonis the wrong way. He was not a fan of anything emotional or complicated, and would rather dance through life without any cares. An apt attitude for Navi's Fiyero, certainly.

At least until he grows up.

Chaonis resisted that point. The idea that the more he dealt with, the more he would grow. Maybe he wanted to stay young and reckless, and not devote himself to this war. He didn't believe in most of the drivel the rest of the White Moon drooled out. All he believed in was himself, his friends, and the simple idea that there were bad guys that needed to be defeated.

Navi was a bad guy. Girl. She was his enemy and yet every time he saw her he couldn't decide if he wanted to punch her in the face or grab her and kiss her.

Regardless, he grinned at her, arms folded over his chest in his signature style.

"Must have followed all your little orders, huh? Got a little upgrade? That's very cute."
PostPosted: Wed Aug 29, 2012 4:37 pm

The barest hint of a smile tugged at the corners of soft pink lips as she felt the familiar energy signature drawing closer. He was coming to her, and that knowledge left her insides fluttering nervously in both excitement and anxiety. Every time they'd ever met it had been a whirlwind of electric tingling, heated contact, and hungry passion, and that wasn't something easily forgotten, not even with Grant so predominant in her life.

She shouldn't have gone looking for danger again, but she couldn't seem to help herself. Of course even as she sped her pace to meet the other senshi she felt a knot of guilt forming in her stomach. It counteracted the flutter a little, but not enough to send her running home.

When they finally met face to face the DMC had her arms folded as well. Gently crossed beneath the swell of her chest over the pale window of pale flesh her new fuku revealed.

She returned his grin, hazel eyes slipping half closed as she looked up at him, struck with the memory of his touch and the reminder of just how handsome he was.

"Something like that," she offered mildly, head tilting as one thin shoulder rose in half a shrug. "I saved a civilian from a youma that wanted to eat him, and nearly died myself. I suppose that was enough to earn me a power bump." She needn't have mentioned the civilian in question was her current boyfriend, or that he'd been awakened into yet another member of the Dark Mirror Court. Details.

Chaonis wrinkled his nose.

"You saved a civilian? Why would you do something like that? That's not really in your job description, is it? Hell, that's barely in my job description."

Mostly because he wrote it out. Or so he told himself to feel as cool as he used to, when he really didn't care about anything. Things were so much easier back then. The whole 'growing up' thing sucked.

Still, this felt good. It felt dangerous, which he liked. He needed it, in fact. He didn't meet enemies he was intimidated of, not very often at least, and no fight seemed worth it to him. He was cocky, reckless, though now he knew what loyalty was. He had some warped idea of duty. Yet here was an enemy that was a level beneath him in rank and she made him feel that thrill he was looking for.

Needed, he amended again silently.

"So what. You're just out looking for innocent lives to save? That's very... giving of you."
PostPosted: Thu Aug 30, 2012 5:22 am

"Why wouldn't I save a civilian?" Hazel eyes narrowed at him, taking in his expression. "I'm not going to sit idly by and watch someone be killed." She wasn't heartless.

In fact, if anything, she had too much heart. When Grant had been injured, Navi couldn't even bring herself to seek adequate vengeance. She'd certainly tried, but her loyalty to the court along with her own personal morals had gotten in the way, not once, but twice.

This wasn't the time for dredging up unhelpful thoughts though, and she pushed the memories of old battles out of her head, focusing on the man standing in front of her. Proximity was enough to leave the tips of her fingers tingling, and the urge to take those last few steps between them stronger then she would have liked to admit, but his tone kept her rooted to the spot. The amusement in his voice, and harsh bite of his words. She was used to him laughing at her, that was nothing, but this was different.

"I don't go seeking them out, no," she corrected, her own tone generally level, if not a little clipped. "But if I happen upon someone in need, I wouldn't turn my back to them." Her head tilted thoughtfully.

"Wouldn't you?" Wouldn't most anybody? Navi wasn't naive enough to assume all the powered players in their war had a conscious, but surely more then not.

Chaonis watched her with his mocking expression, cocky and so painfully self absorbed it even reflected in his dark eyes, a part of his very nature. Like he knew her better than she knew herself, because he was just that good.

"Unless they were a White Moon soldier, of course. Or maybe we all should just power down when we're in trouble and you're nearby. Your moral code is a little iffy, if you can just pick random people to save and others to kill." He grinned. "Or are you so deluded now that you think you can pick who lives and dies?"

Because he subscribed to that black and white mentality, clearly. Save everyone, or save no one. But then, he never included himself in anything, really, unless he was talking about how awesome he was. Then again, he never killed anyone.

He was baiting her on purpose. He wanted to see her worked up, angry even. Maybe subconsciously he just needed to see her as his enemy, to make things much more simple for himself.

Finally, he unfolded his arms, watching her, and took a step closer.

"Don't pretend you care about anyone but your precious little team. If you were told to, you'd kill anyone in your path to whatever it is your little cult wants this week. Friends, family. Me, too, of course."

He stopped right in front of her, looking down at her with a difficult to read expression, though his eyes were blazing.

"Not that I'd make it easy for you."

What rationality could't help, his expression, and his tone, certainly did. With every word the eternal before her spoke the desire to touch him faded, until she was holding her own arms tightly crossed. Not to keep from touching him, but more as if they could shield her from the ugliness in his voice.

The worst of it was the tiny thread of truth in his words. She could have argued with the majority of of what he'd said, but to say she didn't want to see anybody hurt was a lie. She Still hated the Knights, and the Zodiacs.. They'd taken away her life, and nothing was ever going to bring it back, but the others? She could have argued, but judging by his tone and the look in his eyes, she seriously doubted it would help.

And that hurt a little more then she was willing to admit to herself.

Slender fingers tightened where they wrapped around her own elbows as he drew nearer, and she tipped her head back to meet those blazing eyes. His expression was unreadable, her's angry and hurt. There was nothing hard to decipher about it.

Of course, he had a point. If Ares came to her and told her she had to eliminate the white moon, there was a chance she'd do just that. Having not ever had to face such a situation, she honestly couldn't say if she could actually go through with it, but for her queen and her court she would try.

"No," she breathed up at him, voice harsh with the clench of her teeth to keep herself from yelling up at him. "I don't suspect you'd make it easy on me."

She didn't want him dead, and the thought of Ate falling left an ache in her chest. Navi wasn't evil, but here she was, once again having to hear just how wicked she was supposed to be. On top of the hurt that came from these words coming from Chaonis, the girl was just tired of being misunderstood.

God, did that sound ******** emo.

Chaonis could see that he was getting to her. He could almost see her body shaking, and now it was from anger. This was easier, and it was right, though he could admit that it did not feel so. He watched her and he felt impulses he shouldn't.

Apologize? He wasn't even supposed to know what that meant.

And of course it made him want to act out.

He moved back and unfolded his arm at last, taking a different stance. One foot back, the other forward, legs bent and his body ready. He lifted his arms with his fists clenched, holding them in front of him as he watched her. His grin was gone as well, his eyes still blazing but most of his face now obscured by his fists.

"I'm going to go ahead and get this started. All this babble isn't really my thing."

Did he want to fight her or did he just want to touch her? He might have done his best to get her head in the game, make her angry with him, but his motivations were muddying. He was going to fight and he was going to defeat her. Maybe if it was definitive between them, it would make the lines finally clear.

Or it was just an excuse to get close to her again, as bad as it was. They were enemies, after all, and he was supposed to hate chaos and stop it indiscriminately. He didn't considered the dark mirror to be real senshi any more, so why couldn't he just get his act together and beat this one like he would all the others?

He lunged at her as his thoughts crashed around in his head, tackling her hard.
PostPosted: Sat Sep 01, 2012 10:30 am

Hazel eyes narrowed as the senshi before her finally moved back, but there was nothing comforting about the stance he'd fallen into. It had the Dark Senshi of Tumbleweeds tenshing where she stood, ginger brows raising in disbelief.

There had been many threats between them about their meetings coming to blows rather then the heated embraces they had shared in the past, and while Navi had known Chaonis was sincere, somehow she never honestly thought he'd really attack her without the catalyst of extreme situations. She had clearly been mistaken.

"What-?" It didn't seem as though the DMC could pull together a coherent retort. Quite possibly because she couldn't really believe what was happening. Her senshi, her Fiyero, was attacking her.

All the anger he'd managed to dredge up within her fell away as he lunged at her, and whether from shock, or just painful betrayal, she did nothing to protect herself from him colliding with her and taking her down hard against the rooftop they'd been standing on. Her back slammed against the concrete, and she gasped, high and sharp, before all the air left her lungs. For a handful of long seconds the girl couldn't breath, and as she fought to relearn how her lungs worked her hands came up to push against Chaonis' chest plate.

She didn't want to fight him. They might have been on opposite sides of this war, but Navi had trouble labeling him as an enemy. More so then any other misguided white moon soldier.

"Fiyero," she croaked up at him when she could finally catch her breath. Her eyes were wide, and for the first time in there sorted relationship there was fear reflected in the soft hazel.

Chaonis expected some resistance from her as he slammed into her. She had seen him coming but she didn't brace herself, not even in the way her instincts were meant to do. Any trained warrior would instinctively tense up, brace themselves, if they saw an enemy barreling toward them.

But maybe that was just it. All she saw was Chaonis.

He heard her gasp, felt her body clench in that natural way they did whenever he landed a good hit. She curled into herself a bit.

He pulled his fist back and swung without letting his brain process. Forcing himself to attack without lingering on things like emotion. Guilt. Worry. He couldn't feel these things, not against a member of chaos. He was supposed to be a goddamn hunter, and no one was above the scope of his lens.

He punched her once, hard, in the face. He felt his fist meet her gentle jaw line and pulled back again to swing but her voice was ringing in his ears. She called him Fiyero. Her Fiyero. He slammed his fist into the roof beside her face this time, feeling pain lance through his fingers. He was leaning over her, close, keeping her pinned and looking down at her.

She was scared of him. She saw it. But scared of his strength, as she should be, or scared of his abandoning her? Of the way he was trying, against his instincts, to break whatever this was off. He touched his hand to her face, the side he had just struck, feeling his chest tightening and anger surging in him. Despite the touch being gentle now, he yelled at her.

"Fight me, damn you!"
PostPosted: Sat Sep 01, 2012 11:09 am

The endearment had barely left her lips before he'd cocked his arm back and that heavy fist had slammed down into the delicate line of her jaw. It forced her head back against the roof, her skull bouncing off the concrete, and everything swam with streamers of white and grey before clearing in time for her to see his fist raising up again for another blow.

She flinched as he struck again, eyes slamming shut as those closed knuckles came towards her, but the blow never came. Instead she heard his hand connect with the rooftop beside her head, and the impact alone was enough to pull a startled scream from the dark senshi's lips.

The glitter of tears were making her eyes shine, and as she blinked up at him, it wasn't the pain throbbing along her jaw that sent them in hot streams down her pale cheeks, but having once again believed that someone had cared about her, and then turned around and betrayed her. First Ate, and now her Fiyero.

He touched her, tanned fingers brushing against the point where he'd hit her, and she flinched, cringing at the pain that even that tiny contact shot through her face.

When he yelled she tensed, but it was enough to chase away some of the fear that was so predominate in her eyes, and she stared up at him, angry now herself, before hollering back. "I won't!" How could he expect her to fight him? As quickly as it came the anger left her, and her voice sounded small and hollow as she went on. "I can't.."

Chaonis glared at her and felt like hitting her again, but he couldn't even pull his hand back. He couldn't make a fist, and not because he had hurt it by punching the roof. His body was rebelling, ordering him to go against what he was supposed to stand for, what he was supposed to do.

But wasn't that always the way, at least with him?

This involuntary need for her, however, was startling and more than a little confusing. He did not know the name of half of the emotions roiling through his tight chest, and only recognized them for the acid they were. The way each one burned in his gut, made his blood burn and his muscles ache. It was like he was fighting himself just as much as he was fighting her.

She had some sort of hold over him.

He had only felt this way before, in peace, a couple of times, and it was so much easier when he was sure of himself and able to play with it. This conflict, this need to pull away and escape, it was all new to him. He was scared, like she was. Maybe of the same things.

"Why?" he growled, his hand cupping her cheek now, still gentle, even while his other one gripped her fuku like he wanted to shake an easy answer out of her. "What do you think? That we can be friends? Is that what you want?"
PostPosted: Sat Sep 01, 2012 11:54 am

Once the shock of pain had left, Navi couldn't help but turn her face into the warmth of his hand where he cupped her cheek. She was still crying, but harder now, and right that second all she wanted to do was sink through the concrete she was laying on and disappear. Coming out here had been a mistake, so much had gone so terribly wrong in the matter of a few short minutes.

The twist of his fingers into the material of her fuku was a far contrast to the tenderness with which he was holding her cheek. Watching his face, she could see the internal conflict he was going through, and even with her body aching from what he'd done to her, she could help but reach up to touch his cheek as he was doing for her. Dainty fingers slid along the edge of his jaw almost feather light, as if she were afraid he'd jerk away from her.

Shaking her wouldn't have done any good. She didn't have an answer for him, and certainly not an easy one. They'd never been friends, not really. From the moment they'd met they'd been more then that, and less.

The bud of her thumb stroked along his cheek, delicate and soft, before that small hand slide around to the back of his neck. She used her grip on his chest plate to pull herself up against him(not an easy task considering how much her head hurt at the moment). She longed for the feel of his arms around her, even after he'd slammed his fist into her jaw. It wasn't rational, but she couldn't deny the feeling.

If she was smart she'd have pushed him away and made straight for the nearest mirror. Something was holding her back. Maybe it was the conflict in his eyes and voice, maybe the soft brush of his palm along her cheek, but something was there that made it clear that things between them were just as complicated as they'd always been. Maybe even more so now.

Chaonis watched her as she touched his cheek, shuddering at the coolness of her soft fingers, and the hesitant and feather like way she touched his skin. His cheek was rough with stubble from his goatee, which he did not keep as neat as he could.

When she tugged on his chest plate and lifted herself off the ground, he put his arms around her instinctively. He held her to him lightly, staring at the ground as he let her cling to his chest.

What was he doing? Offering her comfort? From what? He was the one that had upset her: he was her enemy. He'd just punched her in the face, yet here he was only seconds later, cradling her to him. Like he was sorry. That was not something he knew how to handle. Any of this.

So he shut up and shut down at once, staring over her shoulder and holding her to him. He moved after a moment, finding her face and turning it to him so he could catch her lips with his. Whatever they were, their emotions were too much of a force for him to try and understand or deal with properly.

"I need to get out of here," he said, though he barely pulled away to say it.
