Hearthfire – Coming to Xbox LIVE on September 4th
The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim: Hearthfire - Official Trailer
With Skyrim’s newest game add-on, Hearthfire, you can purchase land and build your own home from the ground up – from a simple one-room cottage to a sprawling compound complete with an armory, alchemy laboratory, stable, garden, and more. Use all-new tools like the drafting table and carpenter’s workbench to transform quarried stone, clay, and sawn logs into structures and furnishings. Even transform your house into a home by adopting children.
Hearthfire releases on Xbox LIVE next week (September 4th) for 400 Microsoft Points.

I've been waiting for some kinda of player home DLC, and we finally have it. The idea sounds interesting, something that you would have found in a PC mod for the game. Using the various resources the game has to build your own home.
I really hope there is a small list of location's, and not just one single pre-determined location, that we can choose to build our new homes.
I doubt this DLC is the 2nd of the 30 day timed Xbox 360 exclusives that Beth mentioned, although it could very well be. It was just my feeling that for something to have that exclusiveness to it, it have more "meat on the bones"

Just watched the trailer for it earlier, it looks pretty good. I have a bad feeling the options will be limited though :l. I was half expecting to see the PC house mod to be advertised (the mod version for PC looks so badass)

I feel the same way, granted we can stop building when ever we want to, but there will be some kinda of "finished" limit that Beth will put into place. But from what was shown in the video, there looks like there will be plenty of things to build/add.
All in all I'm spending the 400 MS points to get this next week.

"In a way it kind of reminds me of creating a Stronghold in Morrowind, obviously with more customization to it. One thing I wonder is if it'd be instantaneous or they'd make you wait a set amount of time for each upgrade/expansion. Though, somehow I think it's going to be instantaneous, but I'd like if they did make you wait a few days... give you a reason to leave and go off and do something."

Oh wow, I completely missed the similarity with MW's Strongholds and Hearthfire. XD I'm such a bad Dunmer, can't even remember why own stuff.
I could have sworn the video mentioned something about it taking time to "craft" each upgrade/expansion. I'll have to re-watch the video to be sure. It would be more "realistic" if there was a waiting time, one could always just "wait X amounts of hours if they didn't want to wait the actual in game time it would take.

I really like the first Fable, once they started to move toward more industrialization in part two and three it lost its appeal to me. For some reason people just want games like that to have guns...or it could be a steam punk thing -shurgs-

Halo is another one of my all time favorite series, but I've never actual pre-ordered any of the games. I've always went and got it at Midnight on launch day, or sometime later that day. Usually were I live there are always copy's to purchase.

I like the steampunk. I like 2 as a step up. There was some step ups from the first one. The third was just so much dumbing down and bullshitery in that one that... Ick.

Really digging the new DLC. The video is a bit misleading as you can't equip all the rooms it talked about into one house. But you can create three separate house's in three different holds. Basically it was the hold capitals that don't already have homes in them; Falkreath, Dawnstar, and Morthal. The homes are not within each of the towns/cites there are location in the "wild" near those capitals.

Oh and it's quite fun having to hunt down resources to build the said home, and furnishings that go inside. Just a tiny bit of Minecraft added to the game, what could be a better combo that Skyrim and Minecraft? Well besides the classic Chocolate and Peanut Butter....
