Luciel was forcing himself to do something that he rarely did during the day time, he was taking a bit of a break. It was warm out today and he figured that he should probably sit down, take a breather, get a drink, and perhaps avoid the worst of the heat that came with midday. He could always make more process on this leg of his pilgrimage come late afternoon to early evening after all. So long as he made it to one of the various places that he saw as being a safer place to came by nightfall he'd be happy, not one that traveled at night without good reason due to past experiences that led him to understand that night travel was far too dangerous. He would be rather happy when the seasons began to change, much preferring the autumn as it had the best temperatures as well as the beautiful changing of the leaves. For now though he was stuck here and without even a good spirit around to talk with.

Giving a bit of a sighing sound the blond leaned back against his stuffed full pack, his over sized red fan sitting next to him without reach of his good hand, and let his eye close for a moment. What to do? There was little too do, maybe a nap under the trees that he was currently sitting under? He supposed that it was an option but napping so close to a walking path meant that others could approach him without him knowing it, something he was pretty wary of. Maybe he'd just rest his eye instead of a real, full on nap he thought to himself, lifting his hand to run his fingers through his long locks of hair, able to tell in a moment that they were wind blown and in need of a good, aggressive combing. A bath would be nice as well but given where he was he couldn't quite recall a stream close enough to be of use in that area and it wouldn't be raining anytime soon, something his specific birth marking told him. He'd need to travel further for such a thing or, and it wasn't an option he gave a lot of thought to, he would need to rent a room at an inn. It was something that he so rarely did that he almost didn't even consider the option, sure he could hold out until he reached one of the various Shrines were his people stayed. Again, something that wasn't an option for the day.

After a whole lot of thought on the idea, he slowly sat up, rifling through his pack with his hand, and brought out his comb. He might as well, it wasn't as though he were going to allow himself to nap where he was and now that his mind was on his hair, one of his few vanities, he couldn't get his mind off of it. A few short moments later, his hair ties removed, as well as his fan like, decorative eye patch, the man set to work getting the snarls out of his hair though not before he made sure that his bangs on one side fell down just so to cover up where his eye patch had once been. If Luciel was always careful about one thing it was hiding his various scars, it was the reason he kept half his face cover as well as why he wore long sleeves that feel far passed his his wrists, to hide scars. The last thing the man wanted was pity, or questions, about the scars so he'd found it best to hide the to avoid such situations. Lost in his grooming ritual, one long ear twitching on occasion, the blond allowed himself to relax his guard, even just a little, as he worked on his hair though he knew the best he would be able to do on his own once done was tying it back in place loosely. Better then nothing though and when he got to the next Shrine he knew he could get aid there before he was back on his journey once more.

Work hadn't needed the promising today. The owner had taken the day off for a family affair, a wedding of their eldest son, and decided to reward Athir for his hardwork with a break of his own. It'd last for at least three days... It was strange, really... not going to work like he did everyday. In a way it left him feeling a bit lost with what to do with himself. He'd naturally gotten up early that day regardless of his time off, and drank a nice warming cup of tea with a light breakfast, read from one of his books, and prepared a meal for his housemate. With the bit of the house that was dirty tidied up, the witch was again at a loss of what to do... so early in the day. But, he decided that a venture out of town might do him some good. Collect some plants for his healing potions, and maybe work a little of his magic.

He didn't want to bother Kian with his silly habit though, or waste the others time waiting around for him to finish getting his fill of harvesting. He'd come back and spend some time with the witch eater once he'd finished his gathering. Walking through the streets of town, offering a few reserved smiles to those that actually looked at him, the timid boy didn't say anything to anyone. There was no one to say hello to anyway. He hadn't any friends besides Shaden and Kian. Even so... he wasn't sure on their stances with one another. Being alone the majority of his life without any relations, he wasn't used to actually having them and how to appropriately act. What was right what was wrong.. he didn't know. It was mildly stressful. And he felt like he was failing at it... Maybe he was destined to be alone... to always be that wallflower that was walked past, and never given a second look. That silent presence that was too disabled in the ways of social activity to interact or take charge... Such thoughts plagued the boy with depression at times... and now was not the time for them.

The forests were a place he thoroughly enjoyed. Surrounded by more plant life and nature... excelling in healing and the way of wielding flora, this was home to him. A small satchel was laid across his chest, over his flowing white coat, scarf comfortably wrapped around his neck below his chin; his means of security. Gray eyes skimmed the beautiful woods, in no rush to get anywhere, his stride slow so as to take in all that was around him. His ears tingled pleasantly with the sounds of birds and bugs twittering about... the hush of wind skating through the canopy's above, and rustling the low lying vegetation. The earthy smells tantalizing to his nostrils, causing a rare genuine smile to cross the sweet boys soft face. A few flowers bent towards him as he passed, and a few blossomed under his gentle encouragement. Following one of the many beaten paths, he eventually came to spy the resting figure just down the way under the large tree. He looked to the man for a moment, a bit hesitant to continue forward for he didn't want to disturb him. But... he'd just pass by.. so as not to be a bother. Thus he continued onward, keeping his eyes to the ground, small hands clutching to the strap of his satchel.

Even so lost as he was in his grooming ritual it seemed as though as soon as Athir got within a certain distance from his one of his long ears gave a twitch and he lifted his good eye up, glancing over toward the young man. He watched him for a long moment, body tensing up, but it appeared as though he weren't here to cause Luciel any bother, if anything it seemed as though the other man weren't coming too close to him, not saying either, it was just a passing of two people in the forest. Not a thing he was too used to happening but given he wasn't as far from town as he would like it was a possibility, wasn't it? His hand was paused in what he was doing before he continued to comb his hair in a careful manner. He found himself questioning if he should do anything and if so, what? Should he call out to him? Say something? Perhaps a greeting of some sort? He really did hate the social aspect of life given he rarely had a clue what he should do in a given situation.

Setting to work combing his his long, blond tresses over one shoulder he gathered it all into as good a bundle as he before setting to work using his good hand and his teeth to tie it off loosely midway down his hair. It was about as neat as he could get on his own, not the best of styles but it worked. Once that was down he reached out to scoop up the fan like, decoration and put it back in place over his close, blinded eye, and then finally with what equated in his mind as a shield he finally felt comfortable enough to give a friendly, "Good day." To the passerby, figuring that it would be only right that he gave some sort of greeting to show that he acknowledged that he wasn't alone. He didn't want to seem like a total jerk after all because that might reflect negatively upon his people, not something that Luciel wanted at all. While he wasn't really an open, friendly, chatty sort, he didn't want all of his people to be looked upon as such. Best that he at least try to be more friendly then was normal for him. It was a bit of stretch but he was trying these days to been a little... nicer, maybe a little more likeable. He'd never make any sort of friends or acquaintances if he continued as he had to this point after all if he didn't at least try.
