Afterparty Aftermath had one thought in his head.

Such trains of thought were not bad per say, but, they did tend to override basic things he needed to do at times. Parties meant cake and candies, and music and dancing and if they were lucky a pinata! Sure they made a mess, (and he would clean it up), but parties were fun and to be enjoyed to the fullest, even if he was a foal. The secret stuff would just have to wait.

But once he was Old Enough for the secret stuff? He was totally going to go to even more parties. Totally. Besides every party needs a planner and he was good at that and at cleaning after. No sense in having a party if you make a huge mess which would lead to no one wanting a party because then they would have to clean up the mess of the last party.

Cleaning later, planning now.

As he was setting out some decorations another colt came in and green eyes practically sparkled when he said he was there to assist.

"It's here! And if you're here to help that would be great! I was in the middle of trying to put up some streamers but uh-" He shuffled hoof to hoof. "I'm a nit short all by myself and no one can hold a ladder for me."

BEST. Climbing up the ladder, streamers in mouth, the colt tried to not accidentally trip over himself. That would likely had had painful results. Setting them down before sticking them on the wall, he grinned, tail giving a small wag.

"Once these are up, we need to blow balloons! And the plan of attack is um-" He paused in his work, hoof to chin. "It's get the job done as best we can! Not the most organized but I think it will work fine you know?" The lack tack shoved into the wall, he climbed down.

"The party if for the sake of a party! I mean, I guess I could say it's because there have been a bunch of cool new ponies moving in, but, really sometimes you just need a party because you want to have one!" Plus he really liked cleaning and parties were the best for that.

"But we're gonna have punch and cake and chips and pin the tail on the dragon and then dancing and I think if we're really lucky, we might be able to get a lot of candy! Just depends on what my folks say."

The phony knew where it was at! “I like throwing parties because it also gives me something to clean up after. I mean, it’s weird, but I like cleaning things, and after parties, there is always a big mess. It’s like a big ‘ol challenge. Clean it up and make it look like nothing happened. ‘S part of the reason my folks allow it really, since they know I’ll clean it all up!” His tail gave a flick.

“Once we’re done setting up-“ He blew into another balloon, tying it off “-the part will be awesome. Then a day after? This place will be cleaner than it ever was before.” Afterparty was sure of himself. He’d be a great cleaner. Party maker and stuff. “But you’re right, the party will make a lot of phonies happy, which is really more important than cleaning stuff. Clean is nice, but happy phonies are much more important.” Another balloon blown, he trot over to a table.
“So wait, what did you say about the invites again? Cuz I think just saying ‘PARTY’ is kinda lame you know?”

Afterparty was fooled. Hook line and sinker. In part. Sure he was excited to meet another foal that like cleaning just as much as him, but- “Aw, having PARTY for a name isn’t lame. I just meant for invites! ‘Cuz then you don’t know when or where and if there is a phony name PARTY they might think the invite is for him or that they need to see him and that would be really confusing and- Oh man, people would think it’s a party for PARTY and then it would be like a party for PARTY just to party and then we’d get this weird never ending party caption oohhh mannnnnn….” He held his head.

“I think I’m thinking to hard about parties. But- a not party… hrmmmm That sounds neat! It would be like, a secret style of party with secret things and maybe things that you don’t have to be Old Enough for, and yeah! Come to the not-a-party party! Make a mess and party or not party for the sake to party for a party? Mass party making? Man I think I’m thinking too hard but I like it! And after there will be a huge mess and we can spend hours cleaning it up until it’s all glittery and shiny and then people will be so amazed with how nice and clean it is they’ll wanna throw another party!”

A fool proof plan.
“Great idea Surrender!” He blew up another balloon, tying it off and letting it bounce off into the room. “This’ll be the best party-not-party ever!”

Afterparty wasn’t quite sure anymore. But- “It’s a party. That’s all that matters… I think.” He thought back on it, then on what Sweet was saying. “I think it’s more confusing than it should be. Let’s just uh… go with the fact it’s a party.” That would work too. “But yeah. Like.. You have a party, make a mess, have another party. It’s the life of a party. Sort of? I think. Maybe.” A shake of his head, he was guessing at that point.

The whimper didn’t go unnoticed as silence filled the space. Had he done something wrong? Or- “huh?” The sudden stutter had him worried. “Hey, you okay?” Stopping what he was doing, the colt went to his party planning comrade. “You started talking kinda different. You didn’t suck up any gas from one of the balloons did you? That’s not good for you. ‘S what my mom says anyway.”

Oh. OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. Staring at Surrender, the tiny colt came down, looking at the floor sheepishly. "It's okay. Cleaning is kind of... the only thing I'm good at?" He motioned to the room, decorations and child's attempts at mimicry for actual events. "I'm actually really bad at parties. Like, they're fun, but I, um well." He kicked over a yet to be inflated balloon.

"Parties I kind of just spend my time cleaning at them. It's okay though! I mean, about the not liking cleaning part. It's not really... normal." A heavy sigh, he shook his head. "I'm glad you told me, else I might have just dragged you into something and that's kinda the last thing I want. I just want phonies to be able to have a nice time."

Looking up, he smiled. "What is your thing, maybe we can do that- someone who's good at party planning... they can take over." Because he likely would keep wanting to clean.

How was that even a question? Of course they could still be friends! "Yeah! I mean, I wanna stay friends! I, well, sorry for roping you into this. It wasn't very nice of me." Sheepishly, Afterparty rubbed the back of his head.

"How about we find a phony who can help with the party next time, then we can do what you wanna do, and when we're done, I can clean up!" This sounded like a plan right? "Every pony can win!" All that was left now.. was just waiting. And maybe planning future parties
