(For PrettyMLPlover, but if you wanna join, IM one of us and let us know.)
Day Two. The Phoenix Five had pretty much disbanded the United Nations. The Middle East was hauntingly quiet, and villages from third-world countries were enjoying feasts beyond their wildest imaginations. People didn't even have to go to work, if they didn't feel like it. No one wanted for anything, and happiness was no longer out of anybody's reach. Even the line between mutants and normal humans no longer held any meaning, because the normal humans no longer had anything to fear from the former mutant threat. It was a goal that the X-Men had been striving towards for decades.
Why did it all have to feel so empty?
Here they were, at the summit of all their struggles. But there was no joy of celebration to be felt, at least nothing genuine in light of a hard-fought battle suddenly ending so effortlessly. It really seemed anticlimatic.
Venser Moorfield, a young mutant whom had barely been in the Xavier Acadamy for Gifted Students for a few months, was trying his best to absorb all this without overlooking anything important. But it seemed like there wasn't much time for his own thoughts, especially since they were no longer his alone. Emma Frost kept constant watch over everyone's thoughts, seeing to it that they all spun only good, happy thoughts and no breathed life into any rebellious, unpleasant thoughts. Taking ahold of his powers of magnetism was what he came to that school for, but it seemed now he would be forced to use it against deserters, humans and mutants alike who wanted to keep their freedoms of thought and liberty.
Setting out in single-craft jets, Venser split up from his unit to search the city, letting Cerebro basically guide his jet to unchecked mutants wandering the streets. It was mind-numbing how everything seemed so automated, it was enough to make him retch.

After a recording session had been cut short, due to Thor coming to pick her up for a meeting involving S.H.E.I.L.D. The Asgardian made his usual uncanny innocent, jolly and loud way about how he was here for the "Stark Offspring" and all that droll... Toni wanted to call her father up and have him do something about Thor's adaptation of the Midgard culture... or just having him come get her... either way, Toni was not about to stick around Thor's presence once on board the Hellicarrier.
Fury had called on the Avengers since the Xmen were once again creating disturbances in New York. This time, they had several streets on lockdown and holding civilians hostage in their own homes. Ever since Tony Stark and fragmented the Phoenix Force, it was an all out territory tug of war with them, now that Emma had taken leadership, dominating the other Carriers. So Fury was "requesting" they do something about it. Steve Rogers, AKA Captain America had insisted Toni, or Nettie, as the Avengers called her, she sit out on any bouts with Mutants. She understood their concern where her unpredictable Arc Reactor was concerned, along with her "parents" over-protectiveness... but she had tweaked her reactor enough to where she could go toe to toe with most of the mutants and not have power failure. Plus her dad had made some adjustments to her suit for in case such a situation occurred. But either way, Toni made her resistance to sitting this out known, having her father give in due to the minimal threat the Xmen currently stood as with just a handful out there.
So she made her way onto Harlem, after doning her Iron Maiden suit. The Captain assigned everyone; Natasha, Clint, Bruce, Tony, Thor and Nettie to their own areas where one or two mutants had taken down to. Toni was following hers, who had occupied Harlem. JARVIS was doing a scan of the streets when it picked up on someone walking. A file was pulled up just to the left of her visor, her opponent's file from S.H.E.I.L.D. Only skimming over a class and threat readout, missing what his mutation was entirely, she landed 10 feet in front of him, cutting off his path

This was an interesting bit of irony, unfolding as the people were still breaking into mass panic over the mutants. Only this time, there were no Sentinels that would come in to break up the party. The Sentinel plant at the edge of town was still being put out by the local firemen. No, they were running in terror from the X-Men their own self-appointed leaders, because they still hadn't lost the will to fight. Honestly, Venser just wanted to let them go. But the X-men are now the right hand of the Phoenix Force, and with that domi-b*tch Emma micromanaging everyone's thoughts from her precious little temple, Venser was left with no choice for his actions.
After he disembarked from his jet, he tried to reason with a crowd of resisters, only to be cut off by Iron Man....who seemed to pick up some really sleek curves at some point. Or maybe it was his girlfriend, since there weren't a lot of people that weren't familiar with the billionaire's playboy personality. To him making another suit for his girl would probably be the same as letting her pick out a sportscar from his garage. He smirked at her.
"Well miss, don't you think you're flying just a little too low today?" as he spoke, his hand started to generate an electromagnetic field. Stark probably factored in the dangers of facing threats such as Magneto, but no matter how much of that suit may be made of plastic, in the end it still needs metal parts to generate electricity and power the suit. He was ready to toss the ball of energy at her, should she try to deploy any weapons.

"Miss there is a build up of magnetic energy in the surrounding area, I would advise you take caution, the reactor has not been fitted for such threats." JARVIS spoke into her earpiece, but it would not register behind her helmet. Random readings on structure integrity on surrounding buildings, heat signatures from people and other things, as well as her targeting system scanning the man's body for any tells flooded her visor, she smirked at his comment and began to pace a small parameter, "Don't you think you've played Bad a** a little much today?" she shrugged, obviously he did not take her too serious... as would be the usual case being a woman. Even in a suit of the most advanced technology this planet had seen, she was still underestimated. She watched the readings of the electromagnetic field carefully, even if the suit was fitted to withstand a certain level of magnetic pressure and all... the suit was still metal, and she'd had her hands full with him if he decided to get violent. "How about we call it a day and play human dominatrix another day hm? Starting to get a bit old, don't you think?" Her tone was taunting, but she truly was trying to look for a way to avoid a fight... if JARVIS sent out a distress signal; a feature she had no control over thanks to her father; her team would abandon their posts and come running to save her, leaving New York vulnerable... which was not something she'd swallow lightly...

Touching down, the girl started to pace around him. And was apparently taunting him, calling him a 'human dominatrix' and such. His smirk broadened. Well, if he absolutely had to play the bad guy here, the blonde would at least be entertained. His rust-hued eyes glistened with a brief shine of burgundy before he took a step towards the armored female, his hand generating even more power as particles and hunks of metal from the park start to surround him.
"Human dominatrix.....it's funny you should say that."
At that moment, his mind felt as if engulfed by flame, an unquenchable pyre that could only be born of the Phoenix. Emma was invading his mind! He collapsed to his knees, clenching his head with his free hand.
Now that wasn't very nice, little Venser. We don't need you giving the Avengers too much information....
"Get....get out of here....!" he managed to force out before his palm reached out to the Iron Maiden, enclosing a magnetic field around her which she had miliseconds to dodge.

JARVIS' alarm went off as her defensive system kicked in, her thrusters firing to get her out of the magnetic field but it was too late. The pressure increased on her suit and she was left motionless. Readings coming over her visor in red poured over the screen, a damage report and a power readout from her reactor, as well as a percentage readout of the magnetic field. She strained to move her suit, but the metal did not give way to her movements. "Miss, we are caught in a magnetic field. Hull integrity can only withstand-" "Shut up and tell me something useful like how to get free!!" she shrieked, her voice echoing out of the suit, sounding mechanical and strained.
She did not understand how these mutants could do such things, but it was obvious she was outmatched here if he truly had as strong of a field control as Magneto... if he did... she was either now inside her own coffin... or the suit was about to be ripped apart, painfully.
He wretched the suit to arch back, purposely causing her pain. A agonized scream echoed off the buildings as her body was forced into a backwards arch that was bounder-lining her body's natural flexibility, but being forced into that contortion was painful in itself. More readings in red flood her screen, this time showing her skeleton and where the pressure on her bones where in a blinking white ping.

Venser's vision was blurring, and he managed to focus enough to see that the female was indeed caught in his field. But it wasn't a field he wanted to make, something else was wanting it for him! He watched the girl's body twist in pain as she struggled to break free. He didn't want this for her, this wasn't how it was supposed to be!
Such a naughty little boy, am I going to have to straighten your attitude out when you return to the institute?
Oh, that was it. The line had officially been crossed. Having his brain invaded by some trashy old maid and letting her control his actions was -not- what he signed up for when he joined the X-men. He couldn't even dispel this field, even though every cell in his body was screaming for it to stop. Frantic, he reached out and grabbed a rock, slamming it as hard as he could in the side of his head. He collapsed, but thankfully it caused the field to weaken considerably.

Toni felt as if the suit had loosened around her, the readout on the field strength had plummet to normal levels. She let out a breath as she straightened herself out, turning to see the man on the ground and realized if he lost conscious, the field disbursed. "Nettie! Are you alright?" Her father's voice yelled into her earpiece as a picture of him came up on her screen. She didn't even hear the distress signal go out. "Yes, I'm fine... now at least. Send Bruce my way... I got a little burden I think I need to bring home..." The comm shut off and Toni unlatched the face piece, it moved itself out of the way, revealing her face, which was sweating from the effort she made to break free from the field just moments ago.
Bruce had managed to come to terms with the Hulk and the two made a deal. So Bruce was in somewhat control over the Hulk now. Being one of the few that wore no metal, and being strong enough to knock someone out with a tap to their head, he was the only logical choice to dealing with this mutant. But something had her wondering... why did it seem like he had been using his powers... against his will... his temple was bleeding from the injury he gave himself. She only hoped he'd be out long enough for the Hulk to get to her.

About five minutes or so later the young man jogged himself out of his stupor, slowly collecting himself as he sat up to a sitting position. Blood was running down his cheek from the injury on his head, and he tried to steady his breathing after he remembered what happened. He looked up at the armored girl, her face plate disengaged. She was rather pretty.
"Are you alright?" he asked, getting her attention. She looked like she was waiting for something.
"I'm sorry about earlier. I would have rather our first date be at the movies or something instead of fighting this meaningless fight." he chuckled a bit, if not to alleviate his own fears. He did not like the feeling for Emma burrowing into his mind, feeling around through memories he never wanted to share with anyone. He felt vulnerable, exposed.

Toni would have blushed... if she were any other woman. But she wasn't. She was an Avenger... and above all else, she was a Stark. Stark women do not blush. She turned to the man as he spoke and raised her eyebrow when he called their fight meaningless. "If it was meaningless.... why are you with the X-men then.... you obviously share their views..." she said as she crossed the suit's arms. With each movement, the suit made a soft whirring sound and clacked against itself. The Arc reactor in her chest maintained a healthy glow, the toll the suit took, even though minor, the reactor had sustained no damage at all, not even a power drain.
While he was out, she did an assessment and discovered JARVIS did not send the distress call. It must have been activated by the magnetic field, like an invisible hand had triggered it. Which was probably him, trying to get her help.
She waited for his answer, patiently as she waited for the Hulk

"Heh, well it's certainly true that I'm with the X-men but that doesn't mean I'm going along with their current views. The fact is, the X-men aren't really pulling their own strings, anymore." rising to his feet he dusted his pants off and held his hand out for her to shake. "I'm Venser Moorfield, classified user of magnetism. I was a member of the X-men but now....I guess this means that I'm under arrest.
Before he could speak any further though, he felt the blazing gaze of the Phoenix in his mind again. Instantly he was on the alert, and the Sentinels from the ruined plant began to swarm in from the horizon. His eyes became steely, glazed over with anger.
"Headmistress Frost said she did away with the sentinels. That b*tch just enslaved them!"
Taking the girl by the shoulders, he looked her hard in the eyes. He never thought the end would come so abruptly, but then, that's pretty much all things have been since the Phoenix Five took over, abrupt. "Look, you better just get out of here, okay? It's not safe here, and the sentinels probably don't discriminate between normal humans and mutants anymore. Just tell the Avengers what happened here!"
Venser turned and made a break for the trees, trying to get cover from the Sentinels as they decended from the skies above, the flames of the Phoenix Force visible in their lifeless eyes as their hands directed their glowing plasma blasters at Venser.

There was a all too familiar loud roar as a flash of green rushed past Toni, making her smirk. She re latched her face piece back into place and shot her thrusters off, aiming for Venser. Grabbing him by the arm she tugged him back, "Sorry bout this... but I can't let you leave so easily..." she said with a sugary sweet voice and brought her hand to the back of his neck, where his brain stem would be and hit it with the perfect amount of force to knock him unconscious again. As he collapsed, she grabbed him up by the torso, the suit easily giving her enough strength to hold him up with ease. She flew off towards Stark Tower, knowing the Hulk could handle the sentinels.

This was a very small time frame for his brain to be undergoing this kind of punishment. It might have hopped out and gone on strike, if given the chance. Before he knew what was happening, he saw the birds break into panicked flight from the trees, alerted by the sound of what he could only guess was a monster in the distance. His muscles tensed with fear, but apparently that was enough lag in his movements for the girl to catch up and judo-chop him in the back of his neck. Terrifico, so now he gets to die while unconscious. Very manly.
He came to again some time later, this time in a room completely constructed of plastic. He knew where she took him. His arms where also bound in power-inhibiting gloves. It seemed like he was going to be operating according to the wishes of his hosts, for the moment. Well, he supposed it was just as well, he really needed a break from that nagging Phoenix wench.

Both Starks had to stay away from the room, given their reactors were metal, if he wanted, he could rip them out. Their suits being the only obstacle until removed. Tony and his daughter had designed the room he was in to not only hinder mutant's abilities, but to block them out from outside influence as well by targeting the exact mutated gene that allowed them their abilities. It was humane if the mutant inside didn't mind being inhibited for the time being. But both Starks kept away from the room all the same. Toni had a long talk with her father about what took place, and her father began to believe maybe the Xmen weren't entirely as united as Emma Frost had led them to believe.
While the elder Stark met with Fury, the younger Stark decided to keep an eye on their guest. Watching through monitors JARVIS provided through feeds of security cameras. Fury marked him in a potential S-Class mutant with his abilities. His powers were not as powerful as Magneto, but they were on that path just the same. It worried her.
She pressed the comm button, making a screen appear in front of him. "Comfortable?" she asked softly.

His thoughts were stirred when the screen just materialized in front of him. The girl from before was no longer wearing her suit. He rose up from his seat to greet her. Venser just couldn't believe how advanced this tower was.
"I guess I am, but this place could use a little entertainment. Maybe a pinball machine or a pool table, y'know?"
Venser was surprised at how much he was bantering for this seemingly unaffectual female. Here was a sea of electrons in front of him, forming the face of probably the prettiest female he'd seen in some time, and he couldn't even get a smirk out of him. He didn't even consider himself an active flirt; it was probably because the time he'd spent hanging out with Gambit.
"I suppose you guys will be handing me back in to the X-men, huh....?" He asked, feeling his spirit leave as he spoke. From the bottom of his heart, he did not want to go back there. Not until things were back the way they used to be.
