Rie walked out of one of her favorite candy shops with a bag in her hand. She was already digging into it to find the box of truffles she had bought. Once again she was indulging herself with sweets since her father was not around. She grinned as she found the box and quickly shoved one in her mouth shutting her eyes as she enjoyed.

Jack frowned as he saw the slap coming in slow motion. It was a shame. It truly was. Why was it that so many people had to take what he said so out of context. Maybe it was his country drawl or his laid back don't-really-care attitude, but this was the third or forth time he had been slapped today. He had just enough time to let out a disappointed sigh before the force of the hit knocked him staggering backward. He did his best to catch himself before he knocked into anyone, but like everything else today it seemed to be a bad-luck sort of day. He turned as he contacted with something soft and fleshy, an apology already dripping from his lips.
"Pardon me....ma'm. Didn't mean to knock into you. Real sorry about that." His frown grew deeper still as he looked down to see the spilled contents of the bag she had been holding. "Well....damn. Seems as if I owe you to replace all that. Again, I sure am sorry Miss."

Rie gasped and stumbled back as the stallion knocked into her. She faintly heard the apology, her gaze on the fallen bag of chocolates. "M-My candy..." The gwilith female looked up see another gwilith and was about to pout about her treats. However, he offered to replace them first. Her eyes lit up. "Really? You will, thank you!"

He smiled as she seemed to perk up at his offer to replace what he had spilled -albeit accidentally- when he had bumped into her. "Of course I will Miss. It was my fault it all spilled anyhow." He swept off his hat and bowed with a smile, his hair falling over his eyes to obscure the view of them. "The name is Jack Bailey miss. Its a real pleasure to meetcha. Wish it had been under better circumstances though." He stood straight and replaced his hat as he reached past her to open the door to the candy shop. "After you."

Rie giggled lightly and tilted her head when Jack bowed. "It's nice to meet you Mr. Bailey, my name is Rie." She stepped into the candy shop and looked back at the stallion. ""It wasn't entirely your fault though, I wasn't paying attention."

"Well Miss Rie, that might be true, but its still more my fault as a gentleman. A pretty little thing like you deserves to space out when you want. And a man like myself ought to consider himself a dang fool for not watching his footin'." He looked around the candy shop and let out a low whistle a smile curling his lips into a handsome smile. "What a fine place! You have mighty fine taste. What's your sugary treat of choice today?"

"Well, Mr. Baliey, I have also been taught that it is not advisable for a mare to space out it the middle of the marketplace. I let the lure of sweets distract me." My father would be so upset about this. When Jack asked her about her "sugary treat of choice" she smiled sheepishly. "It's really hard for me to choose. They are all so delicious it seems a crime to pick only one. However, I shall behave myself." She began to move along the displays to find the one treat to rule them all.

"Oh. I don't mind one bit. You pick yourself out anything your heart desires. Its the least I can do." He looked around himself tempted to partake in the sugar death himself.

Rie's green eyes went wide like a small child's. "I can? M-Mr. Bailey are you certain of this? I won't lie, I have a big sweet tooth..."

Jack nodded encouragingly at her and gestured around the shop. "I really mean it. Get as much as you think you're pretty little self needs. Though I must say I don't think a sweet thing like you could use anymore sugar. You're the real jem in this shop Miss Rie."

As much as I need? Rie was silent for a moment until she threw herself on Jack hugging him tight. "Oh thank you thank you thank you!!" She let go of him and began to list the very treats she had lost plus a few extra to the mearh behind the counter.

Jack smiled wide as he listened to her listing off sweets, waiting patiently for her to finish before adding in a request for a handful of irish cream truffles for himself. As the mearh behind the counter bustled about to fill the order he turned back to Rie. "Well Miss Rie, may I walk you home after this?"

Rie smiled up at Jack when he ordered his own batch of truffles. "That is a really good choice. When her bag of sweets was handed over her, she grinned, immediately digging into the bag, grabbing a chocolate covered strawberry and chomped into it. She smiled up at Jack and nodded. "You can walk me home, Mr. Bailey.

"Well, would you like one?" He held his truffles out for her to take one if she wanted as he began to leave the store. He grinned back at her, reaching out with his free hand to dust away some stray chocolate from her lips.
