Ever since he had unintentionally angered the Darkness, Ling had felt like part of his very identity had completely vanished. No dark spot he could find soothed him; as if the Darkness was still rejecting him. His mind in a whirl of confusing emotion and lack of solutions, the strange dark loving Pockettu had no clue what to do.

In the dull darkness of Ling's secret crevice Ling's antenna waved slowly as the husk of a pockettu slumped against he rough wall. His mind repeating the parting words of Darkness over and over in his head. It was like a puzzle and Ling remained at a loss for a solution. He did not understand what he had to do to latch onto the darkness and never let it slip from him again. His mind wandered to his relationship with his father. His frown deepened at the thoughts. His father had been one of those mind puzzles that had no solution. Ling put his clawed hand on his face and a deep sigh escaped his lips, vanquishing the memories from his mind. He let his hand fall back to the hard stone floor, bumping the small stone. His melancholy, blind face shifted to 'look' down at it. A strange feeling seemed to tingle through him and he gently picked up the smooth rock and held it tightly in his claws. The coolness seemed to help him clear his mind and think properly. Like it was some sort of link to the soothing dark presence of Darkness himself. Suddenly it came to him and Ling's entire body seemed to come alive, a small smile on his face. Opening his clawed hand he 'gazed' down at the stone. He had to share his heart and his desire with the Darkness, just like Darkness had done for him. He wasn't sure exactly how he should do or show this, but he was sure he was on the right track.
Ling closed his claw around the small stone and rose to his feet. To start he had to make something to show that he was sorry for what he had done and showed he was was at least trying to understand what the Darkness wanted. Ling had an idea too. Moving to the back of the crevice he found himself the perfect, sizable stone for his plans and pulling it aside he knelt before it. Setting his precious gift stone to the ground next to him, he lifted his razor claws to the stone and began working.

User Image It was cruel to say, but Antarmur'ss had not thought about Ling since his disappointed parting. He had been focused on other things. His world was getting a bit more complicated. Which was a good thing. Antarmur'ss was finally feeling like a true god. He liked being busy. he liked having things to do, a constant agenda of unending tasks to distract him from the boredom of passing time.

From time to time he felt something. Through the stone he'd gifted to the curious boy. Just a faint feeling of course. He didn't pay it much mind other then to send a faint bit of his presence to it, just to see what was going on around Ling. Then he was off again, looking in on this or that person.

Today though Antarmur'ss sat upon his throne in the highest room of his fortress. His chin rested upon his fist and his eyes glowed faintly. He was watching someone wandering in his forest right now, picking pale fish from the ponds with their bare hands. A pockettu girl was currently trying to fit a curtain over a window in a house she has claimed in his city. A little boy was on his knees in his bedroom praying for the scary things to not eat his toes tonight. So adorable.

His mind briefly touched on Ling when he touched his stone again. He did notice the boy was doing something, he could see it more or less. Something with a stone...but he didn't settle his attention on the little antenna boy fully quiet yet.

Ling's expression became sort of peaceful as he chipped away at the stone with his claws. Lost totally in the memory of the feeling he was trying to embody in his work. His antenna swayed constantly sending him the 'image' of his work. He wasn't sure that his method would work, but he had to try. There was no way that he could live his life without the Darkness's approval, not anymore. Without it no black space would be more than gray. His mind was currently not worring about the details, for it was too wrapped up in his project and what he was trying to portray. He wanted to let Darkness know that he was unable to live without him and that he was understood that one should not yearn for and push away the thing they desired above all else. Ling picked up a chunk of charcoal, scratching it to test that it was indeed what he believed it was. Satisfied he began to rub the black substance over the surface of his creation. Finally finished he set the charcoal down and hoped he had covered the stone well with the blackness. Sitting back on his heels a slight satisfied smile slid onto his lips and his antenna sent him the 'visual' of his creation. The chunk of stone, slightly smaller than Ling himself, had been carved into a rough image of Darkness kneeling with Ling leaning into the god's embrace. Which sat upon a semi-rounded pedestal with the work "DARKNESS" carved into it. It wasn't perfection, quite frankly it was rather rough and vague. However for one that is blind the piece was quite well done. Ling just hoped that it would portray the feelings he couldn't seem to form into words.

Antarmur'ss attention flickered. Darting between the dark and lonely places where his shadows lingered. Fading in and out of the homes of those who had offered themselves up to him. However, when Ling would place his finished stone offering upon the floor, his attention would return. On his throne Antar tilted his head. It was a curious gift. He could see that Ling had attempted to craft a image of him. While it was not of the same quality that some of his other statues had been made...Antarmur'ss could see something more to the piece then just that.

How to respond though? Had Ling truly come to accept him? Acknowledge that Antar was the same thing that he seemed to seek out? The personification of those shadowy places? Or was this just a hopeful offering that would perhaps give him one more taste of what he'd been missing?

Carefully Antarmur'ss infused some of his presence into the darkness around Ling. He did not speak nor seek to touch the boy in any way. Instead Antar let his power reach out to the statue. he engulfed it, wrapping it in a cool shroud until it was utterly swallowed up. He moved it, displacing it through the shadows from the spot Ling had crafted it, and into one of his temple rooms. Once done, he continued to linger, his attention focused on Ling now. All the while his touch keeping the shadows as dark as pitch around the boy.

Ling's antenna twitched as the familiar presence entered the dimness of the crevice. He felt his heart beat a bit faster as he more felt than saw the Darkness envelope his creation and take it away to were Ling did not know. He felt sure that he had at least earned the right to show Darkness that he knew where his heart was at. Ling's expression was calm in spite of the strange flurry of emotion inside him. Darkness's presence remained but he felt nothing else, like the god was watching, waiting for him to do something.
Ling was silent as the space around him became blacker and more soothing to the dark loving pockettu. He gathered his thoughts and took a calming breath, picking up the small black stone from the floor. Finally he spoke, his tone soft, hinted with remorse. "One sought what one had. One refused what one sought. One realizes that what one sought and what one refused are one in the same." Ling bowed his head and clasped his hands together around the dark stone. He did not expect Darkness to suddenly open himself up to him again as if nothing had ever happened. At this point Ling simply wanted Darkness to know he was trying.

Antarmur'ss allowed his lips to curl upwards faintly when Ling finally spoke. The silver tips of his talons gently tapped upon the arm of his throne as he considered what it was he wished to do right now. He could just leave the boy. Make him suffer a bit more. Make him long or even fall into despair. Of course that was assuming he was as desperate as Antarmur'ss liked to think he was. Or he could give him a final chance. Without knowing of course.

It took Antar a few moments to consider his options. Finally though he made a choice. not based on the value and heartfelt words of Ling. Oh no...he was simply bored and wanted some entertainment. Something to pass the time as he waited for something more interesting to happen within his domain.

Antarmur'ss shifted his darkness around Ling to focus it where the stone offering had once sat. This time Antar did not extend a hand to Ling, as he had two times before. He merely opened what would seem like a doorway in the shadows. Stairs leading downwards were the only invitation he gave to Ling. He would not carry him this time to the place he would have him go. Antar determined the boy would have to walk on his own to the destination in mind.

Ling lifted his head to 'look' at the spot where his creation had stood not long ago. His antenna waved as the doorway and stairs formed from the darkness around him. There was no beckoning hand or alluring words inviting him into the shadowy place. Ling put aside his thoughts and rose to his bare feet. The darkness was soothing to him and the lack of invitation was almost more drawing than if the god had once again reached out to him. Stepping into the darkness his lips turned up a hairline and he embraced the darkness that he loved.

He chose not to speak. He still had not 'forgiven' Ling for being so distant. Honestly though, Antarmur'ss was a prideful and arrogant god. He didn't like it when some small thing hindered him from doing or getting what he wanted. One could argue he was very much like a petulant child. Though such an argument was best made in the shining light with no shadows to possibly lend a eavesdropping ear.

The stairwell that Ling would choose to enter closed up behind him once he was a few feet down the steps. Plunged into absolute darkness, Antarmur'ss had no concern that Ling might trip or tumble in a unfortunate accident. Out of all the ones he toyed with, Ling seemed far more equipped to truly thrive in his light-less world. He didn't need to add glowing crystals or moss, lighten the depth of his darkness or provide a means to lead him along. The steps would descend in a rather straight downwards angle.

At the end though, the darkness would lighten. The depth of it banished as the stairs would open into another cavern. Unlike the ravine or the mines, this place was relatively small. Shaped in a perfect sphere, a breath of life permeated the cavern. Instead of a rocky floor to walk on, the ground of the cavern was a deep rich black soil. The cavern was thick with foliage, where dark blue and purple crystals jutted through to provide a low illumination. Patches of black colored flowers grew in great abundance. Black roses, tulips, orchids, and jewelflowers spilled over from one patch to another. Strange three black petal flowers flecked with silver that seemed to glow against them grew on firm stalks here and there. Winding through the patches were paths made of smooth black onyx stones. Identical to the one which Antarmur'ss had left for Ling upon his first visit. The fragrance of the flowers was powerful, though not overwhelming to the point it might give one a headache from their strength.

In the center of the cavern was a pool of black water. So perfectly smooth it could have acted like a perfect mirror. Yet it reflected nothing. Not the plants that bowed over it's edge, or the circling pattern of red and green glowing moss on the ceiling.

As Ling traversed down the steep stairs, the deep darkness soothed Ling and for the first time in a while he had a clear mind and felt happy. His antenna swayed slowly with his calm, confident steps. The silence, though likely because Darkness had not forgiven him, actually was preferred by Ling.
As the stairs ended Ling felt the depth of the darkness lift, but it was still plenty dark for him. His antenna fluttered picking up the detail of the grand space before him. So many things around him in such a small place. It was stunning to say the least. Though some of the beauty of it was lost to Ling's sightlessness.
The dark soil felt cool to his feet as he stepped into the dark, foliage filled cavern. Ling had never 'seen' such a strange, wonderful, assortment of plant life thriving in a light-less place. The sweet smell of the flowers awakened his nose. For a place not black as pitch, it was beautiful in its own way.

Antar granted Ling time to 'see' everything present. Mostly his attention was focused on the curious way his antenna drifted and twitched about. He tried to imagine what it must be like to 'see' the world in that manner. Even if Antar were to close his own eyes, he would still see everything as perfectly in the darkness were they open. He could not remove from his sight that which was a part of his presence. Not that he would wish to, even for a moment.

As Ling took in what he could of the cavern, Antarmur'ss shifted himself from his throne and vanished. He drew the shadows in upon themselves by the lake, where a stone bench nearly completely enveloped in dark green creeping vines sat. His tail twitched as he would finally take on a completely solid form in Link's presence...though he did not approach the little pockettu. He merely sat himself down and was more then satisfied to watch him in his garden at the moment.

Ling both felt and 'saw' Darkness as he appeared on the vine covered bench. For the first time 'seeing' the physical form of the one called Darkness. Ling did not seek to approach him. He was sure how to really, after what had happened it felt even more difficult to know what he should do. So he continued to take in the spectacle of the cavern in reverenced silence. Unconsciously he began rubbing the small black stone that was like unto the ones that formed paths through the dark greenery.

The garden was his place to sit in peace. Here he could just focus on himself. The concerns of his servants and the adoration of his worshipers were outside this place. Of course Antar did not mind allowing others the chance to look upon his garden. What was the point in creating a place of such beauty if others did not know it existed? He liked the rumors that flowed after he let someone experience a visit here. Of course, the garden served other purposes. A test. A reward. It could be many things to many different pockettu.

Antarmur'ss allowed Ling his chance to wander and investigate the garden. No dark beasts wandered here. The greatest danger here in the garden came just from the pockettu themselves. Antar did notice how Ling rubbed the stone he had bequeathed him on his first visit, and he could only smile faintly at him. Once Ling had been given enough time to wander for a bit, Antar rose from his seat. He had enough of watching the little pockettu. Instead he wandered to a patch of black roses and knelt down in the soil. A shadow shifted and shaped in his hand into a small weeding tool. Gently he worked the soil with his hand to aerate the soil while digging out small weeds from around the base of the plants. Antar lifted up a bit of creeping vne and inspected the white root system before tossing it into a shadow where it vanished. "Do you like my garden?" He finally asked Ling.

The garden wasn't the ringing of the music of Darkness's desire nor the warmth and wonder of it's heart. However the garden showed Ling a whole new kind of beauty that could be created within the darkness. Wandering about the garden gave Ling a different sort of pleasurable feeling. 'Seeing' so much life thriving in a place void of the one thing most life needed or desired, actually made Ling feel more alive than he had in a very long time. A sweet peaceful feeling that helped take the edge of his uneasy antisocial feelings, at least a bit.
Ling 'watched' as Darkness rose and moved to work in the dark soil, still rubbing the dark stone. He was not and would not likely ever become a social butterfly so to speak, he was regaining control over his typical confidant self. Overcoming the extreme desires and allowing the thing he loved to become a natural part of him. When the god spoke Ling turned his sightless face towards him, antenna waving methodically. A slight smile came to his lips and he spoke. "Evidence that life thrives in the absence of that once thought to be needed; flawlessly reflecting what should be." His words calm, cool, and relaxed. He may have a strange way of speaking, but his emotions, at least at the moment, where pretty clear. Darkness was much more than just something to love.

That, Antarmur'ss supposed, was quiet possibly the most direct answer he may have gotten from Ling yet. His tail swayed behind him, the tendrils growing and shrinking in random waves while Antar simply tended to his gardening. He turned over a bit of hard earth and plucked out a creeping bug. With a small flick of his fingers it vanished through the shadows. To be dropped somewhere else in his realm where it could burrow and hide until it's moment of disorientation ended.

Antar lifted his hand and made a small coaxing motion with it towards Ling, though he did not lift his eyes from where he worked tending to his lovely roses. "Light offers sustenance to the plants above, for they are born to reach for it." He paused and raised his hand over some of the small black buds of the rose plant. Very gently, the buds began to lean in the direction of his hand. "In my garden, these things are born to reach for the darkness. Here they gain sustenance from me. I am their sun. Here in my garden is the cradle of my love. Small and hidden, I carefully tend to these things which have become most precious to me."

Ling moved towards Darkness as he motioned for him to approach. He was clam and casually knelt down in the dirt at a respectful distance form the god. His face turned towards him, though his antenna did all the seeing. He listened to and watched as Darkness demonstrated. The words born to reach for darkness resonated with Ling. For as long as he could remember he had always sought out the dark places regardless of his various reasons for doing so. The flowers reaching for Darkness reminded him of how he had done the very same not long ago. Reaching out for the darkness with his offering. He turned his head to look down at the flower buds and gently touched one with the back of his hand. "Darkness' love." His voice a soft whisper, the words more slipping out rather than being directed at anything in particular.
