Roll an Eleven: Canyon Field: The canyon walls towers high towards the ceiling while the ground sinks downwards several levels, making the top and bottom of the field very difficult to see without special equipment. The cliff faces are very steep with little ridge support for grabbing and climbing; on top of that, the rock faces are very damp which makes grabbing and holding on very difficult. A few skinny trees and roots jut out from the cliff and allow smaller, nimbler pokemon to grab and swing around. At the very bottom of the canyon’s long drop is a deep pool of water. Keeping up is difficult for trainers on this particular battlefield, so stadium officials have set up a special view screen on each of the trainer platforms. A mini camera will follow your pokemon around while it battles (of course, it’s programmed to back off when a pokemon does an attack) and the view screen will enable trainers to issue commands to their companions via microphone. This field gives a 25 HP attack boost to FLYING and ROCK type attacks.

Tartarus waved her tail as she appraised the field, her ears held low and her tongue poking out between her teeth. She'd been to the canyon field already and wasn't so keen on nearing its edge again, but she knew she didn't have much of a choice.

With a huff, she dropped down onto the ridge below and waited for her opponent.

Lenore walked into the stadium, Mephistopheles at her side. The duskull floated down to the canyontop below as Lenore laid down.

Seeing the lucario, Mephistopheles bowed. "Greetings. My name is Mephistopheles, but you may call me Mephisto if it suits you. I shall be your opponent for this battle. Good luck."

Electricity crackled along Mephistopheles arm, and he sent the energy arcing towards Tartarus.

Tartarus' ears shot up as soon as she noticed another enter the field, and her lips rose into a half-smile. Finally, someone had come.

Holding her tail aloft, she went to meet the Duskull halfway.

"<Mephisto it is,>" she replied, sidestepping the lance of electricity. She neither gave her own name in return, nor did she return the sentiments, but instead delivered a quick crunch.

Mephistopheles did not need to phase out, for the bite was glancing. Electricity crackled along his arm again, manifesting in a beam aimed for the lucario.

Tartarus wasn't able to dodge this time, but she continued to pursue the Duskull. Her paw glowed black and purple, forming the shape of a large, clawed hand, and she swung it towards her opponent.

Tartarus shook off the blow and slammed her forepaws to the ground. More shadows shot from them, stretching to swipe at Mephisto with spectral claws.
