Eliza had known that this time was coming for a little while now - Velath's hide had been slowly brightening, her interest in showing off for the boys getting more and more pronounced. Yes it would soon be time.
She was not surprised when the green woke up one morning with eyes blazing, she could only thank her stars that the green had held back until their injuries from the battle were mostly healed. 'Elizamine...' Velath began to warn her rider but Eliza mentally cut her off with a flood of confidence. It was fine, it was natural..she should go. And shrieking her challenge to the sleeping dragons of Trine, Velath leapt for the sky.

Set'al had been dreading this moment ever since the influx of refugees from Benden and Malvren; Pipith was already upset about the 'competition' from all the extra males in the abstract, and now that there was a Flight, it was about to get serious. It was a green Flight, at least, not a gold one, but that didn't make much of a difference today. Not only did Pipith have his usual need to win, he had frustrations to vent.
The little bronze was quick to answer Velath's shriek, and took to the sky after her.

A green? A green was rising!
B'ram, B'ram, there is a green! Nachith gushed at his rider, fairly wriggling with excitement when he heard the shriek. Now stop moping around and get dressed!
That was all his rider got before the slender brown leapt into the air with a happy bugle, his eyes whirling purple.

By now Calanoth no longer needed to warn or plead with His to join a flight. Between the two of them it was just assumed that yes, he would fly, and yes, he would win. When Z'fer felt the surge of emotions he was glad for the opportunity to escape from his back breaking labor and search out the Green's rider.
Calanoth's roared his challenge as he surged into the air. A small bronze and even smaller brown were already in the air. Nachith, he recognized from Malvren, this new bronze was relatively unfamiliar though. Either way, neither were large or impressive enough to put worry in the egotistical bronze's mind. Instead his attention remained on the sleek little green who danced in front of them, shrieking her lust to the air.

A bright blue was stretching his wings, and legs, and tail, and neck as a cry filled the air. He looked at it loftily. Mine I am going to fly. His had looked up and caught a glimpse of the dragons taking off. Alright. And that was that. If he wanted to fly and show off for a green that was his choice. She wished him the best of luck and went back to what she was doing, which was oiling a silver flit while the rest of her fair watched.
Kameth wasted no more time. He leaped for the sky with a roar. His broad wings beating powerfully. He was the best blue ever! He dipped and dodged and twirled on wingtip. The blue had only decided to chase because it meant flying.

Zurith had been drowsing slightly in the morning light. Until the green's scream broke it. He lifted his head and observed a moment. Mine I would like to join the flight. His rider was more than content to remain in the shelter of his hut."Go have fun Zurith."
The dark blue dragon didn't wait for a second invite. He knew his backed him. A quick leap saw him up and after the green. Zurith realized there was a large number of dragons chasing her. Several bronzes, a number of browns, and what seemed a plethora of blues. Oh well. He'd try his best.

There had been no question of whether or not Krith was going to fly, his knew him well enough by now that there was no arguements, and the brown had been ready when the green rose.
Have fun.
F'nell could only shake his head as the dark brown dragon took after the rising green. Silly dragon.
The dragon joined the crowd, not concerned with how many others there were. Sure, that might have lessened his chances, but what was the fun of a flight with no competition.

B'nas had been adding some numbweed to some of Milnth's larger wounds when Milnth told him a Green was rising, they were healing but he'd been heavily bitten and raked on his chest and some of them had been very deep, thankfully there was no lasting damage and all it would do in the long run was scar. B'nas had made the Brown stay grounded until he was done with the numbweed, Milnth only relenting because they hurt and he wanted to not hurt if he was going to chase the Green.
As a result he was behind the pack when he finally gave a great bellow and launched himself into the air after the Green, it would be the first time he'd flown a Green since arriving in Trine and B'nas wasn't happy at all but what could he do? ... He just hoped he didn't end up with someone that hated Benden Weyr.

Hekate was down near the lake with Devith, the silver in questioned stretched out on a large flat rock as his rider worked on carefully oiling his hide to gleaming perfection. Mine I itch under my wing~ Devith began as Hekate with an oil soaked cloth began to rub the liquid into the itchy patch of skin at the base of her silver's wing when he was promptly cut off by a scream of a green.
Both dragon and rider nearly leaped out of their skin as Devith stumbled to his feet hissing and Hekate spun looking to the sky at least until she was snatched protectively against a silver chest. Is it another attack!? Where are the bloody cowards! I will show them what it means to trifle with me yet again! The young silver bellowed even as Hekate reached up to pat his head trying to still her own quickly beating heart as her horde of flits whom had been napping peacefully about them awoke schreeching their warnings.
"Look! It's a green flight! There's no attack!" Hekate shouted pointing to the green who had leaped into the sky along with her pursuers.
Gradually Devith's grip on his rider loosened as he eyed the skybound green suspiciously. ENOUGH! He half turned to bark at the flits as they quickly fell silent, Prince and Baron coming to rest on Hekate's shoulder chirruping inquisitively. It could be a trick? Devith warned despite his rider greeting his suspicion with a somewhat approving chuckle.
"If so Pippith and. . .is that Calanoth? Are falling for it head first." Hekate joked pointing out the two familiar figures of the bronzes. Hmph figures they couldn't pass up a flight. "Besides you remember when Lady rose only this green won't clutch. It's all a game of sort I think." Hekate explained as Devith released her and settled back down.
It seems a waste of time, but very well Mine. Let us see whom shall prove the victor. You may resume oiling me. He replied regally a silent smile from Hekate as she obliged knowing all too well he was trying to make up for his startled if not somewhat sweet display.
Keeping half an eye on the sky Hekate worked to finish her dragon's hide. While Devith wished to see the winner, Hekate was more interested in scouting out the dragon's flying skills and possibly their favored moves for later use.

Velath, dipped a wingtip, teasing the chasing males below with a whirling turn, could they not see how quick and agile she was? Certainly a good many of them had come to play and she crooned sweetly to the closest a large bronze that she didn't know. Not that such a thing mattered to Velath - Velath liked pretty much everyone right from the start. Of course that didn't mean she was going to make this easy for them and beating her wings she strove to fly higher.

A'in heard the green and groaned. Not again...Before he knew it though, Troiseth was off. The blue was behind the rest. A decent group chasing this time. You know I need a tail to tweak. Was all the blue gave his rider.

It wasn't the first time a green was rising around them, but it was the first Neptanth wanted to give chase. Saykiromine, she rises! I will chase and prove a blue is just as good as a brown. S'kiro groaned as he rolled over, maybe this time the lust wouldn't hit him as hard, and really at this Sharding hour? I have faith in you. That was all the large blue needed as he leaped into the air after the other blue. Both were behind, but Neptanth had the larger size, to his advantage.

Piptih was furious when he saw the other, larger bronze join the chase. The browns were minorly annoying, and the blues were discounted outright, but the other bronze? That was actual competition! And not even a dragon he recognized, which meant he must be one of the refugees.
He bellowed unhappily, trying to follow Velath as she turned. This was his Weyr, and she would be his green!

Nachith paid little attention to the other males, unconcerned and not about to get fussy at any of them. He didn't even know who this green was, let alone have any feelings for her, so this chase was all about fun and little more. Crooning affectionately, the slim little brown rolled in the air, attempting to catch her attention by showing off for her.

Calanoth let the others play their games, he was a bronze, built for stamina and strength, not fancy acrobatics. Crooning deeply to Velath as she turned past them, angling his wings to follow her. His violet eyes whirled faster as she climbed in altitude. Heavy wingstrokes lifted his body higher, climbing after the playful little green before him.
Pipith's bellow was noted but ignored for now. The other bronze was behind him and therefore nothing to worry about. Instead the only competition he saw currently was the two blue late comers and the small brown.
