What a lovely morning it is, so relaxing... Sarpati gazed out one of the windows from the top of his castle, admiring how the sun painted the land so effortlessly, making everything shine in its full splendor. This sort of sight should be seen by more than just him, he almost felt...guilty for having this magnificent vantage point all to himself. The gray lines filling in the damaged and worn sections of stone in the castle walls, the same gray lines that emanated from his body, pulled him back to reality though. Those that would trust themselves in a castle that was held up by magic were few and far between.
It had its perks for sure, he didn't have to put up with the rude or obnoxious members of society, but was it worth giving up on the rest? He mused a bit to himself, he needed to get out of the castle, especially today. Maybe...a relaxing morning tea at the edge of one of the forests? He knew just the tea set to use, one that had been gathering dust in his collection. His kitchen really needed attention anyway, perhaps he would spend the day cleaning it up once he got back.
Gathering up everything he needed, he boiled a large container of water to take with him, since he had no other means of heating the water. Looping one of the gray tubes through the handle of the water jug, he wove a small tray to carry the tea set, and simply held the tea, cream, and sugar in his hands. Making his way out of the castle, he headed to the forest with the nice view he had seen from his window, leaving the 4 strands of light gray that was his signature behind him as he went.
Upon arriving at the desired location, he placed the tea ingredients on the tea tray, and set about weaving furniture. A decent sized table was first, so he could place the water and tea tray on it, and he fashioned the legs at varying lengths to accommodate the angled terrain. Next was a chair, a nice 'Adirondack' style one to relax in, as some called it. The solitude of his life was irking him especially today though, and he humored himself enough to make a second one, as it would be just as easy to unravel it when he left.
With everything set, he sat down in one of the chairs and made himself a cup of tea, savoring the aroma as he looked over the magnificent countryside. Leaning back in the chair, his gray patterned cloak settled lightly over him, hiding the origins of the two pairs of lines that emerged from the sleeves and pant legs. As a final touch, he channeled a feeling of peace through the lines, watching as their color faded into a soft white, and took a slow sip from his cup. What a beautiful day...

Oh goddess! My side’s on fire! Lupus leaped up and swatted at his sides. It was early morning and he was a bit groggy so it took him a few minutes of jumping around and hitting himself to realize that he wasn’t actually on fire. Hmm…I must have fallen asleep. Lupus could remember running around, enjoying the light of the full moon on his skin, and playing with his shadowy friends. But now it was day, his friends left him to hide from the sun. Yawning and stretching, he looked around at his environment. During the night, he becomes filled with this, childlike nature. He runs about without worry knowing his parents are watching over him. When the sunrises he becomes lonely and spends his time moping about until the night comes again. Today he woke up in a forest. The sun shone between the leaves and branches creating patterns that danced in time with the breeze. The breeze felt nice, the sun…not so much. His dark hair, fur, and clothes soaked up the heat like a sponge making him uncomfortable and easily irritated. ”Try a cup of coffee, that always wakes me up.” Kitsune had suggested this a while ago and he’d lived by it ever since. No coffee equals one unhappy Lupus. Being in a forest in what seemed to be in the middle of nowhere wasn’t going to help, so he started walking. Lupus’ sense of direction sucks, which gets him into some, often, bad situations. The confrontations usually lead to broken noses, which lead to phone calls that eventually bring him home, but the day usually ends with a talk about why punching people in the face is bad. Then he goes to his room, changes his clothes, and starts the cycle all over again. There’s gotta be coffee somewhere. Lifting his head, he took a deep breath and sniffed the air. The breeze was still so he waited a moment and tried again. This time he could smell the wet earth, trees, different animals, another person a few miles off, and tea. Tea? He stroked his chin. The last time he smelled tea, he followed it and found a coffee shop nearby. Automatic assumption: where there’s tea, there is also coffee. He brightened slightly at that thought and headed toward the scent, but was still very tired and was having a little trouble keeping his footing over the rocks, roots, and uneven ground. I wish I would pay attention to where I go at night. If I did, I could get home faster and spend the day sleeping instead of wandering about. The aroma of tea continued to get stronger as he got closer and closer. Leaning against the strong trunk of a tree, he paused to catch his breath. Lupus took this chance to straighten himself out. He ran his fingers through his hair, tugged at his gloves to make sure they were on tight, and dusted off his pants and jacket. Turning the corner he found a strange sight. A man sat, clad in grey, on a white woven chair next to a table set with tea, cream, and sugar. The table and another empty chair were also woven from what seemed to be the same material. Glancing around, he saw no one else, nor any buildings nearby. How did he carry all this stuff out here? The back of his neck started to itch, so he moved a few steps to get out of the sun. Maybe he was waiting for someone… ”Excuse me, but what are you doing out here?

Maybe it was just his imagination, but this tea was absolutely splendid! Sarpati wondered to himself if perhaps the scenery somehow added to the flavor? Either way he had already gone through one cup and had made another, holding the fresh cup and saucer as he took in the view. The tea set came with 4 cups, but the other three were turned over on their saucers of course. He wasn't crazy, he knew he was alone out here, like always.
Though he heard Lupus' approach, he dismissed it as woodland creatures and kept staring out into the fields and valleys. He was rather lucky to have picked a castle in such a location, far enough away from civilization to have such beauty all around him. Few seemed to know about the castle, and if they did he never had any trouble from them, perhaps the rebuilt portions made them nervous or something?
Sarpati was snapped out of his dreary thoughts when Lupus spoke, though he almost dismissed it as his imagination playing games with him. Still holding the cup and saucer, he turned to find the source, easily spotting the black-clad figure against the bright forest colors. It was a...someone else was out here? But... He glanced over at the 2nd chair he had woven. Could this be fate perhaps? His ears betrayed the mix of emotions running through his head as he stared at the newcomer, but finally he calmed down and placed the saucer on the table, standing to greet the stranger.
"My apologies good sir, I didn't realize I had company. As for what I'm doing, I merely thought it was a good morning for some tea overlooking the countryside is all." The gray patterned cloak concealed everything below his neck, though if one were to look close enough, they might noticed the 4 --now white-- lines trailing out from underneath it. The source was still ambiguous, however, and there was no other indication from his outward appearance that they came from Sarpati himself.
This...had to be fate, right? Why else would someone be out here? Perhaps this was someone who wouldn't be afraid of him, perhaps even...a friend? He tried not to get too worked up over the idea, but he couldn't ignore it either. The odds that this was just random chance were...slim. Standing there like a dolt wasn't going to get him anywhere though, and he slid a hand from beneath his cloak, offering it to the stranger. "My name is Sarpati, who might you be?"

Countryside? How far out of town did I go? Lupus looked around large grassy field and tried to imagine it cloaked in darkness, with nothing but the moon and stars to create shadows and darkness that jumped and hid behind every blade of grass and tree. ”It is beautiful…” It made sense that he would come here, but he still was trying to figure out how he got here. A movement in front of him jerked him from his thoughts. He considered punching the guy in the face to get him to back up, but paused before he even started to curl his fingers. This person wanted to shake his hand. Lupus’ ear twitched, as if trying to chase away a biting fly. Should he take it? If he did, he’d have a better chance at getting Sarpati, as he called himself, to help him get home. Verses, if he punched him in the nose.
”Lupus,” he pulled his hand from his pocket and took Sarpati’s. Lupus almost let go when he noticed the strange thing coming from his sleeve. He tightened his grip and pulled back Sapi’s sleeve with his free hand. ”What is this?” His ears pulled back, and his tail leapt from side to side. ”You’re not normal. You’re not like the others. What are you?” He watched and looked at him more closely. His style of clothes weren’t as modern as other’s he’d seen. As he thought about it, the situation seemed more and more suspicious. What were the chances of him waking up out in the middle of nowhere with someone within a few miles of him? Someone with weird strings coming out of his sleeves, old styled clothes, a full table and chairs set, hot tea, and no place to boil water.
Lupus shifted from foot to foot, refusing to let go until he was answered. He wasn’t sure if this person could harm him, but he wasn’t easily deterred. He wished it was night, then, at least, he would be able to defend himself properly. His grip was strong, but nowhere near what his could accomplish at night. The lack of caffeine in his system made him want to pass out in the comfortable looking chair, but he tried not to think about it. If he showed any signs of weakness, Sarpati might take advantage of him and get away, and he still didn’t know if this guy was hiding some coffee someplace, so he knew he couldn’t give up now.

Well, I guess that's a 'no' for a fated meeting... Sarpati looked down at the hands that were restraining his arm, a little puzzled. Usually people were either frightened or intrigued, he couldn't think of the last time someone had...well, been aggressive towards him upon discovering his secret. Interesting...
"No, most would not consider me normal. As for what I am, I am an eccentric gentleman who was just a moment ago enjoying tea by himself on this fine day. What does that make you, Lupus?" Sarpati looked back up at the interloper as he spoke, calm in his words, though his brow quirked slightly. He didn't seem worried or frightened by the stranger, though it wasn't clear from the outside exactly why that might be.
Sarpati glanced back over his shoulder at his woven table, he was missing out on his most delicious cup of tea while Lupus was holding him in place. What a shame, I wonder how cold it will be by the time I get back to enjoying it...

Lupus relaxed his grip and retreated a few steps. ”Not that it’s any of your business, but I’m a bit confused. How did you get these chairs and this table all the way out here, alone?” He walked around to better examine the furniture. It didn’t feel like normal woven furniture, it was much neater, nothing a machine could do. ”Did you do this?” He gestured to the woven materials. Upon closer examination, he realized they looked exactly like the stuff coming from his arms. Why two chairs? Was he expecting me? He didn’t seem very surprised when I showed up…

Sarpati shook his head and chuckled lightly, if he had a stone for every time someone had said they were confused in regards to his power, he would... Well, he already had a castle, but still. Turning to watch Lupus examine his handiwork, he shifted slightly, tucking the lines within his cloak as best he could. He knew not everyone would understand what he was or could do, so best to keep confrontations like these to a minimum. Or something like that, did it really matter at this point? Lupus didn't seem curious about the origin of the lines so much as his table and chairs, which were good, but not his finest work by far.
"This is where the 'not normal' part would come in, you see. I made them." Sarpati stated this calmly, with a tiny hint of pride in his work. The chairs were nice of course, as he didn't make that design very often, but they were still not anything spectacular. With Lupus no longer restraining him, he took his seat once more, sipping at the still pleasantly warm tea, basking in the delicious flavor. Such a nice day...

He rolled his eyes and glanced up at Sarpati. "Just because you wove a chair doesn’t make you not normal." Lupus watched closely as Sarpati returned to his chair. His ear twitched as the stranger enjoyed his tea, I guess it couldn’t hurt to hang around a bit longer… He tried to swallow, but his throat and mouth were very dry. But whatever happens I’m not drinking tea…that’s for sissies. Lupus’ eye twitched and he shook himself. He found that he was more easily irritable during the day, even if no one had provoked him, and he found it easier to control his quick temper with a little caffeine in his veins. Taking a deep breath he flopped into the armchair, glad that it didn't collapse underneath his weight. I guess if this guy has something for me to drink, it won’t be a total waste of my time. Arching his back, trying to relax the sudden tension in his shoulders, he asked, "So…got any coffee?"

He simply shrugged, no point going into detail about why being able to weave furniture, essentially out of nothing, easily fell into the 'not normal' category. Sarpati figured that Lupus would either understand, or he wouldn't, and he wasn't in the mood to do anything about it. There was tea to be had, and the countryside to enjoy. If only he could spend every day like this. ...Oh, right. He already did.
Looking over his tea cup, he closed his eyes contently, letting the warmth permeate through him. So good. Ears twitching slightly at Lupus' question, he looked over the table at his now seated guest. "No. I wasn't really expecting company, despite appearances, and I only brought tea for myself. You're welcome to have some though, if you'd like, I have plenty to go around." He smiled a bit, though not quite at Lupus, maybe this would turn around after all? The darker fox wasn't really what he'd expect out of a friendly person, but he seemed to have calmed down from their initial encounter.

Lupus twitched, why did this guy tick him off so much? He watched him out of the corner of his eye. He looked like one of those pompous professors out of a movie. This guy got dressed up just so he could sit out in the middle of nowhere and drink tea. Foul smelling tea at that. And it never crossed his mind that someone might just happen upon his solo party and want a cup of coffee. The last straw was that he would bring 'plenty to go around' even though he thought no one would be coming. He pursed his lips and rose a bit stiffly from the chair. The pain between his shoulder blades didn't ease his annoyance.
"You know what...?" He rolled his head from side to side, but the pain only worsened. No coffee and a horrible pain in my back. This is gonna be a great day... He leaned forward and rested both his hands on the table, gripping it hard, "I think I'll skip the tea and take my leave." Lupus rocked back on his heels and threw the table up, scattering all its contents. "Thanks for nothing!" Turning away, he began sulking back into the forest to find his way to home and coffee.

Taking another sip of his tea, Sarpati didn't really pay attention to the other fox. He had offered to share his tea, and there was no point in pestering him to do so. Lupus would accept, he would decline, or perhaps just...sit there for all Sarpati knew. His ears twitched a bit as he set the tea cup back on the saucer, sensing the dark fox standing up, and tilted his gaze at the open ended question. Not that he was going to attempt an answer, of course. He had just met the fellow, he couldn't be expected to understand what was going on in the other's head.
Sarpati glanced over at Lupus, about to send him off with a friendly farewell, instead watching as the table was overturned, sending his own tea set flying. Quirking an eyebrow, he waved a hand over the flying items, his lines leaping to the rescue, catching everything before it touched the ground. Most of the tea was caught, but he wasn't as concerned about it. Waving his hand towards the ruffian, he ended Lupus' escape attempt, his lines easily restraining the male.
Sarpati set his tea on a new tray that hovered off to the side, sighing in what might have been irritation as he stood up from his comfortable position. Turning the tied up male to face the upset tea setting, Sarpati simply crossed his arms, not bothering to hide the suspended tea setting, his expression not giving much indication of any emotions. "That was rather rude, young one. I don't stumble upon your morning coffee and throw a tantrum, do I?"
