Alright. I wish I was making this up.

I was directed to a blog instructing women on how to perform self-abortions.

Apparently, only 1 out of 13,000 people died when...well, here, read for yourself.

For the women of South Dakota: an abortion manual
I understand that you're probably really angry right now. Maybe you're reading a blog expressing that anger -- the anger that your state thinks it knows better than you what to do with your body. Maybe you're anxiously wondering where the nearest abortion clinic is, now that you will have to leave the state to get to one. If you have a serious medical condition, you might be doubling up on birth control methods, leading to a lot of worry and possibly negative side effects.

But what you need right now isn't the righteous anger the rest of the blogosphere will give you. You need more.

In the 1960s and early 1970s, when abortions were illegal in many places and expensive to get, an organization called Jane stepped up to the plate in the Chicago area. Jane initially hired an abortion doctor, but later they did the abortions themselves. They lost only one patient in 13,000 -- a lower death rate than that of giving live birth. The biggest obstacle they had, though, was the fact that until years into the operation, they thought of abortion as something only a doctor could do, something only the most trained specialist could perform without endangering the life of the woman.

They were deceived -- much like you have probably been deceived. An abortion, especially for an early pregnancy, is a relatively easy procedure to perform. And while I know, women of South Dakota, that you never asked for this, now is the time to learn how it is done. There is no reason you should be beholden to doctors -- especially in a state where doctors have been refusing to perform them, forcing the state's only abortion clinic to fly doctors in from elsewhere.

No textbooks or guides existed at that time to help them, and the equipment was hard to find. This is no longer true. For under $2000, any person with the inclination to learn could create a fully functioning abortion setup allowing for both vacuum aspiration and dilation/curettage abortions. If you are careful and diligent, and have a good grasp of a woman's anatomy you will not put anyone's health or life in danger, even if you have not seen one of these procedures performed.

Today, I will discuss dilation and curettage -- what used to be the most common abortion procedure before vacuum aspiration took its place. Vacuum aspiration is an easier method, but sometimes remaining fetal/placental material necessitates doing a "cleanup" D&C anyway, so you should know how to do this procedure first.

DISCLAIMER: I am posting this as information only. Whether anyone chooses to act upon this information is their own concern. I believe in the free exchange of information and ideas. I believe this information has been kept from women for too long, and there is no reason they should not know about a procedure being performed on their own body, and no reason women should be kept in the dark about how to perform it -- especially if someone they know is having their health jeopardized by this law.

It continues. Is anyone else horrified by this? Promoting abortions performed by untrained people is supposed to be safe?

Does she just want women to die so that people will see that, "thousands of women die from illegal abortions," and the abortion bans will be lifted?

IN other words, it called How to Preform and Illigle ABortion, but not in so many words. Its an agenda to kill as many woman as possible in order to say, "See, this is why abortion shoudl be legal"

*Sigh* its depressing...so so depressing. Well, ones thing is for sure, if som eone dies form this, the woman who poste dit will be charged with murder as well as trainign people in a procedure that could kill some one, regardless of her disclaimer.

you should forward this information to the law enforcement of south dakota, inform them, so they will be able to see this and hopefully protect against it.

That is really messed up. And, of course, the Pro-Choicers will say, "Well, you see what women are driven to when it's illegal?"

Of course, they don't consider the fact that we have added in the complication of -ever- having it legal. stare Because women are taught that it is a necessary and absolutely important right, and they start to believe that, that makes illegal abortions more common right there.

It really is sickening...

yes, an abortion really isn't vital- if one would willingly throw away their life just to end a new one, i'd say let them- well, try to stop them, at least. but i don't really have sympathy for their death

My right to kill my child is vital. Nevermind the fact that my partner and I willingly had sex and knew it could result in pregnancy, thus causing a life to come into being and abortion is ending it just because we messed up and had sex at the wrong time. I want to kill my children because I have control over my DNA, my body, someone else's body, and my partner's reproductive rights.

That is sick... I wish it was just a joke. You could do what Seraph said and send this to that one place where they might be able to get rid of it, if you can, but I don't know how you can. whee

To be honesty, this might sound mean but if they choose to get one, expecailly illegally and they die then that's their own fault. They were warned and they knew that is was a possibly that they can die while trying to kill their own child. Much safer just to suck it up and deal with the responabity and give birth, don't want it? Well that's what adoption is for.

If they can't face the fact that pregnancy is a possiblity when having sexs then I don't think their ready and should have sex. Even if their careful (though it's rare) it can still happen.

I know what you mean, but what I don't like about this is that it markets the procedure as being safe. They don't mention that puncturing the uterus could be fatal, they only say to use a little force when scraping to make sure you get everything. They use that 1/13,000 statistic to assure women, "This is safe." It's not exactly safe, so why is it being marketed as such?

People are ******** dumb.

That's all there is to it. I mean telling them to take certain herbs and stuff is bad enough, but this just crosses the line.

"We really care about women. Instead of fighting to get the safe option back, let's just be like complete idiot extremists and go to the unsafe-attention-whoring option and show those lifers who's boss! Hey, more sex for us!"

Ahh yes, the sound of the Left roaring in my ear. If you want to open up illegal clinics, go right ahead. Although, latest issue of New York says Meth Labs are more tax-deductible, in the future.

You know what annoys me most? On that page, the comments aren't just a few supporting and most against out of concern for the mother's health. In fact, the Pro-Choicers who are against it because it is dangerous are in the minority among the commenters.

Endangering the lives of thousands of women is a small price to pay to push an agenda I suppose.
