Javelin/Discus Dice Game (highest roll)

1) Each person may roll a 100 sided die three times. You can roll them one after another all at once or you can wait in between the rolls, whichever you prefer.

2) Do you own more then one knight in the shop? You may do the 3 rolls for EACH of your characters. Just make sure you do them in order.
Aka - Roll all three rolls for one character, and then roll for the next character. No mixing and matching

3) This game will run from Aug 25th - 28th, whatever character has the highest score in the end will be the winner.

4) In the event of a tie, there will be a tiebreaker roll prompted by the mods.

5) If you'd like to play with your character and post rp snippets with your rolls you are more then welcome to.
You may also post a solo post by itself after all your rolls if you want.
You are NOT required to post anything at all though if you do not want to.

6) Anyone caught deleting posts to re roll will face consequences. If you mess up somehow just write VOID in that post and post again.
Do Not delete anything, we can tell via guild logs.

Javelin and Discus
The morning air was crisp on Al Minliar al Asad, one of the three stars hosting this year's events. The javelin toss and Discus throws had always been some of the first competitions to run during the Olympic games, and they always drew a fair crowd.

The game seemed simple enough, heave the projectiles as far as possible with all your strength, but it wasn't simply a game of brutes. Aim, trying to keep the javelin straight and true, the angle of the throw, and wind speed to name a few. There were many things that made this deceptively simple looking game actually worthy of it's slot in the Olympics, and left it open as anyone's game to win.

One by one the competing knights would be called forward and make their throws across the large and pristine field. Marks of chalk would tell the score and in the end only those with the furthest throws would find metal around their necks.

Alright, I'm WAY too tired to keep staying up for midnight sooo.. you guys get the benefit of an extra hour or so on this game. XD Have fun!!

((Rolling all at once for Bimini))

If it were up to Bimini he wouldn't really be competing in any of these games. Practically all of them were so.. well he didn't even have words for what it was. They were brutish, or dirty, or just took WAY more energy then he could ever muster up the drive to strive for. But he did have a princess that he was supposed to be playing for, and she was actually here WATCHING so.. the sometimes lax squire couldn't just not show up to any of the games.

He'd just have to sneak in his REAL joys and reason for being here in between the games. Dig up some extra business for 'The Fountain of youth', flirt with some handsome athletes, and maybe even have some fantastic Olympics fling on the paradise like home world he was staying at while competing. Yes his schedule was full.

Picking up the javelin (because that seemed far lighter and less likely to murder his manicure) Bimini tested the weight with a soft frown. Why was this even a game? Throwing stuff really far? How very juvenile.

Oh well. Here he went. Stepping up to the line he drew his arm back, squinting into the distance. He needed to get it past a certain line and the more he stared.. the more the line began to blur, until he could almost swear he saw something.. or rather someone. The smirk that touched his face was almost vicious. Certainly vindictive.

So you thought I looked fat in my designer pants hmm? So you thought it was a good idea to run off with that trampy Neptunian boy hmm? Glaring at the imaginary visage of his ex ever tiny (and not so tiny) infraction came pouring through his mind. And just like the scissors that had ACTUALLY been thrown at Ramone in their final fight Mikael let loose the javelin, watching as the sharpened pole skewered both the imaginary vision and the ground in the distance.

"Ha!" His fists clenched momentarily with delight and success, before he relaxed again, running a hand through his hair. There was a legitimate strut as he left the field, and it had nothing to do with the fact that he'd actually done pretty well in the competition.

Iseult of Earth was tiny. The petite Page just was not built for these things. She frowned, eyeing the discus and the javelin, and considered. Neither would be particularly good for her, and she was half-sure she would accidentally hurt someone and bring utter and absolute shame to her planet and her Knight-master and everyone.

Well. Nothing to do but try, right? And she just had to try, in every game, because if she didn't try she'd never succeed! Even if she just knew it wouldn't go well.

She bit her lip, picked up a javelin, and tested its weight and balance. There was nothing to inspire the pale, white-haired Page other than her own enthusiasm and desire to impress everyone with how utterly awesome Earth was, but she hefted and threw anyway.

Well, it wasn't a TOTAL disaster, at least! She'd managed to send the javelin pretty far! Not quite as far as the boy before her, but she'd actually done something well! She bounced off the field, proud of herself even if she didn't think she'd win any medals in this one.

Rolling all at once for Elis, disposable page of Jupiter!

-----------------------------------------------------------

In Elis’s experience, when people thought of Jupiter and its knights, the image of tall, broad, muscular (or portly) bearded men and similarly handsome women tended to come to mind. Many of them were known to be quite jovial (they were the Jovians after all, pun entirely intended), but also fiercely (or stupidly) brave and amazingly strong. They were the charming, fun-loving brutes of the galaxy, ready to kick a** when needed but happy to party in the meantime.

Of course, like all groups, there were those that didn’t exactly fit the mold. Elis had already squared in on a few of his more serious companions (Valhalla was terribly intimidating when he frowned, and he did so frequently), and he took to carefully observing them in their downtime to pick out which traits they may or may not possess that made them decidedly Jovian.

Elis did not know if he should be happy or discouraged to admit that he was not a typical page of Jupiter. He was tall enough, he supposed, as he was able to look most of them in the eye without tilting his head far back, but no amount of feasting seemed to be enough to help fill out his skinny frame, with the result that he still looked rather runty. Most embarrassing of all… he didn’t even have a beard yet—nothing more than a couple of short whiskers on his chin that he could hardly ever see, and a small bit of barely there fuzz above his upper lip, which had yet to grow in all the way and which seemed quite determined to take its time.

But Elis did have spirit. He had an incredible amount of zeal—not much in the way of confidence, but certainly a lot of determination, the resolve to push himself, to be better, to work hard until there came a day when he finally looked the part. He wanted to show that he was worthy, that he fit the Jovian colors, that he could make his princess proud and earn the respect (maybe even the admiration?) of his various counterparts.

For now, that dream seemed rather far off, but he looked at these Olympic games as the first step toward making it real.

The javelin toss and the discus throw probably seemed like the events that were the most ill-suited to him. He was not as strong as some of his competition and he was rather quite clumsy most of the time. Elis looked around at the other competitors and felt incredibly nervous, watching their throws and hoping to emulate their technique. Besides, he had heart, which some people said was a power in its own right.

When it was Elis’s turn to throw, the page swallowed deeply and straightened his shoulders as he ambled forward. He doubted he looked at all impressive, but he thought he might have at least appeared to know what he was doing. He didn’t, of course. Not really. He knew only as much as he had been able to observe and would learn the rest from practice.

Elis gripped the javelin as he stared down the field. He took a deep, steadying breath and did his best to ignore the others waiting their turn. ‘Don’t trip,’ he kept telling himself. ‘Do this for the princess! Do this for yourself!’

The javelin, when he released it (without any whooping or shouting this time), sailed through the air and impaled itself into the ground some distance away.

It hadn’t gone as far as some of the others. It had, however, outstripped a few as well, and that was certainly enough for Elis. It likely wouldn’t win him anything, but he saw a fair bit of success in the effort.

At least he didn’t come out of it looking like a complete and utter fool.

This was an event that was better left to the knights loyal to the Princess of Uranus. It was a sport which was suited to the air and winds which were favored by the desert world.

Despite such a theory in regards to the javelin, the teal-haired man stepped up to his mark. He picked up one of the javelins and seemed to test the weight of the object in his arms. It wasn't drastically heavy, but it had enough weight to potentially cause damage if some reckless dolt ran across the field as he was throwing. Fortunately, he wasn't the sort to pick up a spear and throw it at his enemies.

The man stood there, taking in a few deep breaths, as if he was trying to focus on the task at hand. He was definitely not experienced with this sort of physical challenge. As he inhaled and exhaled, the man silently prayed.

Ocean winds of Neptune, please make this javelin fly.

With one last cleansing breath in his lungs, the man went through the motions and released his momentary tool so it would soar through the air.

Perhaps the planet of Neptune had honed into the man's simple prayer, or perhaps it was just a fluke, but the object soared further than many of the others had prior. When it finally assaulted the ground, sticking out firmly, the man released his held breath.

"...this will be close..."

It wasn't something he'd normally go and do, throw around something with a long pointy end, but it was a sport and it seemed easy enough. I mean how hard was it to throw something across a field? It really hadn't seemed hard, that was until he realized it had to go quite a distance and stick into the ground. Well, the sticking into the ground thing wasn't hard; it was a simple game of angels and such. The distance however...that would be an issue for Alkanet.

Stepping up to the javelins picked up one of the long shafts. Bouncing it in his hold he couldn't help but notice the thing seemed to have a lot of give; spring. It had some weight to it but seemed well balanced, a good thing. Finally he pulled his arm back as he readied himself.

"I hope no one runs onto the field..." Oh how he hoped. He didn't want to see what would happen if this struck someone. And he finally threw the javelin and released it, hoping he would get some distance.
