~~The Method~~

This a method that I would like to be used in each battle, or any other type of fight. However, this Method will not suit everyone, so I understand if you do not wish to use it.

The method is, when you hit or attack or parry that you roll a die (Roll Dice is in Post Action) with a setting to 1-10. If you're attacking and defending, use two dice. Or, use two whenever you are doing two different things at once. If three different things, use three dice.

Attacking your opponent!

If you have a number higher then 5, then your attack was a hit. If the number is below 5, then no hit simply a miss or the other dodged. If your number is higher then 7, the attack was rather powerful. If you have a total 10, it knocks out the one you attacked temporarily. (This does not apply if one of the players in the battle refuses to use method) If you attack more then twice and each is higher then 7 or 6 then your character starts to tire so -1 next attack. If you've fought and attacked with five attacks then -2.

Defending against your opponent!

If you are defending, then vice versa. Higher then 5, you defended the attack normally. If the attack is higher then 7 and your number is lower then you didn't defend very well. If your defending is a total 10, then you defended perfectly and automatically have a free hit to your attacker with the power of 6 which is a basic attack. (This does not apply if one of the players in the battle refuses to use method) If your character has deflected attacks higher then 7-10 twice then you start to tire and have to apply -1 for next defense. If you've fought and deflected from five attacks in a row then -2.

You when parry an attack!

Parry: Parry is when you deflect an attack and reverse it where you attack instead.

If you parry against an attack, and you roll the dice then you have to half your score. If it's an even score, then each half will be the same. Odd score, instead of cutting your score in half, you have to use two numbers that equal that number. Like, if you rolled a '5' you would use '3' + '2' as your two numbers. Once you have your score into two numbers, you must pick which number does what. Does the number power your attack, or how strongly you deflected the attack?

If the number you are using to deflect is low, then you still deflect...just, not that well. If it's lower then 2, then the attack still affects you. If it's higher then 2, then you have deflected it just fine. If the number you are using to deflect is high, then it will add to your attack. If it's 3-6, you receive a +2 for your attack score; 7-8 is +3 while 9-10 is +1. This way, it will help your character really parry successfully.

If you use the number to power your attack, make sure to look at the number you're using to parry! Above states bonuses you may add to your attack score. Now, when it comes to the number you're using for attack just use the same rules as when you're attacking. (5 it's normal, 7 it's powerful, 10 it's super powerful )

Pay attention to bonuses! It can and will help you!

If you have an attack or defense or parry higher then 5 three times in a row: +1.

If you have rolled lower then five three times: +2 on your next attack, defense, or parry.

The element of surprise is +1. If your character is unaware of another character, then automatically it's a surprise attack. If your character did not expect the attack, that is also a surprise to that character.

Wounds...that's right, you're wounded and now it affects your score!

It all depends on the way you're attacking and defending how your character is affected. If you're being attacked by a sword, there's the danger of being sliced. If you're being attacked with an object with no sharp edge, then there's the danger of impact. If you're defending with your arm, there's the chance your arm will get affected. So: pay attention to weapons. If someone attacks with a five, and your defense is too low to defend, then you failed at defending and is attacked. If it's a blade, you're cut. If it's an object or punch or kick, then the impact affects you. Edit your rp post to go with the weapon. Try to judge the damage of an attack with the number the attack has. If your character is wounded because of a high attack, then they are wounded. Each character has a tolerence, though, so I'm going to say: if you're attacked twice in a row with a 7 attack, -1 if both attacks were higher then both your defenses. If you're character is heavily wounded (loss of blood) -3. If the character is really wounded to the point of fainting, -4. And if your character is really really realllly hurt but not going to give up, you still have to -5 now thanks to previous blood loss. Judge an attack with weapons though, and think of how much it can damage your character.

For all of you who do not want to use 'The Method'!!

You do not have to! But, if you are to fight in the future, you can not god-mod and auto-hit.

For all who are using 'The Method'!!!

Pay attention to who are fighting! Check their profile if they are using 'The Method' or not! If your character's opponent player does not use Method, then most of your bonuses will not apply. But, you can still use Method if you wish, just don't pressure the other player to use it with you if they don't want to.

The Following Posts are examples!!!

Just in case you are still confused and wish to see examples of everything listed, I and a crew member will now post several examples. Pay attention to how we rp each score, and how we also pay attention to each other.

Now, welcome shabatha into the topic! Hello Shabatha, and thanks for doing this with me as examples to everyone else. We're going to show how to do multiple things, but I'd like for us to start with the basics. As for the rp involved, just use any character of your choice, okay?

Can you please post rolling an attack score and attacking my character? I will rp my knight in return. Keep in mind that there does not have to be a reason you're attacking her, but you may include one if you wish.

For everyone reading this battle, this battle does not occur in the rp nor any rp! This battle is strictly for your benefit!

Hello Roses! And thank you for inviting me to help show how to use the "Method" As you have described so nicely. Your welcome. I shall use the princess of whom i was given permission to be but got lost. And here we go.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The princess of whose name shall not be named became enamored with the courage of the Knight. And to prove to her imbecilic father that she wasn't just another one of those princesses who sat around eating biscuits and drinking tea, she decided to plan an attack on the Knight.

She waited until the perfect moment to draw her sword and try to backlash the Knight.

((How was that?))

(Very good Shabatha, thank you.)

(Now, I want everyone to look at Shab's rp and score. She has rolled a 4, but her character in rp is surprise attacking my character. This counts as a surprise attack, and she receives a +1 on her score. This changes her 4 into 5, and now her character has a decent attack.)

(Before I rp, or actually post, I "roll" my dice. My character will defend against her attack, and attack her back....therefore, I will use two dies instead of one. To "roll" I click 'Post Action' and choose 'Roll Dice'. I'm using 'The Method' so my dice will be 10-sided, which I choose as well. I post rolling my dice before actually rping anything!

I then look at my score, my score is 2,7. From here, I consider each score and edit my post. I must decide which score will be my attack score and which score will be my defense)

The Knight was in the training grounds of the castle, already sword drawn and practicing the technique of the sword. The Knight did not expect an attack, distracted by training. And, the Knight certainly didn't expect the princess to attack! "Princess?" The Knight utters in surprise, defending against her attack.

As the princess's sword clashed against the Knight's sword, the Knight grunts. "I warn you, princess, if we are to continue...I will not hold back!!" The Knight says, warning the princess of what she was getting into. And to further that warning, the Knight attacks! Yet, holds back to not injure her.

(Look at how I rped this...see how my character is surprised. Because, my character is surprised. My character also responds to her, as I rp the Knight accordingly. I have the Knight question her, but accept her challenge.)

(Now, consider how I use my scores. I rped my Knight defending against her attack, but mention that my attack is weak since the Knight is 'holding back'. I used my 8 for defense and 2 for my attack. I chose this because I wanted my character to defend against the attack rather well, so I had my 2 leftover for my attack. )

(Shabatha will now have her character defend against my character's attack)

((OOOOO nine smile ))

The princess artfully dodges the attack even if she has had no previous training before. "I'm just trying to prove a point" She says innocently as she sheathes her sword again.

(Lol, indeed, A nine is quite good xD)

(Now, I want everyone to look at Shab's score. Her character is defending against mine, therefore she uses one die. Before she rps, too, she posts first to see what her score is and edits after.)

(Notice that her score is 9, an excellent defense. Remember that previously mentioned, 7 and higher on a defend score means that the character powerfully defends against the attack. Shabatha has rped that her character "artfully" defends, in this case. Which hints how well she defended. Very nice, Shab.)

The Knight watches as the princess dodges so well, and almost chuckles towards her words. "A point, Miss?" The Knight says aloud, questioning her.

Although, the Knight already assumed what she meant. She was a princess, after all. She wished to prove her own power, and fight against one of the Knights to prove it. Meaning, she wasn't going to quit just yet. Underneath the Knight's helmet, a hidden smirk emerged. "If so, Princess, you must do better then that." The Knight challenges, now in a fighting stance to prepare for her next attack.

(Look at how there's no roll. Why? It's because my character did not attack or parry or defend. I wanted my character to respond, and so only rped this post. For you see, not every post within a battle has to be constant fighting. )

(See how I rped as well...how my Knight is amused and now encourages Shab's character to do "better". This is just to be playful though, the Knight is by no means to call her weak.)

(Continue Shabatha ^~^)

((Hmm Ladies and Gentlemen, it seems that nines are just my lucky number today))

The princess smiled and nodded her acceptance to the challenge. She drew her sword and backed down into what could be considered a princess' fighting stance and took a step forward to swing her sword into the grand Knight's abdomen. Not wishing to hurt him but still hoping to prove her point. If she were able to conquer one of her fathers best Knights. The Knight, maybe he would treat her differently.

(Same as before, I post rolling before actually doing any rp. I want to parry, but that's all I want to do. So, one thing = one die. I roll my one die after choosing ten-sided...then post to see my result.)

(Look at how my score is 9; which is a large coincidence since Shab's score was 9 too (lol) Now, I want to parry, as I mentioned before. When I parry, I have to split up my score and decide which number will power my attack or deflect their attack. )

(In this case, I have a 9. That being an odd number, I will use two numbers that add up to nine. I'll use '5+4' because that equals 9. But! I could also use '6+3' because those two numbers equal 9 as well! For this one, I'll pick '5+4')

(Now, I look towards all the bonuses that go into parry. I want 5 to go into deflecting, and I want 4 to go into powering my attack. But! As mentioned in the "Parry" section, if I use a score that's 4-6 for deflecting, I receive +2 on my attack score.

(After I add everything up, I know how to rp this. My deflect will be 5, which successfully deflects thanks to it being higher then 2. My attack power was 4, but since I used 5 for deflecting I get +2 on it, so now my attack is 6. In conclusion, my character has deflected her attack and attacked a decent attack in return. )

The Knight laughed as she aimed towards every man's weakness, moving to deflect her attack. "To go directly to the weak spot is "slippery", my Princess." He says as a warning, and twirls the blade where the Knights parries an attack in return. The blade not aimed towards any particular area, as the Knight simply attacked.

(Please know, you do not have to use the words 'deflect' or 'parry' when you character parries ^ -^)

The princess shrugged slightly as she blocked the blow with her own sword and struck weakly back. "I did not necessarily aim for that area. I am not that despicable." She replied as her weak hit started torwads him.
