When the goddess Artemis lost Orion to the giant Scorpion, she thought love was merely an unattainable dream. Little did she know there was one who cherished her above all else.
Britomartis cared about Artemis more than anything else within the realm, and when Artemis experienced her grief, she stayed by Artemis’ side, comforting her and trying to ease her pain. Over time the pain Artemis felt was replaced with a fondness for Britomartis, seeing how much the goddess was so caring of her. She was afraid however, on how the other goddess would react to her feelings, not knowing that Britomartis herself loved Artemis dearly.
Throughout this trepid dance of emotions, Aphrodite, the goddess of love, watched over the two goddesses, and wanted nothing more than for them to admit their feelings for each other. Thus she devised a plan to bring the two together at a wonderful event, where they could once and for all look upon each other and be able to express everything that was within their hearts.
Using her powers, Aphrodite created a place for the two to be together, and that welcomed others to celebrate these feelings. It would be a place where everyone could enjoy themselves and be at ease, without interference from the outside world. However, as much as Aphrodite wanted it all to last forever, her time in the human realm was limited. In order to continue on with her duties, she could only give this happiness one week out of the year.

You walk down a stone path through a forest, guided by the faint glow of the fireflys floating about. The invitation you had received told you a grand masquerade ball would be held somewhere near here.
As you look to it again the little lights you had been following dissapear, leaving you in darkness. Before fear can overtake you however, you see a stream of silver light stream through the bushes. As you approach them, they easily give way, almost as if they've been expecting you, and you look upon a large clearing big enough to hold many people, surrounded by trees making them almost like walls. To one side you see a small waterfall, the water falling into a little pond, to the other a long stone table full of fruits and refreshments, and above the moon shines brightly through an opening, lighting the entire area. As you go in further, it almost seems too quiet, until you hear the the faint sounds of music playing, seemingly coming from everywhere.You move about and it grows enough that you can clearly hear it as a lively tune that you can dance and enjoy yourself too. You hear a voice "Dance and be merry, for all those who celebrate love are welcome"
