It had taken almost an hour from when she had sent the twitter message before Jerry had shown up at the medical facility with a tray in hand, a guitar on his back and a bottle under his arm. He headed toward Sasha's bed and curtain with a look of a man with intense purpose and serious mission.
"Are you awake?" He called out gently.

Sasha bit back an exasperated response, taking a deep breath before calling out a soft, "Yes."
She was awake and starving. They'd been fed, but Sasha hadn't eaten much since her return home. This was the first time she'd felt like eating - and cabin fever was starting to settle in, too. There'd been things she'd wanted to accomplish after her promotion - things she hadn't had a chance to tackle yet - and being stuck in bed was not helping her disposition at all.

"How you healing?" He smiled as he wobbled his way into the room, gently setting the tray down to unload the rest- the bottle proved to be freshly squeezed orange juice with clear plastic cups. The tray contained carefully arranged slices of sandwich meat and cheeses that looked like he had very carefully chopped up into neat little cubes, and a plate of glistening clean strawberries, complete with a little dish of yogurt dip.
It was topped off with a small jar he had probably fished from the recycling and washed out to hold the large tropical flower he had picked from somewhere on the island.
He beamed as this was carefully placed before her.

Sasha's expression brightened only marginally when Jerry wibbled into the room, a slight downward dip of her brows the only outward sign of annoyance. She was more excited about the food than having to deal with Jerry's constant concerns, but she'd put up with whatever she needed to put up with in order to get some real food.
Sasha was infinitely thankful for Jerry's attentiveness to her likes and dislikes. The strawberries were given a needy look - the meat and cheese had her salivating. Orange juice too?
She wanted to gorge herself.
Reaching out with a pale hand, she delicately tapped the flower he'd found before slyly nabbing a strawberry. It was promptly devoured, a look of pure heavenly bliss on her face as she finally answered his question.
"Fine. Ready to get out of here, honestly. I miss my own bed, my own things. Privacy."

Privacy. Her own bed and things. "I um. Was hoping you'd... um. I mean, my new room is... is pretty big for just one person. We never really... got a chance to um. Talk about it. If... if you'd rather... um. I mean, I'd understand..." He bit his lip before smiling weakly, "You're supposed to dip the strawberry in the yogurt. OH and I found some brown sugar too! My Gram used to love strawberries and yogurt and brown sugar."

Sasha pressed her lips together and took another strawberry. She held it up for close scrutiny before meeting Jerry's gaze - and an instant later she sank her teeth into it.
Sans yogurt and brown sugar.
After slowly chewing the tart fruit, Sasha gave a satisfied little hum before reaching for a piece of cheese.
"Pour me some juice? And.. talk about what? Your new room?"

"You... moving in with me, I mean," His smile remained as he carefully poured her a glass. "If you wanted to."

Sasha popped the little chunk of cheese into her mouth, chewing slowly before she swallowed. The morsel was followed by a quick sip of juice before Sasha picked up another strawberry.
"Can we get some different furniture for it? I saw that couch." She pursed her lips. "It has its own bathroom too, right?"
God, she would do anything for a private bathroom. Besides, it was kind of nice having such an attentive boyfriend - something she was quickly coming to realize.

Relief poured over the man and he visibly relaxed, laughing weakly, "What's wrong with my couch? I found it! But yeah... yeah I could certainly use help decorating." It was a welcome topic, hopefully as nicely distracting for her as it was for him. "I was thinking of like... turning the sitting room area into like... a place I could hold music lessons for people. Make a few extra dollars that way. The bed is just what came with the room, but it's a double and... and we can always upgrade it. Two paychecks are better than one on that front! You uh... you have some red on your-" Smiling more honestly now, he pulled a napkin from his pocket to reach for her nose.

Sasha froze as Jerry reached out to dab at something she had on her nose. It took all of her effort not to jerk back. Her breath hitched nervously. She was still uncomfortable with all the touching that Jerry seemed intent on - in truth, she was uncomfortable with all the touching, period. She couldn't stop thinking about Medea's icy fingers -- holding the bug against Otto's neck -- touching her own skin.
She snatched the tissue from Jerry's hand before he could get too close, promptly using it to scrub her nose free of anything red.
"I.. I'm sorry. I just. It's going to.. it's going to take some time. I need time."

His expression fell and he glanced down at the tray of food, nervously pushing his glasses up his nose, "It's... it's alright."

Exhaling quietly, Sasha reached for another strawberry. She ran her thumb across its dimpled surface, a frown pulling at her eyebrows. She felt like she should explain things, maybe it would help him understand. Sasha pressed her lips together and moved beneath the blanket, a restless action.
"...they -- she -- had us in cages. Like animals, you know? There were skeletons in the cages with a few of us. I.. it was.. I don't even know what parts were real, and what parts were... were illusions. Medea - it.. I just need.."
Sasha squeezed her eyes closed.
"I want to pretend it never happened, but I can't. I can't forget it, Jerry. And.. it's not fair to you. I don't want to be anyone's burden, not anymore."
She opened her eyes again, exhaustion apparent in the pale depths.
"I want to forget, but I can't. Nothing will ever be the same again."

"You aren't a burden. And... and things change." He said softly, mulling over his words carefully, "But... but change isn't... isn't always a bad thing. Um. You... you went through something terrible. And... and chances are, we'll continue to go through terrible things. I can't even begin to imagine what... what happened. I only had a tiny taste but that was enough." He pursed his lips again, picking up the yogurt she didn't seem to want, using the spoon to sprinkle a bit of the brown sugar on top before taking a small taste.
He swallowed, keeping his eyes down. "When Francis... when Killzone..." The name, both names, sent pain across his features, muscles working in his jaw, "And then when the crystals broke and you were... you were gone I..." He drew in a deep breath, "I was convinced I'd never see you again."
Another deep breath, followed by a third, carefully bottling his emotions, "However long it takes... whatever you need, I'll be here to help, alright? W-whether-ether you want me or n-not."

Sasha wasn't sure what to say or how to respond. Jerry was a good man - caring and attentive and mindful of her wants and needs - and he tried to look after her. He tried - and she should appreciate that. She did appreciate that. Sasha cared about him - but there was a little piece of her - one that sounded suspiciously like Nona - that kept reminding her of how broken Jerry was. How broken she was. She could fix herself... but Sasha wasn't sure she had the energy to fix Jerry. Not anymore. Distracted by her thoughts - and hating herself for having them - Sasha offered him a terse smile. Stuttering. She clenched her jaw. "I... appreciate it, Jerry. And I'm.. I'm sorry you worried over me."

Jerry leaned forward, lips pursed, ready to try to kiss her- he had wanted to throw his arms around her, bury his face in her hair, kiss her long and deep and tell her nothing would hurt her and he'd protect her forever but... she barely could withstand his touching her hand. And it would be a lie, anyway.
He leaned back again and sighed. "Are... are you sure you don't want a song? Might make you feel better."
