Really, I have never seen so many scared, pathetic creatures in all my existance. Isambard ranted within Ifan's head as they wandered through the forest to the north of the Pantheon. It is going to take a miracle to bring them all together.
"Well you shouldn't have a problem then. Being a god and all." Ifan muttered as he kicked a rock out of the way. He was getting a little bored of the constant bitching and moaning. Death was going to be a nice respite.
Isambard too was looking forward to the day when he consumed the young man and finally took control of his body. It was hard to get things done when you had to push someone else to do it.
They keep talking about these demons that are aparently going to attack at some point yet little is being done to provide any protection. It is like they are sitting around and waiting for the end of the word to fall into their laps. -Nothing- was ever won doing that.
Ifan actually agreed with him on that point. The forges were primitive at best, which was rediculous with all the combined skills and technology they could produce. "True, but what makes you think you can make them do any different?"
I will show them progress and when they see what they can achieve they will beg for more. It is the nature of everyone, greed.

Teilil was out hunting, which normally would have been done by now but his routine had shifted a bit since he went to help Shad'era gather nuts and berries some mornings. The wild elf had delivered the baskets to Delphine in the kitchen and made sure his mate was settled in for her nap before he went out. He had no idea if it was the twins or using her gift that made her so tired, though it was probably a bit of both. He had promised to be back soon and curl up with her when he returned.
He was after small game today- mostly rabbits, squirrels and the like because that was what Delphine had asked for to be able to cook for the next couple of days. Ifan would finally run across him while he was poised to shoot a rabbit, though at the sound of something coming up behind him he turned and his small quarry escaped. "Cy, Tax...that really isn't funny anymore." The brothers trying to sneak up on him made his usual quota take two or three times longer than normal. Thankfully by now he was mostly done, as the relatively full game bag over his shoulder next to his quiver would indicate. The arm that held the bowstring taut relaxed just a little when he spotted Ifan.
"Beg your pardon, you are not who I thought you might be."

Ifan had been so fixated on Isambard's plotting that he was not really paying all that much attention to where he was going and his surroundings. Almost walking into a tall, strange looking man with a bow and arrow came as a little bit of a surprise.
"Oh?" Ifan looked the man over and hoped that he was as friendly as he sounded. He was not armed at all and had not even considered the possibility of running into trouble. "Who did you think I was?"

"Friends of mine, who seem to think they are a lot more stealthy than they are." Friends was a rather loose way to describe two of the brothers, but besides Saljin they were probably the closest he had to friends ever. The joys of spending most of one's life alone in the woods. Fara, Teilil's kestral, flew down from a tree and landed on the elf's shoulder.
"I usually don't see many people out this way, you aren't lost are you?"

"Oh, um no. Not lost, just exploring the area. I'm sort of new here." Okay so he had been in the Pantheon several months, though he had yet to explore properly, what with having a god stuck in his hand and all.
"Nice bird." he remarked, keeping Isambard at bay for the time being. people tended to give him odd looks when he started talking to himself. "So you live out here? Or just looking for dinner?"

"Ah." He did not seem surprised, the 'new here' thing was fairly commonplace. "At least you have little to worry about, nothing truly dangerous wanders very close to the Pantheon." The influence of the gods he supposed, but there was no real way to know for certain.
At the 'nice bird' comment the kestrel made a 'kree' noise and fluttered her wings. Teilil laughed and reached up to pet the bird. "Her way of saying thank you, I do believe...and her name is Fara."
"Hunting, enough for a couple of days." Well, a couple of days for fair amount of people.

"Fara." He smiled at the birt that looked at him with intelligent eyes. He liked birds of prey, there had been a family of owls living in the roof of the factory. Hunting, well that was an interesting concept. He'd never had to hunt for food. Even in the bad times. "Oh, I've been staying at the Pantheon, they seem to have a limitless supply of food. The work of the gods perhaps?"

"My mate and I do as well, but we do what we can to help out." It seemed to help especially with so many people in Tajnevaki's house. Delphine always seemed to be busy cooking one thing or another, but the woman liked it that way. It meant she was busy.

"Ah, i see." Well that made him feel pretty useless. he should make himself more helpful, though Esha never seemed to have trouble finding food and ingredients. A mate? that was odd ... animalistic he decided, though each to their own. He was well aware now that there were many different species and races around the Pantheon. "Do you serve a god?"

Had Infan asked his question aloud he would have found out that mate was no different than 'wife' in this case, just the term Wild Elves preferred to use. "Directly, no." Unless believing in said god counted as servitude, they were closer to friends really. "Though I live in Mystery's house."

"Mystery, I've not met him or her." It might also be an option.
Sounds like an impractial domain if ever there was one. The voice was noticably different from the young man's, deeper, rougher. None of the gentle welsh lilt to it.
"Tact, really something you need to learn." Ifan muttered, pushing the deity back. It was getting harder and harder to do so.

"Intangible, maybe, but hardly impractical." Teilil had noticed the change in voice- the man must have a god's stone then, as there really was no other explanation for that. He knew all too well what a host was, having dealt with Priscilla and Tristan but neither of those gods had actually spoken through their hosts in front of him. It must be rather inconvenient.
"Taj is..." The grinning cat was always hard to explain other than in terms that 'Taj was Taj.' He was someone you definitely had to meet to have any chance of understanding. So he settled on the simplest descriptor he could find. " a good friend."

"Sounds interesting to me." Ifan remarked. As an engineer he was naturally curious and well, a god of mystery certainly intrigued him. "Though I am host to Industry. If he can't make something out of it I don't think he's interested. Which to me seems impractical itslef really. If I were a god I'd be wanting to build alliances."

Industry. Something he knew little about and had no desire to investigate further. He liked his way of life, it suited who he was even if it was not always the 'easiest' way of doing things. "I would say you should meet him but he is...busy and likely will be for some time yet." Teilil knew a bit about what the others were going to do on Aejiss and it was important and he had had to deal with a fuming Saljin and Tempest after Taj did leave, which had not exactly been enjoyable.
He agreed with Infan, but kept the fact to himself as he did not want to offend the god as it seemed like a rather bad thing to do. Especially since Industry seemed to be particularly arrogant.

Of course, all the gods were busy. His own included. Busy trying to take back what they had lost. "I have not met many. Greed, Desert, Lifewater." He shrugged his shoulder and gave a half smile. Xun had been the only one that he had actually liked. Isambard of course had related to Greed and Desert more. "Have you met many like me? The condemned ones?"
