Yearbook Committee Members Brief meeting will take place this Frightday at 6pm in room 305! If you can't make it let me know my screemail (amrita(at)pmail(dot)boo). See you then! - Amrita Amrita was, admittedly, a little nervous.
Okay, a lot nervous. Since her return she had slowly and steadily started to put all of her affairs in order; an important item was taken from her possession on her request, her friends had been visited and she had been assured that at the first hint of her betrayal they would take her down. So far, so good. There was just one more loose end; Yearbook.
It was a club with people she barely knew, but it seemed important that she put her trust - and her future with the club - in them and their decisions. She had to tell them the truth about what happened to her, and what could happen to her from now on; they deserved that much, and they deserved to tell her whether or not to step down from the club.
Though her phone was still missing, she knew enough about their whereabouts to get notices out, and on the day of the meeting the Patchwork had arrived early, taking a seat on top of one of the student desks, her backward feet on the chair in front of her. There was something admittedly a little different about the ghoul who had been so bubbly and open the last Yearbook Booth event; she seemed a little more on edge, her eye darted around a little more than normal. It was all somewhat subtle differences, but they were there.
Now all she had to do was wait.THE OOC STUFF This RP is for Yearbook Club Members only! This is admittedly going to be a somewhat serious RP, especially at first. If you do not want to deal with this right now, just say they were mysteriously away, oooo~ If you signed up for Yearbook when I first launched it, you're still in if you want to! Post away~ If not, well, sorry for quoting you! biggrin If you want to join Yearbook but haven't, ping me on AIM (sanguincarn) or by PM to let me know and I'll just assume you joined somewhere down the line!

The text message came just at the right moment.
Ren, having spent most of the past week doing absolutely nothing of value other than consistently pestering Jove (a normal, if not daily occurrence), spending time with LW, and bothering Tybalt to the point of being kicked out of his room (another daily occurrence), had been looking for something to keep him occupied so that he wouldn't spend his time brooding about things he couldn't change.
Which was exactly why he was pleased to see the text message from Amrita. Despite everything that had happened, this was something normal, something average, something that meant life had not simply stopped and turned for the worse.
It was something solid. Which was why Ren arrived a good ten minutes earlier than the meeting was supposed to have started, peering around the doorway and catching sight of the familiar ghoul at the front.
Ren smiled. "Afternoon, Amrita darling," he said, sliding into the room with a flap of his wings. He gave her hand a squeeze and slipped into the nearest seat, leaning back.
"Hope you're doing well?" he asked, and the corners of his smile softened a little, tail flicking from side to side.

In all honesty, with everything going on lately Mei had nearly forgotten about Yearbook. It hadn't really been all that active since the booth she attended in which she'd signed up for it. But once she got the message about the meeting excitement ran through her like white hot lightening. She hopes perhaps this would mean things would be starting up and getting active. Yearbook was one thing that she could look forward to doing. It had been a while since she'd seen Amrita as well and she had been curious as to how the older ghoul was doing. Reaching the meeting room, she slipped inside with a smile and a wave to Patchwork and a small nod to the unfamiliar boil. "Amrita! Its nice to see you again." Her smile wavered momentarily as she picked up on a subtle change in the other ghouls disposition as she sat on the desk. Even so, she made no motion to point it out. She had no idea what Amrita had been through, but it probably wasn't the best of times to go talking about it. She slipped into a desk next to her, leaning her chin in her hands after brushing some stray hair behind her ear. "Its been a while since I last saw you. I'm glad to see that Yearbook stuff might be picking up again."

"Hey, Ren." Amrita smiled softly, having just enough time to squeeze his hand in return before he flit off to claim a desk of his own. It was rather nice to see people who seemed unaffected by what was going on, but she couldn't help but feel rather jealous of that, too. When Mei came in she gave another smile. "Mei! This is Ren, he's...pretty much VP here, heh." In reality, Ren was more President than she was, in her eyes.
"AH, yes, I'm sorry about that...things happened and I just...well, I'm going to pick up again, if...err, well, if you guys are okay with it." A few more members wandered in and took seats at the back, ready to listen. When it seemed like everyone who needed to be here was here, the Vetala cleared her throat and hopped off the desk, starting to pace as she tried to piece her thoughts together. This was hard, so hard...she loved Yearbook, she'd hate to leave it, but being quiet about it was also quite unfair.
After a few minutes she stopped moving and took a spot at the front of the room once more, her arms crossed to hold her elbows.
"I...I called this meeting to get your opinion on s-something....err, well, o-on me." Lame, Amrita. Lame. "I don't...I don't know if you're up to speed on the going-ons, b-but recently a small group of students were c...captured-" The word hurt to spit out, and she had to pause as a tremor of fear slid through her. "-...a-and after a bunch of us raided the Hunter base were returned home." She had been out of it during her rescue from lack of FEAR; if she had seen anyone in this room attempt to save her, she couldn't remember. Her mind was too foggy when it came to the actual rescue. The events in the containment room and what happened upon her return were clear as day, though.
"B-but not...unaffected." Her voice was shaking, but in such a way that it sounded more like she was trying to not shake or cry. "The ones who c-came back were tagged by the Hunters. Essentially...turned into potential puppets." Her hands on her elbows gripped even tighter as another bolt of fear slid through her, followed shortly by a healthy rise of rage.
"I...I was one of the ones that was captured...I was tagged. I...I could very well be a danger to everyone..." As she admitted this she could no longer look at them, her head bowing to let her get a good look at the floor. "I thought...I thought about quitting, but...but I just can't. I can't let them win, but I have to acknowledge I can be a threat to you. I love Yearbook, and I love working with you all, but...safety comes first." She sounded downright miserable, no matter how she tried to keep an optimistic tone. Swallowing hard she lifted her head again, staring at the group of students in front of her, her gaze moving from one to the next.
"So I wanted to leave it up to you, whether or not I stay in Yearbook. I won't hold it against any of you if you vote me out, or ask me to step down. I...I'm being very selfish just asking, but...I want to know what you think, and I don't want you to hold back..."chimarii Just keeping you in the loop : D!

Danny was entirely late to this whole shindig, so she missed Amrita's speech, unfortunately. She snuck in and threw her bag down by the door, and then flopped next to the only person she recognized in the room.
"Psst. Kitty. What's she talkin' about?" she whispered, the epitome of stealth. Hopefully she wouldn't get in trouble! She looked around the room, realizing there were more people she didn't know than she thought. It was to be expected since Danny was only somewhat in yearbook club, but it still surprised her. Clearly she needed to make more friends!

She tilted her head just slightly as she listened to Amrita speak. The ghoul could tell that this was probably really hard for her so she said nothing until she was done. Even then she merely sat there in quiet contemplation. Passing a glance around the room to the other students. Knowing nothing about what exactly went down during the captured students time with the Hunters. She had gone with the others yes, but outside of the fighting on the island Mei was in the dark about most of it. She wasn't close to many of the students who had been taken. Idly she played with her choker. It was a habit she had picked up recently. When she noticed herself doing it the Jiang Shi quickly folded her hands on the desk in front of her. "I would like you to stay Amrita." She gave her a genuine smile. "If what you say is true I can only believe that what was done to you was not done to you of your own free will. And we cannot and should not hold that against you even if it means something might happen in the future."Another quick glance around the room. "Besides, I think quite a few of us can say that we've gone through some pretty rough spots and come out no worse for wear. I would like to believe that we all can handle ourselves if worse comes to worse. Life is dangerous. We all live in constant danger every second of every day. No one knows what might happen one moment to the next. But as a whole we are all generally adaptable to whatever is thrown our way."Mei crossed her legs at the ankles as she leaned forward a bit in her seat. "If something does happen we'll cross that bridge when we get to it. So don't worry so much. We're here for you if you need us."

"Aw, shucks," said Ren bashfully, but he gave Amrita a warm smile and a friendly wink before waving to Meixiang. He held out his hand towards her and gave hers a shake. "A pleasure to meet you, darling."
Lapsing into silence, he settled down into his chair, wings folded neatly against his back as he waited for Amrita to speak. But as she did so, the expression on his face darkened until it was more of a scowl than it was a frown. He had known about Amrita's capture, of course, and had been there when she had been found again and watched as Christof had carried her out. Mei* had been there as well, and a few of the other students - including one that hadn't survived - and just remembering it made Ren feel angry.
Tagged by the hunters. It was an awful thing to have had happened - and if Amrita was tagged, that meant Mei* had been tagged as well, something that made the anger rise again, along with a growing sense of frustration. He had been utterly unhelpful beforehand, but with this new development, his fury at the hunters only increased.
Danny slid into the seat beside him, but Ren gave her a small shake of his head, indicating that he would tell her later. The expression shifted, the anger ebbing away and he gave Amrita a very warm smile.
"We're not yearbook without you, all right?" he told her gently. "We want you here with us, so please stay. It's not as if you wanted what was done to you - those bastards were the ones who did it, after all. And Mei's right; we've all had our problems, we've all had to deal with the cretins that are the hunters. "
His expression softened further. "We'll be all right. Don't worry; we'll stay with you."
(( * ps Ren is talking about his friend Mei-Xiu, not Meixiang - sorry for confusion! ))
