 The day was beginning with a wonderful sunrise and Rangi was in a very good mood. He had happened upon a beautiful and lush land. Everywhere he looked there was life and it was flourishing. He just had to see more of this land.
Ahead of him there was a small pond. He walked to the pond and gazed down at his reflection in the water. He couldn't believe how beautiful this place was. He really didn't want to leave this place and go back out to the plains that he had been in before. This was a place he really wanted to make his home.

She woke, and thirst had gripped her with a furiousity that she hadn't been expecting. She stood from her sleeping position, stretching her legs so that her toes curled and her claws unsheathed. She found that she had a rather large den, now that her children had moved into their own. She missed the attention from her cubs, but she missed their presence more than anything. Sure the den hadn't been very big when accomodating three growing offspring and herself.. but she had been okay with the tight living quarters, so long as they were there. Otherwise, she was rather happy with her life.. Though lonely. She knew how lovely her home was. As a cub she had been lost, though once she had fully grown she had managed to find her way home. Though she hadn't managed to find her mother. She knew she was here though.. The water looked tempting, and she saw it gleaming under the sunlight. She picked up the pace, trotting a little in order to get to her destination. She could almost taste that water already.

Rangi laid down at the edge of the water and gazed into the reflections the water casted. He was so tired. Tired of wandering, tired being alone and simply just tired. He had been alone since he was an adolescent who had been run out of the pride his mother had been in. He had been run out by invading males who had defeated his father. The lions had wanted him dead but he got lucky and escaped just by the skin on his nose.
He's seen many sights and many places but none that felt so much like home to him as this land. This land brought back memories of his mother and siblings. Sadly he had no clue if any of them were even still alive and it hurt him deep down not knowing for sure.

Belle stepped closer to the waters, and wasn't surprised when she saw someone else staring into them. She knew that this was a main watering hole for the pride, and that it wasn't uncommon to meet strangers here. The pride was so large, she had a hard time meeting everyone. Not that she really set out to try. She decided not to say anything, and made her way over to the other side, lowering her maw to drink at the water. She wasn't as social as she could be, probably, but she at least had kindness. She had that going for her.

Rabgi looked up and surprise crossed his face as a lioness walked up to the water hole and got a drink. She didn't seem bothered at all that he was there and was just ignoring him. She was a very beautiful lioness. Rangi was star struck and a dose of shyness ran over him. He wanted to ask her if she lived in this beautiful place but he was too afraid she might snap at him or shoo him away. He couldn't bear the thought of being shooed away from such beauty and of course he meant the lioness.
His mind was screaming at him that he was being rude by just staring at her but he couldn't take his eyes away. Nor could he speak with his tongue seemingly stuck to the roof of his mouth.

She lifted her head, her ruby gaze looking over the eagle colored male. He was handsome, and she found herself staring back. Before she shook her head and cleared her throat. Looking behind her, to see first if he was looking at someoen else.. Then she turned and looked back at him. "I-I'm sorry, do I know you?" She asked. Knowing full well she had no idea who he was. But she wasn't the type to be rude, and she was slightly anti-social. She wasn't quite sure how to start conversations without being rude, or too open. It was such a confusing task, conversating with others!

Embarrassment flooded Rangi's emotions as he was caught staring at the female. Oh how he would love to hide under a rock at that moment. He felt so rude because he'd temporarily lost his manners at that moment. He smiled at her and laid his ears back.
"Ah no you don't know me. This is the first time I've ever been in this area. And I do applogize for staring at you. I had a lapse in manners for a moment." He laughed nervously when he was done speaking. He didn't want to tell her that he was staring because he thought she was beautiful. He was afraid such a statement might turn her against him and he really didn't want to do that.

She smiled warmly when she saw the look of embarrasment on his features. She nodded and then sat down, looking at him from her position. "I didn't think I did. But there are so many that live here, sometimes it's hard to keep faces in your memory." She cocked her head, looking him over, before meeting his eyes again with a friendly grin. "So you are new here, huh? Are you thinking about living here?" She asked, happy for the conversation.

Rangi returned her smile with one of his own. He was really liking this female and her friendly nature she was putting off toward him.
Her questions brought thoughts to his mind. He had really loved how beautiful the land was but he didn't know much about the occupants of this land. "Yes I am new here." He replied while glancing around their surroundings. "This place is very beautiful and I am in a way looking for a place to call home. Is there a pride that occupies this region? Is it a good pride?" He asked wanting to get some more information so he knew for sure he was going to make the right decision and really wanted to stay here.

She listened to his questions, and she smiled pleasantly. She nodded to each question when he was done speaking, and then decided to speak for herself. "This place is lovely. It's my birthplace. Though I've only returned in the last few years. Doesn't feel like that long, but my babies aren't quite babies anymore. So it has to have been long enough." She chuckled. "What's your name, stranger? Maybe I could show you around sometime, if you'd like?"

Rangi's ears perked as she spoke very intrigued by her words. She was born here and had cubs. He was a little disappointed because he simply assumed she was mated if she had cubs.
"You have children?" He asked with a pleasant smile to her.
"My name is Rangi Nyoni. You can just call me Rangi if you like and I would really love to be shown around."

Izzy Makani I think this post can end it. Wanna start the 2nd? She smiled when he asked her the question, nodding a bit. "Well, I had cubs. I guess now you could consider them more adults than cubs. They grow quickly! Though I'm kind of glad for that. Raising cubs alone is tough!" She said with a chuckle. She looked back at him. "Come on, Rangi, I'll show you around. We might even see my cubs around here somewhere." And with her thirst quenched, she motioned him to follow. She liked him, and she was glad she was going to have her first friend.
