Plots...?!?!??!
xxxxxPlot: refers to the series of events that give a story its meaning and effect
xxxxxxxA plot has the traditional "Beginning, Middle, and End."
xxxxxxxYet how it goes and flows is up to the plot's author and the players....
Welcome to the Plot Subfourm!
This subforum has been made to carry all plots of every kind. The plots for other rps like the ones in "More Rps for our Rp Addicts" Or plots from the Main Rp as in "A Fairytale Untold", and "The Untold Fairytale". However other players are welcome to post plots regarding their own characters!
As you explore this subforum, you will see all of the plots mentioned and more as the guild grows. Each topic has to follow the topic regulations for this subforum, however I would like to go into plots in general.
Your character and the Plot
Your character, no matter what rp they may be in, will always have a part within the plot. They may be the main character, or secondary character, or maybe even the villain! Regardless of their part in the rp, the character is still within the plot.
Now, it's up to you how to roleplay your character, like how they respond to each event and other characters and so on. However! When it comes to the plot, it's all up to the one who made the rp. The person who created the rp is the one who decides what happens in the future and what did happen in the past.
If you want anything to happen to your character or have an idea about your character doing, well, anything then you should speak to the one who created the rp! It's up to them in the end, and they may not want you to do that certain thing if it interferes with their plot.
Example:
Tael wants to save the princess! He is compelled to thanks to their past together and wish to save her no matter the cost. However, the prince is the one able to save her. And perhaps it is the prince who should... after all.. he is the prince and she is the princess while Tael is a simple servant... Wrong!
Instead of this, Tael's player should speak to the creator of the rp. The player shouldn't try to go out of the plot the creator of the roleplay set out to get what they want. A simple compromise is all it takes. They should discuss what could happen and will once they decide. Tael may find an enchanted item that grants him more power. Or! What if the prince is trapped and unable to help her? This would leave the prince asking for Tael to go ahead. However!!!
What Tael's player needs to keep in mind....is that the plot may hold a different ending. What if she wasn't the princess? Instead the princess's lady in waiting? What if the princess wanted to save herself and has already escaped the castle and simply wishes to find her way home? Or! Perhaps, the villain is the princess herself! The princess luring the prince to come save her only to actually kill him and Tael must save the prince from such betrayal.
Anything could happen, after all. Thus is why you should always talk to the one created the rp for their plot may very well differ from yours. Keep in mind though that people may disagree with your ideas, and don't try to force it.
A Character's Plot Within The Roleplay
xxxxxxxA roleplay's plot and a character's plot...is two different things!
The roleplay will have its own path. Its own beginning and how it came to be. However, a character will also have their own beginning and their past. A character may be within a roleplay...but their plot will always differ from the roleplay's. The two plots may involve each other's, but there is a difference nonetheless.
Example:
Tael started life as a servant for the princess. Each morning he would awake to go greet her and serve her breakfast. His life was to only serve...but was this his fate? Is he to live as her servant?
This is up to the player to decide. Tael may secretly want to be free of the princess or perhaps he is in love with her to where he wants to forever be her servant. Or, maybe he is simply loyal to the royal family?
Regardless of what he wants...whatever he becomes is his plot. If he works to be free and not anyone's servant then that will be his goal. Or, if he will always serve her and/or love her...then his plot is to stay by her side and defend her from anything or anyone that opposes her. The player that roleplays her shall proceed with their plot how they wish, as long as they go by the roleplay's plot as well. If it involves the roleplay's plot in anyway, the player should speak to the roleplay's creator.
And Thus concludes the explanation...
You may post a topic regarding your character's plot and/or your roleplay's plot. Thank you for reading thus far and I hope this helps you to understand plots a little better. Any questions, concerns, suggestions, and requests is to be posted here. Before posting your plot please ensure your topic follows topic regulations~!
