 Another day and more excitement came as the celebration continued. Kakalina yawned as she walked through the others that were wandering around, taking in the sights of the land. Mama had worked with her and her sisters the night before, trying to help them name all the colors they could using leaves and the coats of others for examples. The lesson had been tiring and Kakalina had ended up sleeping half way through it, curled up with her siblings. Thankfully her mama hadn't gotten mad at her for falling asleep during the lesson and let her join the festivities today.
She yawned once more and used her front paw to try to wipe the sleep from her eyes. She couldn't enjoy today's activities if she was tired. She continued making her way around and stopped short when she saw someone bigger than her that see was unfamiliar with.
After her encounter with the elephant, she was leery of species she didn't know. Deciding she would be brave, she took a deep breath and wandered over to find out more about them. Hopefully they were friendly.

As Nua stood there, taking everything in, she felt eyes on her and blinked, beginning to look around slowly until she spotted a small lion cub with dark red fur. The wild dog looked down at the curious lion with a smile. "Why hello there!" She greeted the cub cheerfully. Being in such a diverse pride, Nua'Soal lacked the fearfulness some of her kind had towards the feline species, indeed, Nua wasn't unfriendly to anyone, so long as thy were polite and were not trying to intimidate her, she thought of herself as a friendly little dog.
"Are you excited about the festivals going on today?" The brightly colored femme asked in a soft, sweet tone as she took in the others appearance. The charcoal over the red with the combination of green eyes did look nice on that lion cub. Nua always found it so interesting to see the coats of those in the Sikukuu, everyone looked so unique and it was pretty easy to tell which clan anyone was from.

When the other animal greeted her, Kakalina felt her ears perk back up slightly. Whatever she was, she was friendly! As she spoke softly, Lina started to calm down; there was no need to be scared, the pride wouldn't have let anyone in here if they were mean and wanted to hurt them.
"Hi," she greeted, sitting back on her hind legs to get a better look at the female. "Yeah! Are you excited?" she could feel her tail swishing slightly, as the excitement for the day started to return and the fear that had struck her retreated.
She looked at the coat that the female had; Kakalina had no idea what species she was but she was pretty! She had...what had Mama said they were?...oh yeah pink and green!
"Your coat's the same color as my eyes!"

The wild dog nodded, smiling at the young cub as her reservations about Nua seemed to fade as her excitement for the festivities grew. Young ones were always fun to talk to, they were bright and full of energy, which was more than Nua'Soal could say for some of the older Sikukuu members, especially some of the bouncers. What grumps they were at times!
"I am very excited, I love all the festivals here." The older female had to stifle a soft chuckle as she watched the cubs tail swishing with excitement, almost like her own did when she was really pleased or excited about something.
The green dog blinked as the cub noted how her coat was the color of the younger ones eyes and she grinned, nodding, "Yes, and it is a lovley color, especially with your coat. That green is stunning on you." She said gently, complimenting the very sweet little cub. "So tell em your name little lion. I am Nua'Soal of the Demani Clan."

"Really?" the cub asked as she tentatively stepped closer to sniff at Nua, "this is my first festival!"
When she introduced herself, Kakalina tried to remember which of the clans that was, and breathed a slight small of relief that she was a member of the pride. She knew she belonged to the Vuli clan and that the was another clan and then came the....what was it....oh yeah spring!
Kakalina smiled shyly at the other female's compliment. "Thank you," that's what she was supposed to say when she was given anything. See, Mama didn't have to worry, she was a good learner.
"You're pretty," she added on and decided to introduce herself as the green one had done, "I'm Kakalina of the Vuli clan!"
She sniffed the older female again as she tried to commit the scent to memory. She wondered if she would get in trouble for asking her next question, "You smell different. You're not a lion, are you?"

Nua nodded at the cub as she told her this was her first festival. Nua grinned, remembering her very first festival. It had been so exciting and new and interesting. Her tail wagged slightly remembering it all.
"Kakalina? What a lovely name. I am so pleased to meet you." She said happily as she admired the young cubs manners. How lovely her mother must be to have such a polite child. When the girl sniffed her and asked if she was a lion, Nua couldn't help but laugh at the idea. Her? A lion? Nua was far too small. Most juveniles or adols were larger than she was.
This cub must be unfamiliar with dogs Nua assumed, smiling gently down at the girl. "Oh no, I am a Wild Dog, see the tail?" She turned to show off her big fluffy tail, which in and of itself was not like any feline tail, at least not any feline in Africa. "I take it I'm the first dog you've ever met then. Well, I am glad to let you see something other than lions and leopards."

"Thank you. I like your name too," Kakalina responded as she watched the older female's tail wag.
When she was informed that Nua was not a lion but a wild dog, her little green eyes widened. From the sound of it, they didn't sound very nice, but Nua didn't scare her at all anymore as the green dog smiled down at her.
When Nua pointed out the difference in her tail, Kakalina looked at the dog's tail before looking at her own. Nua's was big and fluffy while her own was small with just her little tuft at the end.
"Yours is different than mine," she replied as she took in the sight of a few of the other lions and compared their tails to Nua and her's. "I only have a little fur, you have a lot, and leopards don't have any on theirs!"
She lightly scratched at her ear to ward off a bug that had flown near it before sitting back down properly. "Are all wild dogs like you?" she asked curiously.

The way the lion cubs eyes lit up at hearing Nua was a Wild dog made her chuckle softly. She was definitely the first wild dog this little Kakalina had met.
As Lina pointed out the differences in their tails Nua nodded with a friendly smile, "Yep, wild dogs have big fluffy tails while lions have long slender ones with tufts of fur at the end." She shook her coat a bit, the fur being a bit longer and fluffier than the cubs own pelt. "Hyena's are a lot lot me too if you ever see one, only they hunch over more and their tail are a bit shorter." She said hunching her neck and shoulders a bit to give an image of what a Hyena looks like as best she could.
The girls question made her blink though. It was something she had to think about; were all wild dogs like her? "Well. In appearance kind of. We have the same tails and the same features, but my pelt is different than any other dog I've met. Personality wise... well, do you act like all other lions? I think everyone has a different personality, which makes it more fun to meet new friends. What do you think?"

The cub watched as the dog shook her coat to fluff out her fur and listened intently as the older female described a hyena. She grinned when Nua hunched over slightly to show her.
"So hyenas are dogs, too?" she asked. If they looked like Nua, then they must be dogs, right?
When the green dog posed her questions after explaining that other wild dogs looked similar, Kakalina tilted her head to the side as she thought about them. Did she act like other cubs?
"Well not really. Noe and Kai like to run around all the time. I like to be left alone sometimes like my mama," she replied after a few moments of contemplating, then she shrugged, "I guess it can be fun to meet new friends. It probably wouldn't be fun if everyone was like me."

Nua chuckled and wagged her tail at the cub and nodded. "Exactly! It's more fun if people are all different!" And it was true, Nua liked meeting different kinds of creatures and getting to know all their different types of personalities. Like this cub was friendly, curious and bright, while her Hyena friend Jacendi was smart, a little quiet and very giving.
And yes, Hyena's are dogs too. As are Jackals and Maned Wolves." She explained happily. "And everyone is differnet in their own ways, some animals act similar in personality but I think we all have that one little quirk that makes us different."
LexThetaSigma We're at 10 now, so we can wrap this up in another post or two if you like. Then I can start an rp for Nil and Bal, or Ahote and Oota.

"Yeah," the little cub said, It would be weird if we were the same. She considered this idea for a moment and remembered a comment she kept hearing around the pride, "It's already weird enough because some think I'm just like my momma."
At the wild dog's last comment, Kakalina thought hard again. She knew what separated her from her siblings and she could tell what separated her from Nua. She wondered what her little quirk was that made her different from her mother. The a light came on in her eyes, "Like my bug hunting?"
She was distracted from the conversation by the rumbling in her stomach; it was time to head back and see if dinner had been brought back.L1m3_gr33n_sh4rp13 Alright, last post from me. You can add any last comments if you'd like and you can decide with pair of siblings you would like to rp ^.^
