Both roll ten sided dice and the highest roller does the damage that turn. (This is from SoA also, but Jahy Sarlarin) When HP is down to 0 the loser has to retreat... or die... but we don't want that, right?

0: Dodged/Missed, no damage
1-2: Light Hit, -1 HP
3-6: Medium Hit, -2 HP
7-9: Hard Hit, -3 HP

Bloodroot 10 HP
RowanBerry 15 HP (Owsla + 5)

User ImageBloodroots nose twitched as he edged closer to the warren he had heard of from rabbits in a hutch. He had gone down there to the farm to get easy food. The Elil, the ones called cat and dog; were easy to trick. The one called being was not. The louder one was dangerous but the other was no and would often give him interesting things to eat. Because of this knowledge thanks to the hutch rabbits, he was healthy. Now they had told him of a warren. The one being had tried to pick him up, the hutch rabbits explained it was because it wanted to put him in the box. Bloodroot had no want for this.

So here he was, scenting the area with care, ears perked up and forward. He was listening hard; he was always scared of Elil. There were far more than the cat and dog to worry over. Even other rabbits could be Elil to him. For he had just one more enemy then the price had.

User ImageIt was risky for hlessi to get too close to a warren. There were frequent patrols to keep the perimeter safe, as well as the occational wide patrol. Bloodroot was close enough to be discovered by owsla doing their normal rounds, however, and he was about to be discovered. A brown buck that had seen his fair share of fights was approaching through the high grass. As he scented and saw the other rabbit his ears started to turn back.

Rowanberry hadn't reached his current position by being soft pawed, and he wasn't one to welcome trespassing rabbits. Especially ones that were obviously hlessi. They got one warning, that was it.

"You're not one of us," he growled, ears lowering dangerously, "Leave."

Bloodroot startled and spun around to face a buck he had not heard sneak up on him. His eyes blinked fast his tail stiffening behind him. This buck was a large one, and by the scars one use to fighting. Worried Bloodroot snipped his teeth. “Why? I’m not doing anything but looking.” He edged his body slightly away from what he guessed was an Owsla. It was normally them who made an appearance and showed their wounds from fighting. “I mean no harm.” Bloodroots red eyes gazed to the buck, calculating his choice of flight or fight. He was too small to do much to this buck; but he really did want to see and if he could get past him, well.

(( Oh that's really cool! Thank you. >< Hmm, Blood pretty much has more black fur so black text. XD Also I posted the fighting thing at the top. We can keep track of our own health at the bottom of our posts when the fight starts. ))

In a rare act of patience, Rowan didn't attack the intruder at once. His ears just lowered further, and if this hlessi didn't had the sense to move he would attack. Other owsla might have more patience with intruders, and he even heard that a couple of kittens had been encountered recently. However, Rowan wasn't prone to that kind of weakness. Outsiders might draw the attention of elil, or bring unknown disease to the warren. As long as he didn't get other orders no one would be able to sneak in on his watch.

"This territory is taken," he said, standing up to show the other rabbit that he meant business, "There's plenty of scent marks around for you to realise that unless there's something wrong with your nose. Go look somewhere else! We don't need hlessi sneaking around."

Bloodroot stared at the Owsla in slight agitation. His teeth snipped. “My nose is quiet well, better than yours I’m sure. After all you couldn’t live alone for any amount. Of time. I can.” He thumped his back foot, fur along his scruff bristling as his ears finally dropped flat against his head and back. “I already know it’s taken, I wanted to see it, to join. The hutch rabbits told me of here. The cat knows of here to.” At the name of what he was Bloodroot slammed his back feet and growled. “It’s not sneaking when I come right up.” Offended he turned his body to the side but then decided else wise. He jumped forward in a bound to try and catch the owlsa by surprise and scratch at his head. Anywhere his sharp cruel claws could reach.

((It's the difference between them, so if I roll a 5 too it'd end up as a difference of 0. So it is really 0-9))

Rowanberry was not impressed by the little speech, and he was fully prepared when the hlessi attacked. Bloodroot's attack was met by sharp claws, and not by a soft head. The owsla tried to aim for his ears, but anywhere would do. Most punks would just turn tail when they realised fighting might hurt.

"Chosing to be on your own," he grunted, "That says more about your intelligence than my survival skills."

As far as he was concerned it was the fault of the hlessi that he didn't had a warren.

Bloodroot squeaked as sharp claws scored across his ears and head. Shaking his head he growled and lunged for the Owsla. He was even angrier as the buck said it had been his choice. “I didn’t choose anything.” He didn’t aim to scratch this time but to bite down on the buck’s ear to shred it. Then they would see who looked like a hlessi. It had not been his choice, he had gotten lost as a kit. Then it was too late to go back. Everyone had gotten ill and the doe who might have remembered him had gone to Inle’. So it was a slight sting to be told by some Owsla that he had chosen this.

Rowanberry had to duck away from their skirmish when Bloodroot lunged at him. The hlessi meant business, apparently. He wasn't worried about losing, but he didn't fancy getting his ears ripped off. After dodging he tried to aim a bite at the intruders flank. The hlessi had issues about being called stupid, it seemed. Rowan filed away this information for later. An unbalanced opponent was more easy to defeat.

Bloodroot inwardly cursed as yet another of his tried blows was useless. Instead he felt something brush the fur of his flank. Twisting he kicked his leg both to dodge the bite and try to land a blow with a powerful back leg. Hit or no hit he landed and turned back to the Owsla. “Embleer Owsla,” he spit; teeth barred. “Nothing but over powered bullies.”

Ouch! The scarred owsla took a foot to the face and stumbled backwards. It stung, and he would probably feel it later, but the black hlessi had not managed to break the skin or damage his eyes. It had been a close call, however, and Rowan reminded himself to be more careful. He charged at the other rabbit, trying to scratch him across the nose. It wasn't the first time Rowan had been called a bully, and it didn't really bother him. The outskirters of the warren complained sometimes, but when he was hard on them it was for their own good. He couldn't say the same about this stubborn buck. He'd fight him until the other got the hint and fled, or until the intruder was dead.

Bloodroot couldn’t help feeling a bit smug as finally one of his hits landed on the Owsla. “Oh, better hope your leader didn’t see that, you might be demoted to an easier rank, say a storyteller?” Feeling a bit surer he might win, he attacked again, a little more reckless as he aimed for the other rabbit’s scruff. He didn’t know what he would do if he won, maybe ask the warren leader if he might join as an Owsla. Well, he would have beaten one of the Owsla so why not replace the larger buck?

(( ooc: Attacks HP: 7 ^^; No rolling early, cause now its all uneven and kinda confusing.. Cause your just going to have to post anyway.. ))

Rowanberry was unfazed by the hlessi's attempts at riling him up. He knew that one hit didn't mean the fight was over. Kick to the face? Psssh... It would take more for him to back down, and he was prepared to do this until the intruder backed off. His attemt at scratching him in the face failed, and the hlessi managed to get a hold of his scruff. That was a bit more bothersome.

He sat up on his haunches and raised his paws, still aiming for Bloodroot's head, hoping that a good blow would make him release the hold on his scruff. It would have looked like a cute attempt at imitating a boxer, but there was nothing cute about these two rabbits. The blood from the wound on his neck made the scene considerably less cute, but he wasn't going to let a flesh wound stop him.
