Kadryn was lost. She had gotten it into her mind last night to see if she could reach the Kawyn Ruins, south and east of her home on Lake Tyluafel. Early that morning she had set out. Now almost noon time, she was no where near the plain where the ruins lay."It shouldn't be that hard to find them," she reasoned, "big ruins among a rocky outpost in the middle of a plain, at the edge of the forest and all, easy to spot. So why am I lost again? I went east and south... I should be in the plains by now... not this forest..." Looking around at the tall trees, the tiny Orderite scratched her head. "I don't know why I keep getting lost, the sun rises in the east, so I go a bit right of the rising sun for south east, just like my Da says to... Hmm.. What am I doing wrong?" Shrugging, she continued in what she though was a south east direction. "If I'm lost, might as well continue this way; after all, any direction is better than none," she reasoned. Little did she know that she was going almost due south, deeper into the forest. As she walked, Kadryn kept an eye out for dragons; you never knew when you'd meet one, and after two losses in the past two weeks, Kadryn was wary of meeting any dragon before she'd trained some more.

The carriage was rickety, creaking under her weight as the dovaa moved from one side of it to the other. What Apicius was moving around in was her mobile shop. It held everything that she ever needed on her trips, and when she was out to get more herbs. Certain potions needed certain herbs, and most of the time those plants were hard to come by. Opening the door, she stepped out, and climbed down to the ground.
Stretching her arms, the tanned dovaa scoured the place with her eyes. They searched for what she needed, but none seemed to be close. Sighing some, she reached her gloved hand up, pushing back her bangs as she walked forward. Being in the forest provided cover, and she didn't expect anyone to be near anyways. So she wasn't so worried about leaving her mobile shop unattended for very long. Sighing lightly, she started her trek in looking through the forest for her plants.
Apicius' travels was cut short though. She spotted something that seemed rather off to her, but then again, it shouldn't. A little blue haired orderite caught her green eye. Blinking a few times, she wasn't so sure at first if that was what she saw. Though it was clear when she took a couple steps that what she thought she imagined was real. "Aren't you a little young to be out this far?"

"Eep!" Startled, Kadryn jumped a little. She hadn't expected to meet anyone in the forest. This far out from the lakes there weren't many people who were willing challenge the wilderness and dragons. Whirling around, Kadryn's dark blue eyes searched amid the tall trees for the source of the oddly accented voice. She found herself looking up at a strange looking woman, one with scales and horns. Her eyes widened as she realized she'd met her first Doova; after all, who else would have horns? Kadryn haltingly replied to the odd woman's question, "Er, I, um, I usually wander the wilds, ma'm. Um, you... you're a doova, right?.. er.." Never at home meeting new people, the strange appearance of this woman made Kadryn even more nervous than usual, making her ramble a bit. Fidgeting with her large bag, she asked, " Umm, do.. do you know where this is? I.. er, I'm lost." She hated to admit it, but getting un-loss was more important than her pride. Besides, this odd lady might know where the ruins were.

"Of course I'm a dovaa," Apicius gave the child an odd look. It was common sense that she was a dovaa, the horns were a dead give away just like the scales on her cheeks and arms. Placing her hands on her hips, she shifted her stance from both legs to lean on one. It bothered her that this little one was rambling. Apicius wasn't one for talking, though she did start the conversation with this one. It just seemed so odd that she was out so far, and being so little, wasn't she afraid of the dragons? Apicius could handle the dragons just fine, not having too much worry while scavenging for herbs.
"You're lost? Well..." Apicius hardly knew the names of places. She only knew the major cities, not the actual places surrounding them. In her mind, it was the forest just due south. She took in landmarks, recording things like that in her mind. It was a horrid way to remember things. There was no way she could give directions very well. And with this little one saying she was lost. "..Where were you trying to go?"

Kadryn shifted from one foot to the other, embarrassed. " I.. I only asked cause I've never met any one not an Orderite... I though you might be half dragon or ..something.." Blushing, she looked down at her feet. "You have horns and scales and all... " Clearing her throat, she gathered her courage and looked up at the exotic woman. "I was trying to reach the Kawyn ruins, they're supposed to be on the eastern side of Serenia. I heard it was on the edge of this forest, on top of a rocky hill surrounded by a large plain. But I've been walking and flying all morning and I haven't reach the forest edge. When I realized I was lost I thought of going back but... I ..er, I can't follow my tracks cause flying don't leave tracks. So I decided I might as well go forward." It occurred to Kadryn then that this was really a Dovaa, and what would a Dovaa be doing on Serenia? Looking around, she spotted an odd looking wagon with a roof behind some trees. Did this woman live there? That would be an awesome home, she thought, looking at the odd wagon; always on the move, new places everyday, no school, what a life! "Um, what's your name ma'm? And can I ask what you're doing here? I...I've never met a Dovaa before, so seeing you here is interesting." She shyly smiled up at this interesting Dovaa.

This rp has been dead too long so I'm closing it:
Kadryn would have asked more questions, but her father had woken up and found her missing. Knowing his wild daughter, he had tracked her down and finally found her.
Glad that she hadn't made it too far from home, he picked her up and apologized to the tall dovaa woman she;d been talking too. Keeping a grip upon Kadryn, he flew back home, listening to her excited chatter.
He made her promise to not do such a foolish thing again until she'd grown up more. He knew she'd g eventually, but if he would just wait until she was stronger before going dangerous places......
