Kuramaris Santis

Kuramaris Santis, commonly known as Kora the Peacemaker, or as simply Kora to those who have earned his favor and respect; is the Head of the Ichisei Clan. The mantra of this clan is: “Two worlds, one dream.” He has dedicated his existence to creating a utopia in which Yokai, Humans, and even Dragons, may exist in harmony with one another. However, he has been known to “test” any who claim to follow this belief, and ferociously lash out at any who would see the flames of the Great War engulf the land once more.

He makes no attempt to hide the fact that he is a dragon; however, few have been fortunate (or unfortunate) enough to see him in his true form. His ebony black scales reflect the mortified expressions of his terrified foes, each reflection I his scales seems to stare back any who dares raise a weapon against his ideal world. His eyes are a deep crimson, depicted as burning as hot as the flames that once consumed the world during the Great War.

His preferred form is that of an adult male with long, flowing, ebony-black hair, flawless porcelain skin, and deep, blood-red eyes that glisten as if they are trying to incinerate all those who stare into them. He is most often seen wearing a long black kimono tied with a crimson sash and adorned with his clan’s mon. Having lived through the feudal era personally, he is obsessed with samurai culture and attire ad is never seen without his daisho and personal assistant, who is shrouded in as much mystery as her master. She is most commonly seen as a white haired female wearing what most assume to be kunoichi armor.

However, despite his ferocious look, he is passionate about his dream of a unified world and will aid any and all who are willing to fight for this goal. The name Kuramaris Santis has appeared in many an ancient tale; standing between peaceful settlements and droves of both humans and yokai. It has also appeared in personal accounts of a mysterious stranger coming to the aid of half-yokai and half-humans; sometimes old, some times young, sometimes male, sometimes female; the only common thread in each story is the name…

These stories date back thousands of years ago, however, only a few years into the Great War, the stories cease and the name slipped into legend. Only recently, has the Ichisei clan’s existence come into to light and his name once again echoed throughout the land. Due to the fame (and infamy) of his name, epitaphs and monuments dedicated to him are scattered across Japan, most are forgotten, but some serve as makeshift shrines to him where those who believe in his ideals have been known to gather.

However, there are some who would rather see the horrors of the Great War once again tear the yokai and human worlds apart and pit them against each other. To them, his name resonates with a sinister chime that sends shivers down their spine. For those who have stared into his glowing eyes and seen their reflection in his ebony scales, his name brings a sinister and primal fear that is enough to send most into fits of madness and panic.

The Ichisei clan keeps its activities hidden from any who might seek to reignite the flames of war once more. This secrecy had lead to countless rumors as to the clan’s true intentions and mission for peace. The Clan Headquarters are located in a large mountain range that once served as an ancient battlefield between the humans and the yokai. Overnight, the peak of the mountain located in the center of this range was leveled. The following day, materials began being transported to the new, lowered summit, and the construction of the citadel began. Built in the fashion of the ancient daimiyo's castles (with the notable exception of increased fortifications and drastic increase in what was known as an "appropriately-sized" palace), the fortress was soon complete. Due to the mysterious nature of the mountain's drastic makeover, as well as the stories of ferocious beasts lurking throughout the area, the mountain range is avoided by all. At the base of the range rests a small hamlet, the hamlets population consists of both humans and yokai. It is a haven where one can go to start their life anew without fear of persecution. Because of the bond that has been forged by the humans and yokai inhabitants, this hamlet is home to the largest and most well-adorned shrine dedicated to Kuramaris Santis. Embedded within the mountain's side, this shrine has watched over the village for centuries.
