Ceres had been stuck in the infirmary since the the rescue mission and Bix's internal guilt had brought him there several times to visit her. He couldn't see Otto since he'd been captured longer and the albino man was unsure where they stood and how bad his young friend's damage had been. That meant that Ceres got the bulk of his attentions which included bringing her comics and sneaking her snacks.

He wouldn't tell her that he felt guilty. He knew she'd just yell at him and that was just what he would do to someone else as well. Bix couldn't help it. He was full of what ifs.. what if they hadn't been separated in the collapse? What if he'd gone back and gotten to her faster? She wasn't badly hurt, no, but the lightning she'd been hit with would definitely leave a lasting impact and he knew she was probably kicking herself for 'being weak' or other similar nonsense.

Bix was waiting outside the infirmary now because Ceres had texted him with a cry of 'FREEDOM'. He was relieved, very relieved, and attributed his relief (and that harsh tightness he'd had in his chest when she'd been missing during the fight) simply to the fact that he was probably being a sexist and she was a girl.

It couldn't be anything else. Obviously.

Bix gave Ceres a tight squeeze and lifted her off the ground a second before setting her back down. "I don't envy you." He laughed a bit. "Glad to see you're out." There was a moment that he gave her a look over, a swipe of the eyes to ensure that she was alive and well, and once it was determined she was fine he offered his arm for her since she was limping.

"How's the leg feel?" He hadn't seen her wound yet but she'd told him about the lightning weilding zombie. Just what they needed. Zombie X-Men or whatever. "Did they say anything about getting back to training? Or how long it should bother you for?"

Her information was better than he expected. Scar tissue, tight leg, but nothing that would kill her and hopefully if she stayed active it would be okay. It was certainly better than being dead or being captured by the horsemen.

"Well then.. we'll just keep training." Bix tried to be positive and gave her arm a squeeze. "But.. more importantly.." He gave her a very serious look. "Do you get a cool scar? Are you now a member of the cool scar club?"

Bix gave her new scar a scrutinizing eye. He'd never seen a lightning scar before and it was.... kind of awesome. "You're gonna think I'm stupid but... that's a cool scar. It like follows your veins, that's nuts!" He had his finger out like he was going to poke it or something but thankfully he didn't. The albino restrained himself from being a weirdo creeper.

"You deserve a break though. No training. No rebuilding. Take a rest." he offered his arm again, sliding aside for someone in a hardhat with a wheelbarrow. "You can walk around pantsless in my room if you want.." He snickered.

"Sleeping in your own bed should be nice. Without all those people around, poking and prodding you?" They were out of the building finally, the day was warm but was the usually misty-brightness that wasn't quite sunny.

"I've been the same. Worried.. but fine." He gave a sheepish smile. Once again he was pointedly avoiding his own guilt on the matter but seeing that Ceres was fine made the feeling slowly ebb away. Of course there were others, Otto mostly of course filled his mind, but he hadn't the balls yet to go and see him.

"Well whatever you want to do we can do.. besides leaving the island. Don't think we're getting leave until this place is fixed up." It's not like they had a vast selection of things to do but he could probably throw something together. Of course if she just wanted to sleep or be left alone, he could manage that too.

"Walking is fine. You seem to be doing better already actually." He nodded to her increased ease with every step.

"Maybe a little worried about you. Maybe" Bix grinned a bit, blushing. "Otto too though. He was bad in the cages. Not much himself.." The albino looked down a bit. "Really messed up. I kind of gave him a hard time but... it wasn't cause I was being a d**k.." Bix opened his mouth a minute, there was a silent pause, and then he made an exasperated noise. "I was kind of being a d**k but only cause that works with Otto, ya know? Get a rise from him.. get to see a bit of the Otto I knew and not some scrambling hopeless... damaged thing."

Their walk was along the looped paths between buildings. They all essentially went in a circle. "I dunno the other people were yelling at me in the cages. I think I feel bad in retrospect."

"I know.." Bix squirmed and smiled a little when she reassured and elbowed him. "They didn't really train us for that though. Torture? Kidnapping? Dealing with people in shock? I didn't really know what to do. it's a good thing I wasn't near Sasha cause she'd have gotten a slap in the face." Bix frowned. For some reason he seemed to think that slapping people would snap them out of it. He wasn't generally wrong. It definitely got their attention.

"I haven't gone to see him yet. Our manly friendship doesn't have a lot of space for.. fawning or pity parties.." Must be a man thing. "Is it wrong that despite them being kidnapped, I still think those girls are bitches?" He looked around hoping that no one but her heard that.

The breeze had picked up while they walked and it was refreshing despite the ever present fog. They were at the farthest point on the circular path, closer to the cliffs where the mist swirled just out of reach and you could smell the ocean a little bit stronger. He paused a moment, partly for the fresh air and partly due to the heavy topic of conversation.

"Well some people I just get bad feelings on and so I avoid them.. but.. Sasha used to be sweet and innocent and every time I see her lately she looks angry, on edge, and I dunno." It was like she'd been ruined. Bix simply shook his head. Maybe that was what happened to a lot of people here.

Bix made a 'Pffft' noise at her last statement and pulled his arm free of Ceres to wrap around her shoulders suddenly. He gave her a tight hug. "Don't even say anything about that. I get it." He didn't look at her directly, he squeezed the young woman and sort of stared off. He had a hard time with feels sometimes and he couldn't quite look her in the eye. "After that lava.. when we got separated in the cave," he shook his head. "Seriously every second that ticked by and you weren't back...."

Bix recognized himself getting too mushy and stopped saying anything with a bit of a frown. He could be totally overwhelming with his emotions or he could be really awkward. Instead of being either of those, he just went quiet a moment.

"Sorry. I'm just really glad you're okay is all." The hug eased after a moment and he let her go.
